    one more thing...
but a certain fella from Mokena called me today! :-)
    7:50 pm
Where to begin....went to karaoke last night, also I prolly should have stayed home and slept. Had a great time...Tim said he's interested in me (or something to that effect) Jared bought me a beer. Jared works for a Cat dealer in Houston and is in town for a conference. He and about five other guys were drinking all night at the bar. He wanted me to go back to the Paradice hotel with them and party more, and seemed rather disappointed when I wouldn't. I said I'd go out with them tonight if he called and told me where...some unidentified person called, but didn't leave a message, so I can't very well join them, now can I? But I suppose it's all for the best. Meeting new guys is tricky. It's too hard to not be either frigid or a tease.

Today started sucky. I didn't get enough sleep, having been out late, and I kept waking up in the middle of the night. I had a meeting at eight this morning, and I wanted to be up in time to exercise and make my lunch. I did wake up, but I was sill tired and in extreme f$&*ing pain. I spent an hour waiting for the pamprin to kick in and trying to talk myself out of calling in sick. So I went to work and eventually stopped hurting. The day actually seemed to be going quite well for a while. Then I ended up staying two hours late and still not getting stuff done. I have decided that my job doesn't suck, I just suck at my job.

So here I am at home. There's quite the lovely thunderstorm going on outside, and Patches doesn't seem to mind it. Perhaps I will go outside and watch it, and eat a supper that blatantly ignores the fact that I'm supposedly on a diet. Blargh.

    57.76%
According to Doug at Kauth & Mayeur (not to be confused with Doug at AutoZone/Advance Auto Parts) and bluebook.com, the repairs to my car will be equal to 57.76% of the price my car could theoretically fetch if I sold it. Wow. But I get it back tomorrow, assuming I'll actually be able to leave work, get the car, and return to work without crossing a picket line. That's right, folks, UAW local #XXXX may strike. Fun times in Peoria.

    one more thing...
Saturday E-chan and I went bead shopping. Am I fully inducted into the cult, now? I helped her beat her previous record for number of bead shops visited in one day, thanks to the lady in Hobby Lobby who told us about Free to Bead in Peoria Heights, which happened to be close to Ben Franklin. Combined with Michael's, that's 4! I also made a belt! Unfortunately, I tried it on with the dress, and I think it's too long. Arrggh, need to stop thinking of bad things.

it's red and fast, but i don't know what all the buttons do
So, for those of you who haven't heard....

I was on my way to see Ellen yesterday, and since I live on the north side of Peoria, I took some back roads up to I-80 and was tooling along to Chi-town. I got to Ottawa and decided to fuel up myself and my car. After fueling the car, I was driving along to Taco Bell when the engine stopped. I managed to make it to the side of the road, at least. Some nice hitchhiker pushed me onto a side road out of the way. I wandered about, attempting to find a mechanic open on Sunday and failed, of course. I then called AAA and waited for a tow truck, which eventually came. It turned out to be unairconditioned, which i find rather annoying, especially as i had nothing to keep my hair out of my face. Dustin and Amanda turned out to be pretty cool, and the two-hour ride home was ok. We left the car on the street outside the shop, seeing as how they lock up the yard. Anti-Joel came and picked me up (yay Anti-Joel!)and took me to rent a car. Unfortunately, the effort did not seem to be very good for his car (sorry).

So, the smallest cars enterprise had were full-size, so i got a grand prix. It's dark red. I spend half the time enjoying it, a quarter of the time trying to figure out what all the buttons (which are also red) do, and a quarter of the time trying to convince myself not to fall in love with it. It's very sweet. Kind of dangerous, as I usually judge my speed by how loud my engine is instead of the speedometer. I wind up going faster than I mean to without realizing it. But it's got some get-up-and-go, and very smooth ride.

And then there's work. We've got a supplier in doing some work on some test equipment they sold us, and I get to make sure it gets done right (fun, huh). And I'm worried that I may have forgotten to tell them something a month ago that may cause problems now. Add that to several tiny things, and it gets a bit stressful,

Oh, yeah, I didn't mention the final outcome with the car, because I don't know. I took them the key today, and they said they'd look at it when they could. Unfortunately, they'd been making appointments for Friday. They might be able to at lease diagnose it earlier, seeing as how it's sitting right there and all. I'm worried they're going to call me and tell me there's nothing wrong with it, other than it can't start. Or worse, that I did something stupid and killed it. ARRGGH.

    It's not my fault!
It's been three months, figured I should update the old blog. I've been gone the past week, on a family trip. The goal was Yellowstone, and we made it there, but the trip also encompassed Lincoln, NE, Devil's Tower, and Little Bighorn Battlefied National Monument (say that 5 times fast). It was a good trip; we managed not to kill each other, although there was a close call with a bison. (I didn't piss it off, Laura, I swear!)

However, according to Joel O., I've "missed a rather chaotic set of changes" "if you were here, I could blame your influence, but oh well" So, my condolences to those who require condolences. However, there seems to be a chance that Lyzdon will be returning, which will be rather cool.

    out of the loop
Well, I went to Psi Phi tonight; it was good. I was commended for poinging. However, after the meeting, I had a talk with Joel F. and discovered that I'm rather out of the loop. There was all sorts of stuff going on that I knew nothing about. Of course, the most major events were very recent, so I couldn't have.

Anyway, I realized that I'd be more in the loop if I read livejournals more often, and that I should probably update mine. I've been working full-time at Cat for a week and a half now, but I don't get paid until the end of the month (arggh). Ellen is going to move back to Peoria and live with me! I get to move to the new aparment in 30 days!!!!!!! (I'm very happy about this.)

So, yeah, that's the news. There are many people coming into town this weekend, so we should have some good times.

can you hear the wedding bells ring?
So...wow. Monica just stopped by to tell me she's engaged (not that she announced it, she simply waved her sapphire-and-diamond bedecked finger at me). This is exciting news. I want to talk about it with people, but they're all asleep or at bars or something. This combined with news of my brother's engagement two weeks ago makes me suspect that March is betrothal season. EEEEEE!
