Yep. Tomorrow at just after the asscrack of dawn, I'm taking off for Atlanta to ascend to a higher plane of fandom geekery: I'll be joining the swarms of people at DragonCon.

It's my first con. Pray for me, sacrifice to your favorite pagan deity, send warm fuzzies, etc.

Will report when I get back on Monday. (Hey, my sister's bringing a camera, so there might actually be documentation! LOL.)

I'm wrestling with these ficlets, y'all. In a good way. You all gave me great prompts; I just can't make them work the way I want. But I feel like it's about me and my concentration in general, not about my inability to be in a Lost brainspace.

Because, OMG, it's still in there! Craphole island and all its fucked up people are still in my fic-writing brain!

It's all pretty fucking shaky yet, but it's fun. And I'm hopeful. Unfortunately, though, I'm going to be gone this Friday through Monday, so I can't post more drabbles/ficlets like I promised. But look for me to pick back up next week. If, you know, you haven't wearied of waiting for me to return to the fold and given up on my fic entirely. I wouldn't blame you if you had. Not at all.

It's funny what'll scandalize a person. I've written a few fics about guys on CW shows groping each other drunkenly or declaring their undying love. And I am now fairly obsessed with writing stories about real boys in real bands and all the sex they're having and how they're best friends and soul mates.

But olympic_slash? Makes me make a WTF face. It looks like this: <>_<>

I don't know why it should seem so different to me. Perhaps because if you write RPS long enough, you forget you're writing about real people. Because you're not, actually. You're writing about unreal versions of them. You're writing fiction. So why not write about an unreal, fictional version of Michael Phelps banging one of his relay partners.

(Oh, wow. The dirty things it does to my brain when I introduce the word relay...)

But, still, I'm fairly scandalized, and in a way that makes me giggle, because it seems so silly and incongruous given everything else I write. But, dude, I have no desire to slash any of our Olympians. None. Hard bodies notwithstanding.

It occurs to me I'm antisocial. And fandom obsessed. In the interest of being social and not talking about fandom, I bring you this super serious poll.
