Portishead - "The Rip" |

This has pretty much been the best weekend I have had in a LONG time, maybe ever?
Friday, I got paid from work then went down to Tampa for the Rays game...fun experience, we won 5-2. I got Outback at the stadium, then Dippin' Dots in the 7th inning. Afterwards, we went out to Sonic and the manager offered to buy my wallet from me for an unnamed price. I strongly considered it, but kind of wanted a wallet with me the next few days.
Saturday was Julie's birthday. I got a haircut, ran some errands (picking up new clothes and stuff), had lunch at Grillsmith, and then went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. Had some great pics taken (check the new Facebook picture!) and whatnot. Afterwards we went to a karaoke lounge, where they had individual rooms. That kicked ass. The whole night was just a lot of fun, and I met some great new people. Plus I got to see Julie for the last time till she moves.
Today I just went to lunch with the parents and then drove back up to Gainesville.
I got this awesome painting of Tebow from my parents. It's now hanging in my room above the switch for the lights and fan, near the door. It's sweet.
That's all I have to say about that.

| Smash Bros. ruminations |
[25 Jun 2008|07:03pm] |
I was thinking about how many more installments of Super Smash Bros. they could have, and that the only way to KEEP coming out with them is to have new characters. But who else could they add? Well...
* Re-add Roy and Mewtwo. Shouldn't have been taken out of this one, anyway. * Dixie Kong. How f'n awesome would it be to float around and pick shit up with your hair? * King K. Rool. They have King Dedede, it's not a stretch to have this bad guy, too. * Knuckles & Tails. Both solid additions.
It might be a stretch, but...
* King Boo or Petey Piranha. They're in Mario Kart, and Petey even makes an appearance in Brawl. They could work in Smash Bros, but you never know. * Shadow. While he'd likely be a Sonic copy, he's apparently the second most popular character in Sonic. Plus he's pretty sweet. * Mega Man. I don't care if he's in or not, but popular demand says yes. I think it'd be a nice mix if he is. * Bowser Jr. Just for the hell of it.
Just please, don't put in... * Any peripheral characters like the babies (Baby Mario), Daisy, or Amy or those other Sonic animals. * Dr. Robotnik/Eggman. * More Pokemon. We have like 8, that's enough.

So many things to talk about.
Just got done coaching kids in football. It was all-around awesome. I won't be doing it in the fall, but I'll probably do it in the spring. I had a blast. (you can see photos of the kids and of games here)
I got a call Saturday that told me my grandmother (on my mom's side) died. Really, it's for the best, considering she's been in declining health for years. I was a little surprised to get it this past weekend; a year ago, I would have expected it, 6 months ago I would have expected it, it just came from nowhere though. The funeral is Thursday.
One of my roommates is driving me crazy. First off, he got a goddamn dog. Now, his girlfriend's apartment complex doesn't allow dogs. Our complex doesn't allow dogs. He already has his girlfriend's cockatiels in his room, but apparently they decided it's a good idea to buy a fucking dog. I just have no idea at what point they decided it was a GOOD idea to buy a dog. The dog sits in his room and whines all day, and smells.
So, aside from that, he's also taking my glasses and silverware and other kitchen things. It was no big deal with I saw an occasional used cup in the sink, I can wash that out. But EVERY day I go to the kitchen and I have no glasses or anything to eat with. So I have to constantly wash everything. I'm also finding his food on my food shelves in the refrigerator (there are three shelves, three roommates, pretty clear right?), which really isn't that big of a deal...except every day I have to f'n rearrange everything.
I am probably making a bigger deal about everything than it is (except the dog - that has to stop), but everything compounding kind of drives me crazy.
Anyhoo, how are you all?

