I just read a "You know you are from Newtown when" list over at Facebook. Um, wow. Now, I know that I wasn't the most socially aware high schooler. I didn't find out that folks were selling heroin at the high school until after I was in college. Maybe grad school. But damn. Things sure aren't the way I remember them.

I remember that Drug Center was a place to hang out, but not THE place. That was the Grand Union parking lot.

Everyone had a Volvo station wagon - yup. That hasn't changed. Same with going to Town Hall. Or a party at the Amber Room.

I've heard of The Falls, but never found out where they actually were.

20 minutes to get to a friend's house, sure. Same with the Newtown Bee and photos in the paper.

That's about 8 of the 47. I guess I just can't relate to kids these days.
