I gave kitty girl a friend.. Now she is not so lonely.
and just for fun..and giggles and all that.
Here is the very first version of this drawing.
I made this in June of 2007, i think (that date is just when the file said it was last modified)?
She looks kind of scary doesn't she?
But I was never too happy with this drawing even then. and that just means, that I knew then that it wasnt the greatest. But my new one is just so much better! |

 I finished this painting months ago! Ill be adding her to my shop tomorow before I head off to work. Thats around noon. To me she looks like a girl named Sofi, not that I know anyone named Sofi. But that's her name. She was originally done in oil on a 5X7" wooden plaque. and I like her lots! :) |

I pre-ordered his book..last year. It is said to be ready THIS fall.
Ive received a few newsletters from Murphy Design..about the book..and they have little tiny preview NEW images by him..
the book is gonna have lots of NEW never before seen artwork by Ray.. I am very excited!!
last Christmas I received Jonathan Viner's Murphy book. it was awesome.. That makes me MORE excited.
And Ray Caesar is my very most favorite artist ever!
He was the first real artist I discovered..and whose artwork I immediately fell in love with.
He's amazing..

Finally finished.. I feel so good that it is finished now...Its been sitting unfinished for a long time.
I'm still thinking about a tittle for this, I'll let you know what I name it when I do.
I might be tempted later to continue working on it, but it is good right now. I like it.
and I like all the girls, but I think my favorite is the girl in pink, Because she has the cutest facial expression. Drawing their shoes was kinda fun too.
I dont want to reveal what it's about, it's more interesting when I let people come with their own interpretations.
Someone guessed that they were at an abortion clinic, because of the uncomfortable looks in the girl's faces (though I've slightly changed them since then), and because of the bunny, 'and we all know what bunnies do...' I thought that was super funny!! And it was a pretty close guess. Does anyone else have one?

| Weekly Resolutions 2 |

my goals for last week didn't go too well, I wont go into details... But for this week, I will finish up a commission I have, and get a good start on the second one.
Oh and, a note to self: I'm going to start organizing my thoughts and feelings..and ideas to form paintings more..and will sketch and think it through ...and will not begin the painting until I know exactly what I want convey in my painting. No more messing around doodling and 'trying to make something work'
but I will be finishing up a few paintings I already have started and things like that. And will be working on producing more and more dolls.
I just got a part time job, and its so weird..or upsetting even(maybe) ..that when I calculate the costs of getting there (gas) and possible money for food (like yummy wraps from quizno's today) and ..well basically thats it, other than taxes..
I end up making around less than fifty dollars, per paycheck (being every two weeks). but the good side of this, is that I still add some 'structure' to my routine..and I'll only work 3 days a week.. and its a very laid back job. but very boring, but I can even sketch while it's not busy, and read my HI-FRUCTOSE magazine. And I get a bit of extra money.. |

I'm not sure about how to use my mailing list, I think I told a few people that I'd send one out when I listed new dolls, but that seems like it could very quickly become annoying, I can't send one out each time I list a doll..
Maybe if I send an email out only once a week..like each Tuesday or something, to inform of things coming up, and special info.
..But what about those people expecting to receive an email so they can go snatch up a doll as soon as they are listed?
Maybe I should have TWO mailing lists? One for general art info, and another specific for new etsy items, for maybe I shouldnt have an etsy mailing list(for new items) at all, and anyone interested in buying should just keep an eye on my Journal?
Does anyone have any helpful thoughts? Please share them!

Today I felt really productive and I think it's because I felt good about getting up early (which I don't often do). I was going to share with you a few pictures of what I worked on..but instead I only have one picture to share. But I did spend the day working, I sewed and cut multiple things, here is one of them:
 This is a bigger-sized doll! I finally drew up a better pattern, and I'm quite happy with it! Once I paint the face it will look really good.
Both will be available in my shop when finished :))
oh, and today I listed my Homage to the Bunny Print.

| Painting Preview |

Hello! :) Here is one of the paintings that I'm trying to complete this week. I hope I can get it done! I might change some of the colors,,I'm never too fond of a very pastel-y color scheme in my paintings.. This is painting I started months ago! But since I'm now only going to work on finishing paintings that I've already started, I get to finish lots of paintings soon, and this was one of the ones I really like.
Painting big rabbit heads (that are suit-like) is difficult!..I have trouble getting the look that I want, and still, I'm not quite happy with it now..
This painting will be available at my shop when finished, and also at First Friday! :D
First Friday ...which has now become very restricted...Today I had to go downtown to fill out some applications and pay for licenses and space reservation. I felt a bit stressed afterwards. and now I'm afraid that in the future when I'm setting up alone, that I might not even be able to brake even...with the costs of generator and space:( but I hope that doesn't happen..I hope that more and more people start to love my art enough to take it home with them!! :D |

I really like this drawing, I drew it with my sister Yazmin, a year ago or so, she was 11. she drew the "bugs" that look like crabs, and the fence, and other squiggles. I drew the guy. Today while inking it I gave him a beard.
So I drew this today at sixAM. I usually go to bed pretty late, and lately I've gotten sleepy earlier like at 2AM ..but I've stayed up anyway, doing some work or playing video games. Bad (need to get myself sleeping before midnight)!
Last night I stayed up even though I was pretty sleepy..and then when I tried going to bed I couldn't sleep anymore! I layed in bed...the sun was coming up..so i was able to look around my room, even though it was blurry.. and yesterday I had been searching through my things for stuff to put in my pink box, for my future self, ..so I think while laying there I was still looking for things to put in there. And actually, as weird as this may sound (or not), I was also thinking of a paper to write my letter on..I dont like the very wide spaced lines of regular notebook paper..and I have lots of empty books, sketchbooks and stuff, and I saw this one, a thick hard covered canson book, and I remember it being really unfinished and empty inside, filled with a FEW old ink drawings! ..So I went to go look through it and found this pencil drawing of the guy with bug-crabs all over him that I started as a Collab with Yazmin, which I always want to do(collaborations with people)! ..and continued inking it. and I really like it.
Im still going to look for some interesting paper to write my letter on, and still need things to put in my box, Ive decided not to seal it up until it is interesting enough. I feel like it almost has a bit of power to it.. That all of it will be for my future self, in 10 years. I think it felt more 'powerful' last night though..while in weird-lack-of-sleep mode.

In my inbox i always find emails from Gala Darling. But i never make time to read them.. Today I opened one..and it was a really good one.
and i visited her site, and i remembered of why i subscribed to her list and why i had liked her site the first time i found it!
This is from Gala's email:
"Pick yourself a lovely box, write 10th April 2018 & fill it with things from the here & now. Photobooth pictures, 3D glasses from that movie you went to last week, a memory stick with your favourite songs or photos on it, a love letter or two, one of your favourite chocolate bars... anything you want. But the most important thing is that you write yourself a letter. You can say anything you want, but know that you're writing it to yourself ten years in the future. Who will you be then? What will your life be like? Maybe you can describe that, or maybe you'd prefer to write about what your life is like right now. Make it juicy. Then seal it up & stash it in the back of your closet. No touching until 10th April 2018! Okay?"
ok, so today is the 11th..not a nice and even number like the 10th, but ill go out and buy me a nice pink shoe storage box from Michael's and and fill it with special things..and write to future Carol about me now, and about what i expect(ed) for me in 10 years. This sounds really fun:D

I like and try to set goals, though i forget sometimes, so i might use this image or a similar one.. at the beginning of each week along with the goals, or resolutions i set for that week. Im posting this now, even though it is today Friday..and not quite the beginning of the next weekyet. But..
