| In Which Opheliac EP's Are Given Away In My Unmentionables |
[Jul. 22nd, 2008|08:43 am] |
Greetings, Plague Rats!
Firstly!
I am pleased to announced that all "4 o'Clock Rings" were shipped out priority mail last week, so enjoy them and send pix or suffer the conSEquences!
Now, let's chat. It's the little things that do it for me, you know? Like this morning for instance. I hadn't slept for three days, so, naturally, I went out at 7 am and bought almonds and a knife sharpener I didn't know I needed. I strolled back to the Asylum through the reinvigorating rain and gave some almonds to the plague rats. I made myself wait to open the knife sharpener because I was too excited to know if it would work or not to actually open it. Finally, I knew the time was right. I peeled the sharpener out of it's plastic packaging and tested it out on my irresistibly pink-handled butcher knife (though a carrot was the worst it had ever butchered). Five strokes against the device and my once blunting blade is as good as new. And, all of a sudden, it is a very good day.
I am passing that goodness on to you. While I would love to personally buy each and every one of you muffins a knife sharpener, what I have to offer is much more practical, mainly because I suspect Walgreens would run out of stock at some point and then what would we do? It just wouldn't be fair. No, rather, whilst doing a bit of organization of the Asylum closets, I chanced to discover 120 of those otherwise sold out and now infamous limited edition "Opheliac EP"s, yay, those that were the Traitor Records demo to the "Opheliac" album before the complete record ever came out on Trisol. Why infamous, you say? Because it was this very EP that was being sold when my offices were robbed bare a few years ago (was it that long?), thereby delaying the actual and complete album, and blocking the shipping of said EP.

Is that a Cannibal Corpse g-string I am wearing? You're god damned right it is.
Anyway.
"OPHELIAC EP"s!
I am giving these up to you (not the g-string, the CDs), these silver discs containing slightly different versions of the songs you know and hate to love, different packaging, and of course never to be re-pressed. 60 will be sold Autographed, while the other 60 will be sold still in their Shrink-wrapping. Why on earth would you want one of these? I am not at all sure. After giving it a good listen, I personally would use it for a teacup doily, or perhaps a means to spread my marmalade. I might briefly consider wearing it as a hat, but would then decide against it. I would congratulate myself for exercising such sound judgement later on in the day.
Here is the Tracklisting:
1. Opheliac 2. Swallow 3. Liar 4. The Art of Suicide 5. I Want My Innocence Back 6. Misery Loves Company 7. Bonus Track: Marry Me
Full Lyrics included in the liner notes. Naturally.
Well then, I bet you'll never guess what I'm doing tonight, but it involves a (very) high B flat and a lot of pressure.

| In Which A Rat Ate A Dress |
[Jun. 26th, 2008|09:14 pm] |
Greetings, Plague Rats!
Todays Wayward Victorian Costuming Tip:
After much persistence on their part, I have finally given Sir Edward and Basil the job of "decorating" the new costumes for the Asylum "Gate" tour. They have chewed tiny holes in the pink satin, making up the most intricate lacework imaginable. Next they'll ask to be paid...
Announcement:
I had a great deal of champagne last night. A great deal.
Meanwhile, in another movie:
I just learned that my "4 O'Clock" EP is up on iTunes, along with all the rest of me. Almost.

Isn't that nice?
Meanwhile:
Did you see me on stage at the House of Blues in Chicago last week (or was it two)? You should have. I made a surprise fiddling appearance with my old pals Dethklok, from Metalocalypse. 'Twas great to play with the boys again, yet bizarre being the only girl in a band that is the polar opposite of my own girltastic circus. There weren't even any ladies in the crowd, except for one, which I kissed. What I hadn't realized until that night was that I've actually been present at every show on their mega tour because they've kept my 50 violin tracks in the live playback for the song "Dethharmonic," which I recorded on their album, so, if you've been to one of their shows and you've wondered why that song sounds so massive and delicious and maybe you've even fainted afterwards or thrown up a little because it was just too beautiful, well, now you know. More importantly though, I had my hair completely down, which was incredibly liberating. I may consider it further. And I apologize to the teenage boys in the front row whose fingers I tried to bite off, but honestly, that is what is going to happen if you stick them in my mouth. Do I get carried away up there? Maybe. Do forgive me.
And finally:
They're almost yours! I was wearing one of these at the above mentioned show...

[Jan. 6th, 2008|05:45 pm] |
...that Sir Edward hasn't posted here before...he's not so tech savvy, but I just gave him a croissant and he promised to log on this evening after my computer (Miss Victoria Covington) comes back from the Apple store where she was on suicide watch for 72 hours. Look for a note from him tonight, and perhaps another special guest as well!
And maybe I'm five years old, but there's nothing quite like the excited of the day your auctions end...I adore seeing where all of you are coming from...

I had almost forgotten why I hate eBay. Oh yes, I remember now...
All of the Asylum's listing were deleted today because there was an incredibly inappropriate word in the description. A word I find extremely inappropriate in this particular context. FUCK. Yes, I said it. FUCK. That was the word. When are we going to get over it, eBay? FUCK is practically not even a swear word at this point, so integrated into our culture at all levels and ages has it become. FUCK.
Just watch - now my whole MySpace account will be deleted...oh well, if it happens, goodbye, farewell, and I always loved you...
My FUCKING apologies to those who have so kindly bid on these Asylum goods, and should you wish to start the whole FUCKING process over, here you go. Have FUCKING fun.

With the cancellation of the Belgian festival which we were SUPPOSED to be playing tonight, the Asylum is left with cupboards full of toys it's inmates had been preparing for this event. I had 5 minutes free today (a small miracle), and so I thought I should give you some bits and pieces anyway so that we can clear the closets to prepare for the NEW sextastic merch to be presented at the December ASYLUM TOUR Part I.
And thus, without further A-D-O, may I present the first installment of tour merch you were supposed to get tonight:
