Steve Carlson @ The Social 04/07/08 (Plus EyeCon Set)
These pictures of musician Steve Carlson were taken by me with my Canon Digital Rebel on 04/05/08 or 04/07/08 in Orlando, FL at The Social and/or EyeCon.

If you already know me, you're probably aware that photography is one of my major hobbies, so being able to photograph Steve, a musician that I totally dig, again, was fucking awesome. I first had the chance in Dallas last fall, and pictures from that adventure can be found right here.

Info/Rules:

- Do not re-upload or host these pictures anywhere else without my express permission. Linking to this post is completely fine, I don't mind at all, that's why it's not friends locked, but taking taking individual images and storing them elsewhere online is not cool.

- Feel free to use them for any fanart/icon stuff. I'm a iconner too, so I know how it feels to find new pictures to use. Feel free. Just credit [info]crystalkirk please if you do use them.

- Not all the actual photos are vertical. I just did the thumbs that way to make things nice and neat, so there very well may be, and often is, more to an image than you're seeing in the thumbnail.

This way to the entire huge set... )

500 TV Eps in a Year
Snagged from [info]nightfive.

I also already try to do 100 Movies and 52 Books each year, so what's another crazy list between friends? LOL.

2008 : 500 episodes in one year
As the title suggests this is a challenge to watch 500 episodes of TV-shows in one year. The only rule is that if you watch a certain episode more than once in a year you can only list it again if you haven't already listed it for that month.
* rewatch

Men of the Year 2007 // (50-26)
3rd annual yearly round up. I did this in 2005 and 2006 HERE and now it's just becoming a little tradition, so I thought I should do it again this year too. And since I've been so busy, I figured I better get on the ball and do it a titch early, just in case.

As you may remember, this list is never really a "hottest" list - just men in entertainment that did great things in the past year, in my eyes. Though, lots of them are very hot. ;)

Anyway - so here's the start of my picks for the Top 50 Men of 2007.

Men of the Year 2007 // #'s 50-26 // )

The rest of the list will be posted before the end of the year. :)

Polls: Pez. Cherry flavor Pez. No question about it.
While driving home the other night my friend and I got to discussing Stand By Me. Of course we argued about which of the boys we liked when we first watched it as kids.

Which led to a huge argument, of course. Our taste in boys didn't even match up back then, apparently, heh.

And since we haven't done them in awhile, more mindless, time wasting polls to pass the time. )

I just added a ton more cheesy 80's and 90's songs to the iPod. My iPod is such a schizo dork. If it were ever lost, whoever found it would think I probably have serious issues. (The fact that "Mine is an evil laugh." is engraved on the back probably wouldn't help my case. Heh.) The only person that could possibly have a dorkier iPod than this one is probably J.D. from Scrubs, and that's just sad. Yet, funny. Hee!

PICSPAM: Steve Carlson @ City Tavern 10/05/07
These pictures of musician Steve Carlson were taken by either my best friend or me with my Canon Digital Rebel on 10/05/07 in Dallas, TX at The City Tavern.

If you already know me, you're aware that photography is one of my major hobbies, so being able to photograph a musician that I totally dig was made of awesome.

Caps: Kane England Vid
A few people asked about the caps I made from the Kane England vid, and I told them I'd try to get them up. Well, I didn't have time to dig through them all and pick out duplicate/blurry ones. So I just uploaded all of them I had in a zip file, so there's a mess of them, but that's the best I could do.

Kane England Vid Caps - 780 caps, 320x240, 12.9MB zip file

They're only as good as the video quality, which wasn't all that great, but they did work okay for iconning.

New Kane, Lost, Queer as Folk, Blood Ties and Other icons.

This is an icon batch I started in, oh, February? So some are older, some were made yesterday, but I figured it was time to get them freakin' posted already before the batch got even bigger.

Weevil love you long time.
I was doing the puzzles in the newspaper the other day, and look at what one of the jumbles was:

Nobody around me got what I was so damn amused by - until my best friend came in. He still didn't care (the bastard) but at least he freaking got it. Heh.

Threadless
Threadless is having a Valentine's Day sale where if you buy two of any one design in any sizes you'll get $10 off. Not really helpful to me, but it might be useful to someone, I guess. Heh.

I'm just happy because there's finally prints I'd actually buy again.

The "I Can't Draw" one is especially exciting for me, because cameras, I totally dig. :)

Men of the Year 2006 // (50-26)
I did this LAST YEAR so I thought I should do it again this year too. It's not really a "hottest" list - just men in entertainment that did big things in the past year, in my eyes.

