01:08 am - Two things 1.) It's really weird to watch a video obituary of someone who isn't dead yet (and who isn't about to die as far as I know.)
2.) The sky is orange, and it's raining ash here. Current Mood: weird

02:08 pm - Speaking of Nuts, a good cause if anyone is willing to pass this around...
NutsOnline, the company that helped the Jericho fans get the show renewed still has the donation page open for helping Greensburg Kansas, which was demolished when an E5 tornado slammed the town. It would be great if anyone else wanted to donate to the cause. 90-95% of Greensburg was destroyed, and these people are going to need a lot of help to get their lives back on track, so please take a moment to at least link the page on your LJ so more people can see it and hopefully help.

11:27 pm - How many nuts does it take to change a major network's mind? Apparently, the answer is 40,000 (20 tons, around 8 million peanuts.)
CBS has surrendered and agreed to bring back Jericho for 7 episodes as a mid-season replacement, with the option to continue the show if it does well. That's a heck of a lot better than the possible 2 hour wrap-up they were offering at the beginning of the outcry. It's a second chance. And since the show was doing great ratings-wise before it went on a three month hiatus and then came back against extended American Idol episodes, this just might work.
Congrats to those who worked the compaign! Looking forward to seeing where the story goes next! Current Mood: excited

12:13 pm - Holy Frell, that's a lot of Nuts! The very angry fans of Jericho have now purchased over 13,000 pounds of nuts so far to be delived to CBS in protest. Yes, that's right . . . thirteen thousand pounds . . . of nuts . . . over 6 TONS of the little bastards. Over 9,500 pounds have been delivered so far with another few thousand going out today, and still more orders are going in.
Will it make a difference in the suits' final decision? Who knows, but it's definitely making an impact. Kinda hard to ignore a statement like that. Emails are easy to delete and ignore, phone calls too. Snail mail letters are pretty small and can be tossed in the trash easily. But thousands upon thousands of nuts arriving day after day? Ouch.

06:39 am - Thank the gods for a short file tonight. I loved the file tonight, really fascinating stuff about the military. But damn, after listening to something recorded in a terribly loud vehicle on bumpy roads and not being able to turn the sound down without losing what they were saying, my ears (and head) hurt!
And ZOMGHEROESFINALE!!!!
Ahem, yeah, why isn't it Fall yet?

10:06 pm - The part where Cal discovers she is not Nathan and can't fly. Tripped over Bodie.
Fell forward.
The good: I managed to catch myself and not bash my face full force against the bookcase.
The bad: I bashed my left knee on the floor and screwed up my right shoulder by catching myself on the edge of the bed. Back muscles screaming.
Damn Bodie.

03:53 am - Snippets of goodness and a couple other things -- Mom should be getting out of the hospital this morning. We hope. She's been working with the physical therapist there and can now get out of bed and inch across the room with the walker to the bathroom to take care of business herself. So that'll be a huge help for when she gets here. Whew!
-- Yayomgwtfwoot! New Heroes last night!!! Lots of Hiro goodness, so I'm a happy girl. :D
-- So Vanguard... Dude. Very cool, if that's your type of MMO. It just so happens it is my type of MMO, so yay me! Beta ends tonight, and then we have three long days of waiting until the servers are supposed to open up for those of us who got the pre-order. Then another three days before the floodgates open for the official release. Very exciting stuff. I can't wait. Oh, yes, it will be a total mess with the huge influx of people all in the same newbie areas, but man will it be fun.
Got some friends from EQ2 who all want to make a guild together when it hits live. They're great people, so this ought to be an awesome ride all starting together.
-- I did six loads of laundry in one day. Six! Cooked dinner, vacuumed the house, did dishes, put a bunch of boxes away in the rafters, made the house generally person-with-a-walker friendly, got some study work and novel brainstorming done, and found time to get a bit of fun in. I am so tired. And yet, my blankets are still in the dryer, so I can't go to bed yet. Well, not without waking up freezing.
-- Still sorting laptop things out. Yuck. (but I want it fixed NOW!)
In conclusion, Dove chocolate and sunflower seeds are good. :D Current Mood: exhausted

04:34 pm - Broked I broke my laptop -- well the plug for the AC adapter. Crap, crap, crap.
Thank the gods I still have 140 days left on my accidental damage thingy. Now to wait for them to get back to me on how to get this fixed.

11:12 pm - hand = retarded...again Got a new mouse today because the old one has been dying, and there was a specific new one I wanted because it positions my hand and wrist in a more comfortable way. The only problem is it's a trackball and the ball is where my thumb is -- and I'm so not used to moving the cursor across my screen with my thumb. So now I feel like my hand is all retarded again while I get used to this one.
Mom Update -- Her surgery went well, and she's starting to come back nicely. She has to work with the physcial therapist there until she's capable of getting up and sitting down with a walker and moving short distances. Then she can come home. They're hoping for Sun or Mon, but we'll see.
Then she's in for at least 6 months of physical therapy, which is actually a good thing, because it should help her get stronger all over and might help with her back and stomach problems. So fingers crossed.

10:58 pm - More update Long day, brain tired, body tired.
Mom's going into surgery in the morning. The doc's gonna put a rod in her leg and sort out some of the totally shredded stuff in there from the break/dislocation.
I got to visit her for a couple hours this evening, and dad's been there on and off since the paramedics took her. Thankfully, he finally got some sleep this afternoon. And her parents and brother visited her this afternoon, which made her feel a lot better since her mom went through something very similar a year or two ago.
I kind of have no sense of time right now -- part of my brain keeps thinking it's Friday, and another thinks it's Wednesday. Ah well, that's life sometimes.
