12:01 pm - At home, sick :( We came back from France yesterday evening at around 10.00 and we basically went to bed straight after heheh, it was a 12 hour trip back home on a bus, plus I seem to have caught someone else's cold with the recycled air in there LOL, so I wasn't feeling too great on the way back home.
I still put my alarm to go to work this morning but I had a terrible night, my throat is killing me and I am sniffling and sneezing like crazy so I rather stay and get better instead of bugging everyone else with my virus. I'll go back to work as soon as I feel better.
I'll elaborate more on the trip later but for now it can be summarized in: food, food, more food, lots more food, wine, more wine, lots more wine, champagne, more champagne, lots more champagne, more food, more wine, more champagne, golfing, more food and wine and champagne. Heaven. (and no, I didn't get drunk, not even once. We were all just warm and tipsy once after having tried champagne on an empty stomach, since lunch came after.)
It was a pleasure and it reinforces my statement that if I ever win the lottery I will be spending most of my money in restaurants (and liposuctions ;) )
It was to be expected, all those kilos I lost seem to have come back in these past four days, but I really didn't hold back at all. So I will have to work hard again to catch up, but it's okay, I can happily say I didn't miss a thing and I tried it all. :D
I don't think I can go to the gym tonight (or this week depending how my cold develops) so catching up will have to wait till I am healthy again.
In the meantime it's time for a nice warm blankie, vitamins, paracetamol and a cup of tea for me.

11:10 am - Whoa It's pouring here!! With hail and lightning and all!
I still want to go downtown to exchange my bras, but buienradar.nl tells me I should wait a couple of hours LOL!
The cats ran away in a panic fit when the hail started hitting the livingroom window, silly beasties.

10:34 pm - Guess I'm officially old ;P Today I got for the first time an "invitation" for a uterus cancer check-up. The letter says they send this invitation to women between 30 and 60 years old every 5 years, and since I now fit the profile I am welcome to pop by the doctor.
Meh, I'm not thirty yet dammit! :P Still 23 days to go!!
Oh well, the check up's for free so I might drop by sometime soon and make sure everything's in order.

11:44 am - Lazy sunday :) It's been a nice weekend so far. Yesterday we did a bit of shopping for groceries, and then I headed downtown to buy a few things I needed. Well, not really _needed_, more like I _wanted_ hehehe, so my loot ended up being three bras, a belt, a puzzle and a bottle of Sake.
I think the belt was that I really needed the most, my old one is completely worn out and falling appart so it was about time I got a new one. So yeah, I am happy for my purchases except for the bras, I got the wrong size duh, so I gotta go change them sometime next week. (I am free either tuesday or wednesday, to compensate for the last friday I had to work)
Work friday was very very busy for a change, so at least I had a productive feeling rather than a "why did I come here anyway if there is nothing to do" feeling. In the end we did a good job and managed to catch up and sort out some pending cases.
Yesterday evening I spent playing Ocarina of Time. I made good progress but I got stuck at some point so I had to cheat. ;p Bad Nichie! (It's more satisfactory when you discover the secret yourself, but after running around for hours in frustration with no results, the online walkthroughs are the best thing ever invented)
So yeah, that's about it! Plans for today: not much LOL. Take a shower, do the laundry, and be more lazy. Gotta love weekends like these... :D Current Mood: lazy

