I've been a comic book fan for years, I originally got hooked on them cause I had a major case of hero worship with my cousin Perry... I was such a dork. Never mind...I'm still a dork! Lately though I've been getting a bit ticked at Marvel and DC because they keep screwing around with my favorite teams.

First it was Generation X when they brought in all those baseline students and killed of Synch. The whole thing with Monet I could deal with, it was kind of interesting, but I really didn't like Emma's sister... Ugh.

After that they screwed around with Young Justice and the Teen Titans and did this whole “Graduation Day” thing. I'll admit that I never really liked Cissie and Empress got on my nerves but I adored Impulse...a character who loves pushing buttons as much as I do...you just can't get better then that! And while I like having Kid Flash, Superboy, Wonder Girl, and Robin all part of the new Teen Titans I was upset to see YJ end. Not as upset as I was when they killed of Spoiler though...I loved Steph's relationship with Tim!

I'm not even going to get into the whole “House of M” stuff... Oii... It was the first time I ever wanted to strangle a comic character. I was a little flabbergasted that Marvel would blow up an entire bus full of children, even if they had been mutants originally. Then to have Jay's wings cut off on top of all that and make Sam feel so sad...I just wanted to hug both of them!

Gah...enough rambling, I'm not making sense to anyone but myself am I? Besides I'm not even sure anyone else who reads my journal even reads comics. I was just planning on writing a little bit about the new YA issue and I just wind up rambling...

I LOVE Young Avengers! I've only got a few problems with the entire thing. The first is that Marvel has plans to make it bi-monthly, it's already difficult enough to wait for the next month's issue...now after the entire Civil War thing I'm going to have wait two months before the next issue? Grr...argh... Also! It took way to long to get #11 in stores. The guy who runs the store I go to said it was several weeks behind.

Anyway...now that I have it in my hot little hands here is my poor excuse at review. Naturally its behind a cut because its the brand new issue.

I'm constantly naming my pets after anime/manga characters, even comic and TV characters. So... I was thinking when I get a guinea pig again I'd like to name it Wiccan after one of my favorite Young Avengers characters... But is that a bad idea since some of my friends are Wiccan and I don't want them to take offense.... That's me...overly cautious and somewhat paranoid.

Also! Does anyone know what order the stripes are in for the PoA and GoF sweaters for Hufflepuff? Is it yellow black yellow or is it black yellow black? For some reason this is really bugging me and all my reference photos have vanished.. *poof*

Yippie! It's April! That means only a few more weeks till ACEN, I can hardly wait!

I'm hoping that the pain really goes down so I can thourghly enjoy the weekend. Though with the way things have been going lately I just want the pain to be low enough for me to get through the day comfortably.

Anywho... Got the April issue of NewtypeUSA in the mail today. I'm not sure what's going on with the company. I've sent them the entire subscription amount back in October and have only recieved two issues to date, this months and December's. I've contact the company and they claim that the card I put it on was maxed out...which is impossible because the card that I used for the order is my debit/credit card which draws money directly from my bank account. To top it all off a few weeks ago they sent me a bill for $189 and a handful of change. Oii...

In other news, though the progress is slow I am seeing progress as far as learning Japanese is going. I can now ask my Dad where is the cat and then point the cat out and say there it is. I can also count to 10 and a few other numbers, and can answer questions in a crossword without looking in the book (I photocopied the crossword for more practice). All in all I say that's a pretty darn good thing. I was quite pleased with myself when I went the Mitsuwa the other day and recognized some of the words that were spoken and not because I'd learned them off an anime. What I'd really like though is a personal tutor. When I get a class situation I just clam up and don't say anything because I get to scared.

Gotta run...think I'll take a warm bath to relax the muscles before bed.

I went to the bookstore on Sunday evening after dinner with Daphne and Dawn, not really sure what I was looking for so I looked in a few sections. When I was in the manga section I picked up the newest volume of Tokyo Girls & Boys, I love that manga sooo much....I think I like it more than Hot Gimmick! I also found a manga that is really a book to teach you how to write kanji and I grabbed it to thinking that I'd get it. Then I tried to find some books on RSD but they didn't have any, which surprised me because they have books on other virtually unknown health issues... Dorks. They did have the newest Meg Cabot book though, “Avalon High”, so I was very happy to snag a copy. I love Meg Cabot!

The little manga book gave me an idea though. I made some extra money working for Dad's girlfriend over the weekend, So why not spend a little getting something to help me learn how to speak Japanese? I never did wind up with the little manga but I got a book that is titled “Japanese in 10 minutes a day”. It's set up in little lessons with stickers, flash cards, quizes, and word puzzles like crosswords to help you study. Right now I'm working on things around the house like the telephone, curtian, and chair as well as reviewing the key question words. There are also three words, kono, sono, and ano, which I'm trying to memorize which goes with which meaning.

Keep your fingers crossed y'all. So far I've been able to go to work and point out to the kids that the chair their sitting in is 'isu' (according to the book) and I learned that word last night. I guess it helps to repeat it every time you see the sticker.

Ah well, that was my interesting Sunday night. I better get to bed, gotta work at 8am tomorrow!

I absolutely adore Magiranger but every time I see the ending I can't help but laugh. Just a quick post before I head to bed. My Aunt Jean and Uncle Jeff are visiting so I need to get plenty of sleep so I can be alert tomorrow. Jean...is a handful. You'd think that after dealing with all the difficult kids at work I could handle an Aunt. But when their your own family and act like a school age bully. :: sighs ::

Anyway... I just got off the phone with my Dad to say goodnight and he told me that Colin (my brother for those that don't know, his girlfriend Meg, and Meg's roommate Lisa were over at Dad's having pizza with the relatives. Meg wore the scarf I recently made for her and he thinks its beautiful. Now naturally a Dad has to say this...its like in their contract or something. :P But according to Dad, Meg has been wearing the scarf quite a bit and several people want me to make scarves for them.

The ego boost couldn't have come at a better time... Especially since I'm going to have to be dealing with my Aunt this weekend and I'm feeling frustrated with coworkers, the lack of heat in my apartment's bathroom, the strange smell in the bathroom, and my own knitting skills.

Ah...here's to the weekend. Is it Monday yet?

It’s been ages since I’ve written a real entry. Anyone miss me? I was out of it for awhile due to a rather severe flare up of my RSD, it was the worst one I’ve had since I was first diagnosed almost eleven years ago and I was tempted to ask Dad to take me to the hospital since I couldn’t stand or walk or really even move by myself. But what are they going to do except pump me full of pain meds? I try to only take pain medication for my migraines and do physical therapy and other non-med routes for my RSD. I feel I put enough toxicants into my body…I don’t need to add to it.

Anywho…enough rambling… This entry is mostly for autumnal_hedge since I really want to see what she thinks (aside from the fact that I’m nutters since we all know that already) but mostly cause it took place at her house… Well kind of.

Okay...so I was looking on ebay to see if they had anything that would help me for my search for a costume for Acen... I've discovered a large collection of Naruto things but nothing from Pretear or Fruits Basket, the two series I'm hoping to have a costume from... I also found a large selection of Wallace and Gromit figures that look like they came from a twenty-five cent machine while looking under anime cosplay. Someone tell me what they have to do with either of the terms?
