Ester and Clancy from Cincy Artist Lori Brown are our new pets! [19 Oct 2007|11:23am]

Last night we went to Indigenous for the Halloween exhibit featuring Jeanne's AMAZING Cthulhu mosaic table.

We were greeted by some fantastic little creatures created by Cincy Artist Lori Brown. It took us a long time to decide, but in the end Ester and Clancy came home to live with us. Go check out their friends, they need somewhere to live too. :)

We also had the joy of meeting Lori a real sweetie.

Then we’ll do a rain dance to our electro/indie set featuring: Beck, The Go! Team, Simian Mobile Disco, Klaxons, Peter Bjorn & John, Amy Winehouse, Groove Armada, The Chemical Brothers, Bjork, M.I.A., Tetine, VNDLSM, Simian Mobile Disco, The Gossip, Pomomofo, Dragonette, Riot In Belgium, The Knife and brand new Siouxsie.

SATURDAY 20
Don't know about you, but I've always loved playing dress-up. Get ready
to don your most outrageous attire to see and be seen at the
"interactive-masquerade-extravaganza" PARIS IS BURNING Saturday night at
The Mockbee (2260 Central Pkwy., Brighton). Although the event shares
its name with a 1990 drag-themed movie, much more is in store for
partygoers: performance art, eclectic dance, crazy fashions and
refreshments (to be enjoyed responsibly, of course). Hot highlights
include fire juggling from Incendium Arts and Roesing Ape's atmospheric
audio-visual stimulation. The deliciously over-the-top Barnyard
Burlesque troupe, creators and purveyors of some of the most elaborately
fantastical costumes around, will be strutting their stuff and, well,
stripping some off. (Keep your eyes peeled for cool, customized
pasties!) The evening's organizing collective, Jam Productions, will
present a clubby, interpretive dance piece. Watch out for Holly Price of
recently formed contemporary dance company LivingBreath Concern, who
will play with aerial work and innovative stylings. When it comes to
in-your-face style, why let drag queens have all the fun? 513-309-0662.

Greer Lankton Fans - A must read [31 Jan 2006|07:43pm]
Hello, I'm sure there are some Greer Lankton fans out there on our friends list...

Recently, some people who were very close to Greer have started posting their memories of her on a group we belong to "The Motherboards." In addition to our dear friend Jojo Baby's memories, photos and tributes, Greer's niece Cloey tells the Lankton side of the story of her life and death. Then Greer's Husband Paul tells his side of the story, along with the most moving tribute to her memory.

It really is a "must read." Even those who do not yet know her work will be amazed.
