and the wind was blowing quite a bit, which probably helped with things up a bit afterward.
while we desperately needed the rain after the dry August that we've had,
we didn't need that much rain in such a short time.
not to get ahead of myself, but the basement only seemed to have "leaked" in the normal spots.
and considering the amount of rain that we got (and in such a short time), it wasn't all that bad.
but dad and i spent most of the day cleaning and organizing in the basement.
dad did most of his work in the bedroom and i worked in the family room.
while it's far from being where we want it to be, it looks a lot better down here.
especially after i moved a lot of my crap!
between last night and today, i've read a lot of posts recapping/mocking Twilight
and i received far too many LULZ from them!
while i haven't read the book or any of its sequels, i know about them.
and the slavish devotion to the series by teenage girls and young women.
(with a some older women thrown in for good measure)
while i still plan to read at least the 1st book,
i just don't know if i will be able to take it seriously after reading all the mockery!
(the mockery is just too much fun to stop now!)
speaking of reading...
i'm a total slacker on the reading front lately.
i haven't finished a book in over a month.
i really doubt that i'll be reading 50 books this year.
it's seems like the more time i have to read, the less i time spend reading.
whatever. i keep busy enough, i suppose.
speaking of which, i've been very busy on the scrapbook projects.
i did several pages for my Mexico scrapbook and the J&J books.
i've ordered more photos for the J&J books, but i don't expect them until later this week.
so in the meantime, i will focus on my Mexico book.
plus, i did a lot of ATCs for swaps this week.
i don't think i have that much for next week,
but i need to review my Swap-bot dashboard just to be sure.
now i'm hungry, cold and getting tired.

if it wasn't so humid, it would've been a really nice day.
we finally got a good amount of rain yesterday. we desperately needed it.
but it made today and most of yesterday feel so gross.
it's supposed to get hot again next week. oh joy.
had a good mail day, today and yesterday.
received some swaps which just wowed me.
and i also received some Ebay stuff that i need for my scrapbooks.
next week, i'm gonna order some more prints for the J&J scrapbooks.
so i can work with the pages and embellishments that i got recently.
Joe got me the new expansion pack for The Sims2 today: Apartment Life.
i installed it, but haven't played it yet.
i knew i would get sucked in for hours and i wanted to finish some pages first.
maybe now i'll go play with it for a while. :D
i've totally become an HGTV junkie again.
watching all this deisgn shows and even some house hunter shows.
"Divine Design" (with Candice Olson) is still my favorite show on the network.
i'm also still a big fan of "Designed to Sell" and "Curb Appeal"
totally squeed when one of the shows did a house in Takoma Park!
they showed "downtown" TP and even the purple house!
i miss my old neighborhood!
(houses in TP range: $300K - over $1M!!)
i'm never gonna be able to afford a house there. at least not by myself. :(
also, i'm a total MythBusters nerd now!
and like the teenage boy that i am, i love it when they blow shit up!
also, gonna start watching that show "Destroyed in Seconds"
