I haven't pimped this yet so I am now pimping it mightily! VidUKon is a brand new Vidding con being held in the UK and set up by the fantastic halcyon_shift. It will run from the 24th Oct to the 26th Oct in Milton Keynes and will have everything from panels, vidshows tea and cakes. It should be a great weekend to meet all your fannish friends to talk/watch vids. I won't be going myself this year, unfortunately, but I am seriously hoping there will be enough numbers to make it viable for next as I really want to go. So this is where I pimp - you all need to go sign up! It'll be fun! Come take a holiday in Britain!

This was made during my old comp's death throes. As a result it isn't quite as flash as originally conceived (only the title sequence remains of Charmax's fancy Torchwood vid that never was) nevertheless I feel my fondness for team Torchwood does come across and that's the main thing. Gwen and Jack have the best smiles in fandom.

What struck me most about the differences between LoM and A2A wasn't so much the difference between 70s and 80s but more the socio-economic and regional differences. My 1980s childhood looked much more like LoM than A2A. I went out of my way to make comparisons between Alex's Middle class 80s London and Sam's working class Manchester. In case anyone was wondering the title sequence was heavily influenced by "The Sweeney."

I've submitted my non-attending premiere vid today. YAY!

I really enjoyed this multi-fandom video today. aruna7 has done a fantastic, energetic, coherent job with so many shows/movies represented.

This meme is doing the rounds and I've not much else to say, so why not!

1. Go to your desktop and press the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).

2. Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and doing a Paste (CTRL + V).

3. Post the picture on your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop if you want. You can explain why you prefer such a look or why it is full of icons. Things like that.

4. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktops as well.



As you can see my wallpaper is lesbian themed cus that is where my head is at the moment. I made it only yesterday using caps from the movie Bound. I have a lot of femslash/lesbian source on my computer at the moment because of 2 WIPS. Anyway, the wall is just a kinda inspiration. My desktop is pretty tidy right now, it's never usually so neat especially when I have vidding and art projects on the go.

Oh yes, and that is a "Learn to Drive" application icon on my desktop. I am also a Scrabble fiend on the side. Shall I hide my head in shame? The "Something Beautiful" folder is a third vid project which is on hold for now because unfortunatly someone else has recently released a vid using that song. That's all cool and totally different from my project but still, I've put it on the backburner. And it's not like I don't have anything else to be doing! *g*

The International Day of Femslash is a day of celebration.

On the 19th July, 2008, the on-line femslash community has an opportunity to raise its head high and proclaim to the world its delight in all things femslash. Whether you're a seasoned writer, with hordes of ardent fans, or a timid newcomer, you have the chance to make your voice heard and to help put femslash well and truly on the map.

Simply post your stories, videos, graphics, essays, poems or other femslash related works to an archive, community, group or forum on 19th July, 2008, to show your support. Where you choose to post your creative efforts is up to you; although, we do hope to gather together an extensive list of web-sites, lj communities, Yahoo Groups and forums which support our efforts, but feel free to post widely to wherever femslash is welcome.

For too many years, femslash has been treated as the distant cousin to the het and slash king and queen of fandom, so this is our opportunity to demonstrate to ourselves, as much as anyone else, that we are a force to be reckoned with.

Spread the word.

Our aim is to provoke a positive avalanche of femslash material from across a wide range of fandoms, languages and geographical locations. However, the only way we're going to manage to do this is if everybody pulls together and not only posts on the day, but spreads the word beforehand so that as many people as possible are aware of the event.

Hi *waves* yep, it's been some time. I have my new computer, it's all sorted and it's "The Beast" with red flashing lights like a cylon. 'Tis cool. Vista has been absolutly fine since I took off all the extra crap that slows it down. It really is no bother. I had heard all these horror stories before I went and bought it but now I can't see what all the fuss was about. Pfft I say. *g* I think I'm pretty much ready for Vividcon now, Club Vivid and theme show vids have been uploaded and I have a non-attending premieres vid that may or may not be ready in time. Talking of vids, I've been searching around for a better streaming service because Imeen is really not doing much for me anymore. I would even go as far as to say Youtube is better. So, with that, and not finding any other real alternatives (Vimeo and Veoh don't work for me) I have decided to upload my vids there. I will still be keeping Imeem I'm just wanting that extra option.

So, my computer has been failing for about 6 months now but over the last 2, things have been dire. I am limping to the finish line with my second Club Vivid vid and then with help from the bank of mom and dad (Max's) I am getting this The Dell XPS 630. It's an awesome monster of a machine!
