New Marketing Summit

Dr Who
 at the New marketing summit today long day I left home at 6 am and I will be lucky to get home by 9 pm tonight.

At the moment the Millenial's are telling us how to market to them and all I can think whenever they talk about their need for 'on demand' information is that they are the epitomy of the Sesame Street Generation.  They have their ideas and their agenda and they want to know how you fit into it? It's not about our product or service it's about what does my product or service have for them!  They admit to being 'self-centered' which all I can think is spoiled and self indulgent....they really do think that they are the only generation that has ever thought this way?  OMG how naive and blind they really are!

Every generation has thought of themselves in this manner, the cutting edge, the best generation, the me generation...this has been the thought going back forever...so I have a good laugh at these arrogant naive children who think they are god's gift.

Hitting the road

  • Oct. 10th, 2008 at 1:22 PM
my device
So we're all packed and ready to hit the road, the dogs and I. On or way to Plattsburg tonight to the hotel and then Coldwood tomorrow morning for the event! :)

This will be Buddy's first long trip, hotel room overnight, and SCA Event! We shall see how he does. Tiny will hopefully teach him the ropes ;) Thinking about it, Coldwood was Rocky & Tiny's first SCA Events as well so it is fitting. It will be very difficult to be there without Rocky though especially at night so I'm debating on whether or not to stay into the evening or just go back to the hotel with them.

A US Solder, held in Iraq over 15 months longer than her original commitment to the Army, saved a puppy some months ago. The puppy was scheduled to be shipped out of the war zone to the soldier's parents in MN by Baghdad Pups, but the military seized puppy en route to the airport. Now the puppy might be killed to punish the soldier.

Weekend Madness

  • Oct. 6th, 2008 at 2:28 PM
Tiny
So I did of course go to seek Beverly Hills Chihuahua Friday night!  It was GREAT!  And #1 at the box office this weekend.  For those of you at an age to remember the movie is a bit like the Benji movies of the 70's and 80's.  Dog gets lost, dog gets mixed up with bad guys, dog finds way home and bad guys get caught...just with a Chihuahua.  I liked the movie's message about dogs, they are not fashion accessories, dress-up dolls, or toys.  Owning a dog is a serious 'obligation' and a lifetime commitment to the animal.  Good message for the kids and their parents who were at this movie this weekend.

Saturday was Seneschal's Tea at my house.  I took the boys to get their nails trimmed in the morning and got Buddy a new harness he can't weasel his way out of!  The Tea went well we had a good time and got everything accomplished I had hoped without making it like a meeting.  We talking and brainstormed ideas and really got a lot accomplished.  And got to visit and have fun in the time too.  Boys had fun getting attention from everyone too.  I ended up crashing at 9 pm I was so exhausted from this week!

Sunday I went shopping at the mall in the morning, took a tour of the Camelot  housing in Berlin and met some very cool people I hope to get to know better once they move in!  Then I went to Kimbel's farm to meet buffpixie and </b></a>[info]and their friends for ice cream!  I got the kiddie size and it was too much!  But yummy orange and chocolate chip ice cream.  We then hung out shopped, and had coffee and talked for a while.  Then went off to find dinner, we ended up finding a new Monsoon Indian Restaraunt.  They have one in Maynard that I love and had no idea they also had one in Acton!  So got to have my favorite Butter Chicken YUMMY and to hang out with cool people!  A really great laid back day to top off a busy weekend.

Oh and while at Kimbell's I locked myself out of the car so thanks to </b></a>[info]for coming up with her key and opening my car for me!

Went home and watched Tivo and hung out with the puppies.  Did NOT want to get up this morning at all...arthritis flare

 * Grab the nearest book.

* Open the book to page 56.

* Find the fifth sentence.

* Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions if you want to.

* Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

Unbelievable

Some of you know about the house I rented in Bolton before I moved into my current apartment.  And all the things that were wrong and how horrible it was!  Well the landlady has passed and her kids are trying to sell the place.   Calgrey emailed me that it was on the market - http://www.realtor.com/realestate/bolton-ma-01740-1103547544/

This is a totally distorted ad.  This is a 2 family basically.  1 part is 3 bedrooms 1 bath and the other is a 1 bedroom 1 bath.  Wierd that the initial picture is the 1bed/1ba side where I lived for 3 years.

Now what you won't know from this is what horrible  condition this home is in.  It needs a new roof, new windows, new skylights as they all leak, there's no insulation, a new septic, new water pump, and the place was overrun with mice, rats, and squirrels.  The wiring needs to be totally redone, the heater for the small house I lived in needed to be replaced and much much more. since after I moved out the toilet ran and ran and overflowed and ended up flooding the entire 1st floor of the house!   The outside is overrun as well.

Oh and I hope they don't try to evict the poor Ground Hog that lives under the main house...he's HUGE gotta weight at least 30 lbs!  Loves to climb up the ladder and sleep on the roof of the house, eats the roses and other flowers.

Back when I lived there I might have given her 1/3 of that price for it...because it needs about 100K or more in work!!!

Oh and let's not forget that it's the oldest standing building in town...I have a feeling that the town would NOT approve of just tearing it down and puttng something else on the plot of land.

Let's say you're a young IT manager, in your 20s, 30s or even early 40s. It's not unheard of for you to put in 10-hour workdays in front of your computer, or some other user's. You try to eat something at least halfway healthy when you make it to the company cafeteria, but most days, you're crashing by 4 p.m.

Echocardiogram Day...

  • Oct. 1st, 2008 at 9:41 AM
Tiny
 Tiny went and had his Echocardiogram this morning.  He has a heart murmur so in order to be sure what type, how severe, and if he needed meds he had an echo this morning.  We've been waiting a month for an appointment!

There were several other dogs there including a little long haired female chihuahua that Buddy met when we were there 2 weeks ago.  Tiny was a big flirt with everyone schmoozing and getting attention as usual.

He was not happy in the echo, the tech tried to force him to his side and it hurt his back I think.  So I took over from the tech and got him on his side and held him for the technician.  The echo came out ok, he has a low-grade systemic heart murmur of the atrial valve.  They want to do yearly x-rays to monitor his heart.  But no meds or anything else are necessary.  He's in pretty good health for 10!

I also have to keep a watch on him because his blood work came back that he's been 'exposed' to lyme disease.  He doesn't actively have it but they want me to watch for developing symptoms.  I think he probably was exposed back when we lived in Bolton, where the yard had tons of Ticks and he was my little Tick magnet.  Him being black they were hard to find at times.

So he is back home with Buddy for the day...
