I'm divorcing livejournal. For several months, livejournal's owners, SixApart, have been changing the corporate culture of livejournal, and I don't want to be here anymore. Want to know more? Here's a list of meta on the subject, and a long list of grievances. I no longer want to patronise a company that equates fanart with child pornography, provides atrocious customer service, deletes customers accounts because of material that is f-locked (or in one case, already removed from the journal), foists corporate advertising on us and generally treats us like dirt. I deserve better than that. We all deserve better than that. ETA: and livejournal/SixApart allowing other people to flag my entries as offensive has pushed me over the edge, and I've not privatised my entire livejournal. Apologies to the people who still read my fic archived here, but you're just going to have to come across to insanejournal to read it now. All of my fiction is now on my new journal, indexed here. There're no guarantees the new hosting service won't be arseholes too, but that's not a reason to stay on livejournal. This journal will no longer be updated. The same house rules will apply on the new journal as here. Most posts will be friends-locked, and I'll friend just about anyone who asks, as long as you're not someone I've had issues with before. |
