Comic con is crazy. I am amazed I haven't been trampled by my fellow nerds.

Went up north with the family this weekend. Very busy, but fun. I have so many pics from then and previous events to unload here.

I have so many errands to run before Wednesday to prep for the San Diego trip.

I spent too much at ShopKo tonight even though everything I bought was a necessity (I wait too long to buy things I need).

So many panels at Comic Con I want to go to! I'm having trouble picking & choosing and trying to organize things (wtf the autograph tickets for Matt Groening are handed out in a diff room during "The Simpsons" panel).

Oh hey and I signed up for the Comic Con Blood Drive. I figure I can knock that out after lunch on Thursday since it's a pretty quiet day.

God I hope I'm not forgetting anything...

Time to focus on the good stuff - some of the Comic Con schedule is out! How am I going to choose between all these neat panels? D:

... who wants to train for the Disney World Marathon with me? :D *crickets* Anyone?

My friend Sam went with her boyfriend this year, and it sounds kinda awesome. The Half-Marathon is already closed! Ugh not sure I could train that fast for a full marathon. There's also a 5K, but why would I go all the way to Florida to do a 5K? :P

You have to be able to finish in 7 hours (i.e. 16 min mile). My mile time is about 11:10 though I'm sure I can't keep that up for several hours. Hmmm... it's also $125 to enter, but you get some neat stuff along with it.

I really do love Disney World. I've only been twice, but both times were great. I know Jeff wants to go sometime in the future with my nephews, though Mom was talking about doing that maybe the summer after I graduate.

It's something to think about for sure. Also something somewhat bold that I wouldn't normally do.

I just found out from spiralstairs that two panels at Comic Con I really want to see are happening Sunday at noon. Of course I booked our departing flight for 11:45 'cuz I figured nothing good would be happening Sunday. Also I hadn't thought about her being there with her and car, and then storing our luggage in said car until a later flight *sigh*

I looked into changing my flight to a later time, but the only other AirTran flight leaves at 10 pm, arrives in Mil-town at 10 am the next day, and would cost over $200 to change to. I did that in LA, but I sure as heck don't have the money to do that now. I even looked into leaving on a different airline, but that makes even less sense because at least with AirTran my balance from my previous flight would carry over and I'd only have to pay the remaining balance. And leaving Monday makes less sense too 'cuz where would I stay?

I suppose I should stop whining, just accept it, and don't let it hinder the trip when it comes. Well, ok I'm probably going to pout a bit more, but who cares. If I can see Dan before the panel that would be awesome. If not, I'll give my little WI souvenir to spiralstairs and send my well wishes with it.

I still haven't gone on school visits and I really do need to do that. I won't have to turn in a portfolio until next Fall, but I'd like to get a feel for the places beforehand. My friend Brittany wanted to go in August. Not sure I'd be able to afford that, but maybe a long weekend in Fall semester would be nice. :)

Oh and turns out my newest bro-in-law has a brother that lives in San Diego. I probably should get his number in case anything goes wrong.

The DK5K went really well this morning. I ran the whole thing, only slowing down once and got a time of 31:10. Not too bad, but I'd like to shave a few minutes off my time next year.

I took a shower and nap as soon as I got home (around 10 maybe?) and slept until almost 4. But that's partly due to the fact that I was supposed to get out of work at 11 last night and didn't get to leave until 1:30 am. At least that's extra money for Comic Con!

I am full of delicious katsudon from Izumi's. :D The new roomies and I went across the street for a little 'getting to know you' luncheon. So far they are very awesome.

I got paid this week so I can start putting Comic Con money away finally. I also figured out I get paid the week I'm in San Diego so I'm not too worried.

I did have to pay my speeding ticket today :P I went to the court house (which is a rather nice, big ole building btw) and took the offer for less points. Apparently they don't do less of a fine (though they do in Port Washington) so whatever.

Might pick up an extra shift or two because I don't work until Wednesday. It'll be nice to have the weekend off for once.

I need a happier update up in here.

- I think I'm gonna do the plein air competition this week. Should be interesting.

Way behind on posts. I was going to do a picspam with pics I took on my phone, but it tweeked out on me and they disappeared. Lame!

Cedarburg Plein Art Competition

I don't know how long they've been doing it, but you always know Strawberry Festival is around the corner when the painters set up their easels around town (lulz we are so "small town" it hurts).

I don't think I'd win overall, but it'd be interesting to see if anyone would buy a painting of mine. Part of the money goes to the Artists' Guild, but you get to keep 65% of the profit.

Oh hey I need an easel... I think I can get a cheap one at Utrecht. Or ask one of Mom's artist friends. It's an excuse to ask off work too.

Ooo and I could break out that strawberry dress/jumper I made a couple years back. Actually I went to Wal-Mart recently to pick up from art supplies and I grabbed some patterns. Once I get paid I'd like to pick out some fabrics. They have patterns for scrubs too! :D I wanna make some for Kari!

Ugh I can't wait to get paid... Mom keeps offering money, but I hate borrowing from her. I'd rather just wait it out.

Also Lu moved out today. She'll still be in the area until August though so I'd like to hang out before she goes back to China. Rachel is in Boston until next week so I have the place to myself. :3 I should have peoples over.

Hey, government! Where's my stimulus check? I want free money that I don't technically deserve!

Unrelated stuff - I wanna be Indiana Jones for Comic Con and/or when the movie comes out :D All I need is a fedora and shirt. And maybe a bag. Oh and a whip... uh where can I get one of those anyway?

Also last night's "House" was so good. Really well written, great lighting, and well shot. It's a 2 parter too and I'm dying to see next week's. I haven't been this captivated by an episode in a long time. I have the feeling the series finale will have me yelling in anguish for more.

Had to change my layout pic at least for a little while. I can't help but be excited about the new Indiana Jones even though there's a chance it'll disappoint me... but I'm keeping up my hopes that it'll be good.

I bought a British movie mag (Empire) with some great pics and interviews. Wooow Cate Blanchett looks so good! <3 Kinda hardcore, cold, yet a tad sexy. (Perhaps a good cosplay for Comic Con?) Harrison doesn't look too terrible either :3

I need a new mood theme >.>
