16th/17th, then ocean for two days 4-6 weeks after that.
Your open water dives are in the ocean?! j/k What I was trying to ask is if you're doing your open water dives in No Cal or going someplace warm for them.

Then off we go to mexico in January!
Damn.
Must get my cert card replaced.
Must finish getting arm and foot fixed so I can shed some pounds and go diving again.
Take jwz with you!!
Scuba is the rulingest. I keep trying to get him certified but it never seems to work out. I don't think he's willing to suffer Monterey, though (and I don't blame him).
You'll love it. It's amazing! I assume you're doing it through Bamboo Reef, which is <1 block from you?
You didn't mention if Dina is certified or will be, but I have a dry suit I'm thinking of selling that would probably fit her, if she's interested.

Jamie's invited if you can convince him. He'd be in a wet suit, so it's not that cold.
Bamboo Reef: yes. I really like them, too. Very friendly.
Dina can't deviate from sea-level (positive or negative) without her head blowing up, so she's out of this adventure. (she said she'd suntan on the beach)
now would be a good time to add "user valiskeogh can have a perm account" in your will should you like... drown or something
good lord, for your own sake, get PADI certified. I got BSAC certified 9 years ago, and lost my card... well the people at BSAC don't keep things like this on file, so apparently if you lose your card, you lose your certification. This, in turn, caused me to miss out on a dive trip to cozumel this past week when my family and I were spending a week in mexico. All the family members who were PADI certified were able to just look their certifications up in the dive shops computer.. but me? I was not allowed to go because they didn't believe that I was certified. UGHH!!!!
Here's a great dive site. It's my friend's scuba diving site (Manuel from Florida.)
He's really good at diving (not to mention computer programming.) This site is definitely inspirational, because after a long week of computer programming, diving is about all this guy does.
You can see a lot of his scuba diving photos here (including some video.)