So I've had this small cold for the last 2 weeks. It doesn't really bother me persistently, but it just won't go away. I've been using Tylenol Cold, and it helps a bunch; I feel normal while using it. But once I wake up the next morning, it's back.
F'n hell.
A bit of good news: Indiana Jones comes out tomorrow! Woo hoo!
LOST season finale in a week, and Kate may be visiting Gainesville.
Plus I've been coaching kids in football.
Life is good (aside from the never-ending cold).

I don't know what it is, but women always have problems having roommates. I know very, very few guys with roommate troubles. And most of the time, it's just stuff like "He's a slob" or "he's a douche," but women are freakin' psychos when it comes to bad roommates. I've heard stories about throwing things, how people are literally crazy, how they'll plot against their roommates, they'll go weeks without speaking to each other, etc. Even if they're friends, they have roommate problems.
I've never had serious issues with my roommates. I think most guys brush it off and don't care. I don't know why, but pretty much every chick I know has a problem with her roommates, save a small handful. It's an inverse for the guys.

Today has been one of the best days I've had in a long while. Really, this last week has been great.
* Got a Wii and Super Smash Bros * turned 21 Thursday * Weekend of shenanigans, including the Orange and Blue game and playing football. * Mythbusters last night
And as for today, not only did I begrudgingly go to class (and feel better about myself for doing so), I got to get a nap later, and found out Campus Lodge is giving me a check. Woo hoo! I had to run errands, but Best Buy did not have the ink I need for my printer, nor did it have the album I was looking for, but that's fine...I got the Wii LAN adapter, so I'm online now!
Super Smash Bros. Brawl friend code: 3866-8241-1571.
I was also able to download some Virtual Console games: Donkey Kong Country (SNES) and Mario Kart 64! ...I'm never getting work done again.
My new wallet came today, and while it's not as nice as I had hoped, it's a pretty good wallet, in terms of pockets and stuff. I'm excited.
Overall, extremely productive, and fun. This is thankfully not a hectic week (unlike the last few), but I'm sure the next about 2 weeks will be awful.
Take care.

I need a new wallet. I've been browsing, and some are expensive (like, $70-100 or more!), but I'm considering buying this one. What does everyone think? (if you don't know what it's from, check out the Youtube vid below)
Pros: * it's a wallet that says "Bad Mother Fucker" on it. * It looks like the inside is what I'm looking for, and it's leather, which is nice. * It's reasonably priced, I can order it online, and have it here in a few days, rather than having to continue shopping. * need I repeat myself? It says "Bad Mother Fucker" on it!
Cons: * the shtick of having a wallet that has BMF on it will wear off. * It might not be the best thing to take out at work, business meetings, and in front of the parents.
Thoughts?

St. Patrick's Day is the most BS "holiday." Most of the people who celebrate it aren't Irish. I hate how everyone runs around wearing green...and the douchebags who pinch you if you're not wearing green.
It's really just an excuse to drink - which I have no problem with (and embrace) - but I hate this ridiculous day.

I'm now looking for candidates for people who want to go get "lost" on an island. This isn't going to be some shitty island, this'll have some water, jungle/trees, and possibly animals to eat. Also this isn't permanent, but is likely to be an extended thing.
Looking for 3 or 4 guys (positions probably full already), 3 or 4 girls (already have one). I want an even number of each, this island ain't getting crowded.
You can take only what you can bring in a regular sized, carryon suitcase. As in, a few changes of shirts, pants, underwear and socks, maybe a tarp for tent making? One set of knives, no guns, maybe some rope. An emergency medical kit. Generally, stuff you would actually find on a plane.
No f'n generators. Nothing fancy. I'll get a specified list when it gets closer to traveling time.
Knowledge of camping, fishing, hunting, etc. is great, but not necessary.
I'm thinking of doing this early summer, maybe mid-summer.
Who's interested?

I hate it how you can't say you're Atheist without people freaking out. Assholes who run around bashing God and making fools of themselves give Atheists a bad name. I always have to say "I'm Atheist - but not an angry one, I'm borderline Agnostic."
It's like I come with a disclaimer.