Since I don't feel as great this year, so the notes under each pick aren't as detailed, if they're there at all. Sorry. Maybe I'll edit that info in later, if I feel like it. :)

Anyway - so here's my picks for the Top 50 Men of 2006.

New Layout: Just Like Dynamite
New layout - [info]crystalkirk.

I made it last night, er, early this morning. I actually made it as an icon first *points at icon* and then was like, you know, I'd totally love this to be my layout if I can make it happen.

So I worked at recreating it - full size. And it worked. Yay! I also made it into wallpapers. Which means I really got no iconning done, lol, oh well. New layout trumps icons, I suppose. Heh.

Steve Carlson // Just Like Dynamite

1024x768 // 1280x800

As always, all wallpapers were originally sized for 1280x800. So if you're just wanting to look at them, that's the size to see, because nothing would be altered and edited out to fit a smaller size. Walls may be used for your desktops only. Especially since this is my layout. Thanks. :)

On the 30th day, of the holiday sale, Threadless gave to me...
The Threadless 30 day $10 sale is now winding down to a close. Woe. Time to pick through all the designs and see what I still want to get.

I'm just totally bummed that "Know Your Meats" wasn't reprinted during the sale. For some reason, I totally thought that it would've been.

I really don't need anymore t-shirts right now, my closet is just about overflowing as is, but that doesn't mean I don't want them. Heh. So these are the ones I'm considering getting:

I really wish "Homework Evidence" had been available in kid's sizes - the little guy would have TOTALLY appreciated that one, hee! :)

Tutorial: Photography 101
You guys are ALWAYS so sweet about the photographs I post, and I've been asked a few questions from time-to-time, so I thought I do a little informative post, with the little I know about the topic. I'm not a professional - not by a long shot - but I figured I could tell you what I have figured out, and if that's helpful, great.

The details: Among a few smaller digital cameras, I mainly use a Canon Digital Rebel. It's a great camera, a little pricey and bulky for everyday use, but great. You don't need to spend that much to take fab photos though. It helps, sure, but isn't the only thing that matters, you know?

I have a Canon Rebel SLR, which is a film camera, as well, and love it. I've worked in darkrooms, and that's something everyone that's interested should learn to do. Digital photography is amazing, and love it, but it can't compare to being in a darkroom.

But for this guide, I'm going to talk about digitial photography, since that's what I'm doing the most of now - and chances are, you probably are too.

So I bring you:

Crystal's Guide To Subpar, But Fun, Digital Photography For Beginners - Like Me! )

No reposting the images, or text, elsewhere but you're welcome to link to this post if you'd like. :)

That's all I've got for now. If anything else comes to me, and there's an interest, I might to a follow up later. And if you think you have questions I might know the answer to, feel free to ask. :)

The Batmobile lost its wheel and Joker got away!
Threadless is having another $10 sale - this time for 30 DAYS.

That's right, 30 freakin' days. They really just want all my money, now don't they? Instead of waiting, like I do when it's, like, three days, lol, I picked up some more shirts today, and I'm sure I'll buy more before these days are over, woe.

Anyway, for me, this is what I got today:

I've been waiting for the "Lost a Wheel" shirt for awhile now. So hilarious. It takes me right back to my childhood. I love that the story is so there if you know the song. *loveslovesloves* It may be one of my favs that I've picked up at Threadless, ever.

Anyway. And for a Christmas gift for the little guy, I got this one, because like so many people, he's so very into the pirate craze:

So if you're in the market for new shirts for a cheap price, you might want to check it out, in the next, oh, 30 Days. Heeee! :)

Wallpaper: Steve Carlson
I had a little spare time at work this morning, had my laptop along, and wanted a new desktop - so Steve it is.

All wallpapers were originally sized for 1280x800. So if you're just wanting to look at them, that's the size to see, because nothing would be altered and edited out to fit a smaller size. Walls may be used for your desktops only. Thanks. :)

Steve Carlson // Denim Boy

1024x768 // 1280x800

Someone should really probably come and take my iPod and iTunes away from me soon, because if I keep up this listening to only Chris and Steve, I'm going to hate them.

That, or my friends are going to kill me in cold blood for making them listen to them non-stop.

And, really, either of those options just can't happen. Heh. ;)

PS: Does anyone else have issues with some of their userpics showing up? Because some of mine appear to be gone for some reason. Weird.