10:18 am - Zomgomgomgomg :D
Today I stepped up on the scale and I saw a number displayed there that I hadn't seen in FOREVER! I grabbed Poes off the bed and did the Mario Galaxy Luma Dance with him out of excitement. (If you're wondering what that is, it's not a meme you will find in Youtube or something. That's just me waltzing around the room, humming the Comet Obervatory song, this time with a cat in my arms. ;) )
Poes didn't look too thrilled so I just put him down quickly and went on with my celebration all by myself.
I'm quite excited! Who would have thought that in order to loose some weight, all I had to do was EAT MORE!! And not just carrots and celery, you know? :D We've been looking at the numbers and it looks like both Jeroen and myself could use some more protein though, we'll see how we can work that in in our diets.
Well, we've also been hitting the gym 3 times a week and I think my running program's also helped me a lot. I feel good!
*Does the Luma Dance with you all*
Plans for today: I've gotten up semi-early in case they call me from work. (Two colleagues are/were sick so I told them that if it was really necessary, they could give me a call and I could pop by the office) So far so good, no phone call yet, so I think I will do some clean-up around the house. There's laundry to be done and ironed, I need to put the dishes in the dishwasher and then back in the cupboards, and just general dusting and vacuuming. I'll see how much I can accomplish today if I don't get the phonecall. ;)

10:23 am - On to week 4... Breaktie time!
So I made it through week 3 of the running program , and I just took a look at week 4 and it sort of scares me kind of sort of LOL! Last week it seemed heavy enough, so let's see how I cope this time. (I am bound to be tired tonight cause I also came to work by bike, gotta take advantage of the sunny weather!)
It's not too warm though, I actually had to put on my gloves this morning.
We had fun in the weekend, we went to a b-day on saturday evening and the rest of the time we spent it at home being lazy ;) I made some more progress on Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and I only cheated a few times ;)
So yeah, all in all it was a good weekend, nice and relaxed!

10:40 pm - RIP Mickey Jeroen's dad just called a while ago, their cat was not feeling well at all, and after a visit to the vet, they decided they would put her to sleep.
The beastie was very old already, and since May or so she was already having problems walking due to urinary issues, mainly kidney problems. It went better for a while but since a few days ago she started getting sick again. The vet said her kidneys were probably failing so it was for the best to put her to rest.
She was an old, happy and very loved cat and we'll miss her a lot! She'd always welcome us with purrs and loud mews; walking into their house won't be the same without her enthusiastic headbutts and greetings.

12:23 pm - :) Dinner friday was fun, the food was great and since they also sell cocktails I had the chance to drink two very yummy margaritas, mmmm. :) I had some carpaccio salad as a starter (which was kinda huge) and some beef fajitas as a main course. For dessert, it was Flan, which was more or less some sort of creme brulee (not the real flan as we know it in Mexico) but it was tasty all right. (I did go over my calories LOL, but screw it, once in a while it's ok! ;) ) So yeah, had a good time with the colleagues and enjoyed the food all right.
On the way back to the station I had to go down the street where the creepy dude was last time, but the street was deserted this time so no scary guys approached me. It sort of gave me an uneasy feeling though, it was waaaay too quiet! I looked at the clock and I would juuuust about make it to my bus if I walked-jogged LOL, but at that moment I saw a bus coming down the road, and it turns out I was JUST standing by a bus stop. I thought if he could take me to the station it would save me a lot of time and I didn't have to run all the way there.
I flagged him and he stopped all right, but scolded me because in that stop you are not allowed to board busses, only to step out ,which I find pretty stupid, they have to make the exact same manoeuvre to let people in or out, but anyway... I told him I didn't know (and I was telling the truth, I never used that particular bus stop before, so I didn't know) and he says "yeah but if I hadn't stopped you would have started cussing at me!" I thought "having a bad day aren't you??" hahahah, I told him I would never cuss at him and he went on a long story about how many people have cursed him at that same bus stop for not stopping, and how dangerous that particularly bus stop is because of the cyclists, and this and that.... I just listened politely to his rant and minutes after just thanked him once again for having picked me up anyway and allowing me to not walk alone in the dark and catch my bus at the station on time. He seemed cheerier then ;)
So yeah, I was back home safe and sound sometime around 10.30. I felt terribly full though, I guess after two weeks of not pigging in like usual, my body was going "wtf" ;) Even next morning I was still feeling a bit bloated, but after a day of eating well again everything's back to normal ;)
On to week three of my new eating pattern! My weight and measurements indicate that I might be up to something.... so we'll see! ;D Current Mood: cheerful

