There are two possible ways to become my friend (aww, that sounds nice, right?) First way: We already "met" before (Real Life or Online), mostly fandom related. I don't think I will let my family or offline friends read this. Sorry for that if you're one of them. Second Way: You have such an interesting profile that I could never say no... So, if you're interested in being added and think you could match one of these criterias, just comment ... :-)
Oh, and I decided to make my Sims2 related posts non-friends-locked so that more people can read it. So ... enjoy! If you came here for my writings, have a look over at
... with my new camera. It arrived on Tuesday and since then I took quite a lot of pictures, just trying around. And boy, those pix are big ... as well as the movies, at least when I take them in high resolution which is like more than 1000 x I don't know what, HD for TV. Definitely too big to view them on my screen (1024x768) in their original size. The display is fabulous, it makes the pitcures look even better then on screen and it's definitely huge ;) The zoom could be more but I discovered that the digital zoom is quite okay to use as well, unlike many other cameras. I have to try around much more, there are 22 different modes (portrait, landscape, landscape at night, multi res, food, party, fireworks, ...) plus the normal mode plus the "intelligent" mode where the camera sets a lot of stuff depending on what the situation is like. Plus filming plus a clipboard which saves low res pictures to the internal memory of the camera (lousy 50MB) as some kind of memories. Very cool.
( Some pictures - well, to be exact: 22 pictures, 600x450 res - not really dial up friendly )

After not playing for a while, I finally got around and spent some time with my Sims. They are still insane, I have to report.

We all noticed that LiveJournal majorly sucks at the moment. Wait, not only at the moment, for a while to be exact. Anyway, found this almost everyhwere on my flist and thought it might be a good idea. I am not sure it helps, but still it feels better than doing absolutely nothing:

Everything's explained at
beckyzoole's LJ, but basically: on Friday, March 21st, we will not be posting or commenting for 24 hours.

I just discovered that I still have a good bunch of Sims related pictures on my HD and to get them off there, I thought I could post them, like I did it with others before. If you're not interested, just skip this entry :)
This is some kind of Spin-Off from my main family, the Collins. I have a lot of Sims "left", the siblings of the heirs which are not used to play with the family itself. So I decided to put them into a house and just see what happens - what they do, if they die (hopefully not! - but just in case: there are some more people left) ... some kind of experiment. I didn't play too much up to now, but still a bit.

... I will never be gone :)
After you die... Reincarnated as Yourself After death, you will be reborn again as yourself. You will live the same life, unbeknownst to you. However, you will have vivid moments of déjà vu, as you probably have now. |

Completely forgot about ... there's this group, Haldir's Council, who's filming something each year, always short movies of about five minutes. I wasn't able to be a part of it last year because I got sick, but nevertheless I am very proud what the others managed to achieve. We won something at Ring*Con 2007 video contest, I am not sure if it was one of the first prices, the second price or the first price in a certain category - but anway, we won :) The video can be found on YouTube as well:
Some more videos (not from us, but still) from miscellaneous years can be found here by the way, all contestants of the video contest, even though by far not all of them.

And while I am at it and before it's getting *too* late:

I hope all your wishes for the new year (and the rest of this) will get granted, you'll have some calm days, a bunch of presents and too much good food :-)

Since when is there an "Adult Content" drop down menu under the box for my text for a new entry? I knew "allow comments" and "hide comments" and all the other stuff but I JUST saw the "adult content" one?!?
ETA: Thanks to
londinensa for pointing me to a very interesting entry. I mean, the possibility of flagging your OWN POSTS as adult is quite fine, as long as it's a free decision and no must. I don't have to use it. But - WTF is that?
You now have the option to flag other people's content that you think is inappropriate for users under the age of 18. However, nothing will happen to that content unless multiple people flag it. Only then will it be sent to the Abuse Prevention Team for review.
WTF?!? Why should other people decide which entries are inappropriate? How do they want to avoid badasses from flagging entries just randomly? Or because they feel offended by it (and noone else!)? And what is this weired moderation queue?
Users who choose to flag another person's entry, journal, or community will be given five options: "Explicit Adult Content," "Offensive Content," "Hate Speech," "Illegal Activity," or "Nude Images of Minors." If the user flags the content as "Explicit Adult" or "Offensive Content," the content will automatically go into a moderation queue. If and when content has been flagged by several users, it will be sent to the Abuse Prevention Team to determine if an adult content setting is necessary. Both the "Explicit Adult Content" and "Offensive Content" settings will affect filtered search results (see below), but only the "Explicit Adult" setting will result in restricted viewing for those under the age of 18.
Brilliant, Lj, brilliant. Just when you think everything is maybe going to be fine again, you mess it up. Massively. So ... who wants to be the first one to flag this entry as inappropriate, huh?
Btw, the news article somehow cannot be flagged as inappropriate, illegal and such. I can fill out all the forms but then it says the form cannot be send. Coincidence? Sure ...
ETA2: Now I was able to flag it as "illegal content". According to the comments, they will get LOADS of those. *snickers*
ETA3: Completely forgot about this - the whole drama can be read here.
ETA4: There was another update (again only in
lj_biz and not in
news which doesn't really make it better. Voluntarily flagging your own entries is fine, but when it's voluntary - why let people flag other entries which they don't think are properly flagged? Voluntary means "You can". So why then should it be "This must be ...". Found an interesting comment which says that only 8% of all LJ accounts (or at least of those who entered their birthday) are under 18. 8%. All the troubles for 8%?

That's what my mother said a minute ago when seeing my while packing. Oh, talking to her about nothing than Ring*Con might have added to that *g* "Why are you so jiggered? You know all the stuff."
Yes, I know! But ... still.

I tried to play Sims a bit this afternoon - am still having serious problems which make it almost impossible to really play, it keeps crashing and I don't know why!. One of the dogs ran around and knocked over the trash bin, again. They love to do that. I said: "Oh, I have such pigs as dogs!" That moment the Nanny's van arrived, the Nanny stepped out, looked at the dog and said, quite loud and articulated: "Pig!"
WTF?!
WTF?!
I just opted out my personal journal and the community I run. I don't want to support them spying everyhwere. And yeah, sure, it's for statistical reasons only. Right ...
And I don't know this is a good way to keep already angry customers ...
Oh, and I hope the opting out really does opt everything out instead of just "Oh, we'll let them opt out and then we'll spy nevertheless." I do not really trust them. And looking at the comments, I don't seem to be the only one.
ETA: To opt out mine I just used that "set opt_exclude_stats 1" they stated, for opting out the community I used "set for craigparkerde opt_exclude_stats 1" which I got a confirmation for as well. Tip was found here.

Don't panic, I'm regressed to a five year old, but I found some old pictures of a trip to Legoland Did I really write Legolas first? Nah, not me. Never in Billund, Denmark, back in those good times there was none in Germany *g* Not too many picture, though, and not taken by myself, I was only six years old back then. So imagine Mini Me staring at those houses:

19.07.2007 Herford, Germany I went to the next bigger city because there was a New Zealand Maori band (called "WAI") announced and I got curious. It was lovely to hear that accent again *g* but the show itself was ... well, the base drum was much too loud so that you could almost hear no singing and such. Plus we had a bad seating behind the stage because we were quite late. Oh well. But when they sang a capella, it sounded very lovely.
