Yeah I haven't used my LJ much, so sue me X^D
Let's see here, quite a few interesting events happened. It was definitely fun having
cammiluna around the house after the Comic Con. I didn't have much to report as quite honestly I'm never good at giving con reports (they're so huge!). But I can definitely say two things: it was fun and it was crowded >_o Geez the traffic around the exhibit hall was a pain and it felt like a relief after when you were able to walk without someone else five inches from your face. More importantly, it was really cool just being there and taking in the sights. I wasn't really much of a picture taker (I in fact forgot my camera), but my friends took more than enough, and I'll find 'em later. The time I enjoyed seeing a new place is something I won't forget, even though I'm really crappy at writing a report (or maybe just lazy?). I'll get more on that later since I really wanna share a couple other things.
They relate to college :^D I've been at a community college for three years (first year I took less classes) but soon I'll be heading to Towson University for two years. This will happen for my Spring '09 term which means for the first time I'll be out on my own! Isn't that lovely? I got support from an IRL friend who will have an apartment right by the university and will split the rent. My parents keep telling me not to worry about money, I guess they have a college fund sorted out (they never tell me these things >_o). This particular term at the community college is my last and I'm not too concerned about it. Observe my schedule:
Monday/Wednesday:
Information Security Capstone 10:30 am-11:45 am,
Network Defense and Countermeasures (Monday only) 6 pm-8:45 pm
Tuesday/Thursday:
Cyber Forensics 9:30 am-10:45 am,
American Sign Language 1 (Thursday only) 7 pm-9:45 pm.
Friday: Work at library 10:30 am-5 pm
Saturday: Work at library 9:30 am-5 pm
An easy going schedule, I retain my usual work hours during the term. A shame that I'm leaving the job when I go to Towson, I can't make too much time with my 2 year raise (pay is still nothing though, $7.47/hour). Two classes are once a week which means aside from morning classes, I have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Some of the classes weren't very flexible with scheduling, hence the late night classes. I shouldn't really underestimate the computer classes I'm taking (they surprise you right off the gate) and the ASL class I'm taking as part of a diversity requirement from the community college. Upon transfer I have pretty much all general education classes out of the way, leaving two years to deal with dedicated information security classes at Towson.