03:04 pm - Good start of the weekend Today I am off from work, normally that means that I would linger in bed waaay too late LOL, but today I actually woke up around 8ish and went to fitness around 9.30ish
The thing is today I have a dinner with the colleagues downtown, so I can't hit the gym in the evening. I might as well take advantage of the fact that they are open friday mornings, and go burn some fat! :)
I managed to finish week 2 of the running program, so far so good. On to week three next monday!
I'll let you know how the dinner went afterwards :) Current Mood: accomplished Current Music: TLC - No Scrubs

09:51 pm - Murder in Apeldoorn Perhaps some of you already heard on the news that a woman was stabbed in her own home here in Apeldoorn.
Jeroen was zapping when all of a sudden we heard the words "apeldoorn" and "rivierenkwartier", and it was like "WHOA, THAT'S HERE" and indeed, the murder happened so close that you can actually see our flat in the background when the news broadcaster was speaking...
*shudder* It was a very surreal feeling. I wonder if I ever even saw the someone sometime before...
My heart goes to the poor kids who saw it all happen, that's something they will never ever forget. I really hope they catch the asshole who did this :( Current Mood: shocked

11:56 pm - On to week 2! Week 2 of my running schedule (and eating pattern) has started. Today I had to run for 1.5 minutes, and walk for 2 minutes, till I added up 20-22 in total.
I can really feel the extra thirty seconds LOL (last week I just had to run a minute), but I managed to finish all right, so go me!
I also added 10 kilos to the leg press machine. I remember when I started I could barely do 15 and now I am up to 50, whooo! *does the happy dance*
It's funny cause every time Jeroen asks me if we should get ready for fitness, I moan and think of staying on the couch instead LOL, but once I am there, I actually enjoy it. It's just getting there that's hard. It's good he motivates me to go, I think I would slack way too much if I had to go on my own. :)
Lessee how the rest of the week goes!

11:51 pm - Lekkere zondag On a cheerier note....
Today the weather was fantastic. Jeroen and I spent the whole morning sunbathing on the balcony, and we got the tan to prove it ;) And then we went out for dinner at the SpiceBrush. We ate deliciously, that place is really amongst our favorites now. Though we will NOT recommend it to anyone! Last time I did that with a restaurant, they got so many customers now that you need to reserve like three weeks in advance. ;) So, DO NOT GO TO THE SPICEBRUSH! they suck! food is ewwwwwwww! ;)
I also made it through some more songs on "HARD" in Guitar Hero, I managed to beat Slash too whooo!
It was a lovely weekend, too bad it didn't last any longer along with the beautiful weather.
I hope everyone else had a good day too.

10:33 pm - The 10 last phrases in my friends list meme. While tagging some old entries from 2004, I came across this meme I found funny back then, so I thought I'd give it a go and see what we get today:
"Take the last sentences off the first 10 entries of your friends page and put them here."
This is not counting private entries, just public ones:
1) This is Loki and Jinx serving their time in the penalty box for cross-checking the dogs!
2) trust yourself, stupid :D
3) I might just have to skip some time.
4) If you don't here from me by Christmas, send helicopters! :D
5) I'm trying to spread the word on this as I'm selling it for a friend, so feel free to pass this on to other DW fan groups that don't show it.
6) Ahora, voy a admirar un poco la luz del sol, que me toca.
7) I have a whole dissertation written on Asian-style soup variations. Remind me to type them up, okay?
8) ( The 'OooOoooOooOooOooOooO' adds a lot to the story. It makes a dramatic reading fun! )
9) This kitty is about four months old. His mom is a stray in the neighborhood that I often feed. I’ve tried to catch him but he’s too quick!
10) Aaargh.
I think this time only 3 and 4, and 9 and 10 sort of link together nicely. :) Current Mood: silly

