5:35 pm - Vaguely Important Announcement of Impending Changes~!
|
Heilsa, Goodfolk & Tru
I'm making two changes, effective immediately, to this journal.
The first is that I'm taking it "friends only," and that friends list has been severely trimmed. If you got cut and don't want to be, reply here and tell me why not. If you've been reading my posts via the friends page of one of the communities of which I'm a member, my posts will no longer be appearing there, and you'll need to ask for friends status by replying here as well. If I don't know you, you'll also need to introduce yourself. :-)
The second is that I'm moving away from the quizzes and surveys, and back to the essays, ponderings, verbiage, pontificating, and rants with which this journal began . . . the sort of writing I used to do here, and haven't been, for quite some time. I'm looking forward to doing some wordsmithing again, and hope some of you will not only come along for the ride, but offer input and critique, as well.

Heilsa, Goodfolk and Tru~
Hail Frey, friend of Folk Holy Plow that opens the belly of the world Mighty Elder Kinsman, friend and fulltrui As the ice recalls the ocean So my bones remember Thee.
With antler and horn, I bless and hallow this Freehold and Stead.
If this journal accomplishes anything, other than to sink into the vast sea of bookmarks that is my iMac, it will serve as a record of my thoughts about heathen community, law, and thew.
For if we persist without law, we declare ourselves outlaw by choice. It is time to build the wall of Asgardh anew, and with the shields of our better natures oppose mixture, compromise, and dilution. We are Folk by nature, of the heath and hearth, bound to our gods, bound to each other, bound to the moist and fecund soil of Vinland. Our feet step unclad onto ancient stone paths reddened by the blood of our mighty ancestors . . . which lead forward into the mists of time, the birthright of our descendants. We owe it to both to do this right.
