01:19 pm - Bruce Campbell is all good. . . Nothing can excuse Wendy's no longer giving you larger fries when you ask them to "biggie size" your meal.
But I did manage to find two new issues of Army of Darkness: Shop Till You Drop Dead. One cover includes Ash wielding a lightsabre!
Today is a good day, but it would have been better if Wendy's were a team player.
On second thought, as I was looking for a link for their bastard plans to reduce my fry intake, I found their section on animal welfare, and I'm quite pleased with their treatment of chickens. Maybe a chicken sandwich is in order. I don't usually eat it because of the methods of raising and transporting chickens. Call it a "bad run-in" with a transported chicken in my childhood. red_sput will know what I mean.
McDonald's isn't quite so descriptive of their initiatives, though, so I'm curious about their chicken, not that I eat it anyway.
Anyone know where I can get a myrtle branch? I need it to summon me a ghost. Current Mood: amused Current Music: "Truckstop Salvation", -JB

I'm not finding it as local, that's for sure. I'll get some somewhere.
Or else I'll get some from the craft store. They have fake branches. Nothing says it has to be real.

*spews coffee* Um, druid boy?
No, it's only hardy to zone 8. The only Myrtle 'round here would be a houseplant... got any friends down south?

Amazingly, ADF druids don't necessarily know anything about trees. Go figure.

Yeah. Not so amazing, really. But at least we know where my assumptions come from, n'est ce que pas?
Guess what? Wiccans don't neccessarily know anything about fertility or agriculture. Masons don't neccessarily know anything about building or architecture. Don't get me started. Makes me say things I shouldn't.

Very good points. We all have our assumptions about what people know/do based on stereotypes. They don't necessarily have anything to do with the real thing.
The bit about the fake branch was the Chaote talking. He doesn't care what gets used where.
A few here and there.

Then why does ChaoteBoy care whether it's myrtle or not?
*shrug*
Because it's one more paradigm shift that he doesn't have to make.
He's lazy.

LOL
I'd use blueberry and call it a damn day.
I'd suggest the spicy chicken sandwich.
Tempting. I hear they aren't all that spicy, though.
It's true, at least for someone who regularly eats spicy food. It's just enough flavor to taste it, though.
The key is to ask for a regular one.
They will give you a spicy one instead.
If you ask for the spicy one directly, you're done for.
Actually, the new (?) spicy chicken sandwiches at Hardee's are tasty and fairly spicy. They do come with lettuce and mayo and other things, if you don't like that, but one difference from most of Hardee's recent food is that they're not 1000% bigger than everything else on the market. They're 99¢ and probably the size of a McChicken, old-school.

I have noticed that Biggie Fries have been getting smaller. Or, Alice-wise, I am growing larger*.
I read "myrtle branch" as "myrtle beach". Three times. I think I need a vacation.
* I now have Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" playing in my head. Cool. "One piiiilll makes you larger/Aaaaand one pill makes you small." *runs off singing*

*grin*
Funny, I've actually been listening to the Sanctuary version, which isn't *all* that different...
I suggest you check a myrtle tree. In less smartass remarks, check an arboretum. Or a place that sells trees. Or, find someone who knows their trees and get them to take you to a woods and show you a myrtle tree. Maybe ask shes_unreal. Lunch tomorrow, perhaps?
hmm, i read that they aren't local.
definitely go with fake.
maybe you'll get a fake ghost.
who you conjuring?
What about the conservatory? Or some botanical-ish gardens?
Might be illegal, but I'm sure you could manage.
Then again, this is assuming we HAVE some... surely Columbus is a big enough city for garden-y stuff like that.
Personally, I figure since turtle rhymes with myrtle if you just take a branch, paint it with turtles, and then make the turtle hand-sign over it three times, it's practically the same thing.
So if they aren't making the fries bigger, what exactly are they sizing up? The pop? That's hardly worth the extra cost.
or the extra trip to the toilet.
trust me.
PETA had a major campaign against McDonald's a little while back... you should check on their website to see if they're still pissed off at them.
Might have to look into that, and figure out exactly what the issue they were concerned with was.
yay, you used my username. Maybe one day I'll get more lj friends. I'm sure most trucks are better prepared for chickens then the one we happened upon in Kansas about 15 years ago:-P I'm sure the chicken wasn't trying to attack us.
You can always get more friends by agressively friending and commenting. It works wonders. :)
Those chicken transport conditions were pretty bad, though.
Mostly the treatment of poultry but also swine and beef cattle. I remember when they had campaigns against Wendys and I think Burger King before that. |