10:47 pm - First week of running program So! I managed to finish the first week of the running program successfully, so yay me! Let's see how I do next week :D
Today I ended up doing even more cardio than usual for a friday. I had to ditch some of my arm weight exercises to fit in the 20-min running program, and by the time I was done and ready to run, all three machines were taken, so I had to fool around somewhere else LOL.
I ended up cycling for ten minutes by the time the other people were done with the machine, so all in all, including my crosstrainer warm-up workout and all, I had 50 minutes of cardio today, plus my arm weight training. I feel accomplished :D *flexes biceps*
The weight exercises I ditched were a bit redundant now that I started bench pressing since a couple of months ago, so I don't think I will miss them. We'll see how that goes!
Also, I have been eating more, as it seems I was not getting enough calories, so let's see if with a more balanced diet I can get my weight in shape. :) Current Mood: accomplished

10:34 pm - A response to Holly's dare Today in hollycomics Holly posted a truth-or-dare thing, so I decided to go for dare.
Holly's reply:
I dare you to make a NicheDay comic! And post it in your lj! ;)
So. I spent about an hour making this (HOW DOES SHE MANAGE TO POST ONE DAILY ONLY GOD KNOWS)
This was inspired by one of my biggest pet peeves from the Dutch: they can't wait for their friggin turn! ;D

10:28 pm - Just great Seems someone sold my mobile number to some stupid SMS website and I have gotten two messages from the number 6010 which seems to be an erotic chat line or something. One was the "Thanks for sending us a message! To stop the abonnement send us an SMS with STOP" kind of welcome message, the second one was a weird message in dutch from someone complaining why I hadn't even told him my name. (???) When I check my sent items nothing was sent out from my own phone. Coming to think of it, my phone was turned off all day long!
I didn't want to SMS anything back thinking it was a scam but checking in google it seems tons of other people had it, and it seems the only solution is to actually send an SMS with "STOP" to that number.
I could ignore the messages, problem is I actually have to pay 1.50 euro per received message!! So while some creeps send me their wet fantasies via sms, I actually have to pay even if I decide not to read them. How stupid is that?? I never download any ringtones and I haven't posted my number anywhere so some bigwig company must have sold it or something... fuckers.
Jeroen says I should wait and see if I actually receive another message and then compare my phone saldo. (I use a pre-paid card so if they want to fuck with me all they will get from me is 10 euro LOL, but it's still not fair. There should be an option to block phone numbers in our mobiles!)
Meh, we'll see where this goes.... Current Mood: annoyed

05:21 pm - Caloriemeter Related to my last post, I found this site that allows me to count and add up what I have eaten in a day. http://www.caloriechecker.nl/productchecker/invoer.html
I am liking it so far, it seems easy and straight forward, I can actually indicate how many slices of bread I ate and it calculates based on that... Let'see how it goes! Current Mood: bored

03:59 pm - Running schedule Found online the schedule that Jeroen's been following to increase his running stamina:
http://www.cairnscommunications.com/fitness/couch-to-5k.htm
I will get started today, wish me luck ;)
I also told Jeroen I would start my diet for real this time LOL, let's see how long till I break it as usual ;P I've made a chart to write down what I eat per day but I am having problems calculating the calories, not sure how to go with a "sandwich of whole bread with two slices of kipfilet, a smear of butter, a smear of mayo and a smear of mustard". Does this still fit in the "boterham" category?
I also thought: "I have to exercise more, perhaps do my weight training two days, and cardio 3 days! And cycle to work even if it's the days I can take the car!" But knowing me I cannot see myself dragging my big ass to the gym 5 days a week LOL. And taking the car is more comfy but I still hate driving so perhaps cycling would be the best for me and my stress levels LOL...) Would be fun to try though... see if I finally start noticing a difference in my weight (as in going downwards and not upwards grr.) I really gotta make the effort. Meh.
There was a time where my goal was to fit back in my red goth dress. Now my goal is to fit back in my every-day pants comfily LOL, and we'll see how we go on from there! Current Mood: fat
