A class project- cut down a movie into five minutes or less, make something else out of it without adding anything.

This is a recut of the space battle of Star Wars Episode IV : A New Hope, where all the context of the voices, the actors, and most of the identifying information has been removed, leaving a mass of special effects.

Intended to be played in an installation with the following setup:



A= Projector and dvd player
B= video camera mounted on small television facing the viewer, so anyone sitting in the way of the projector can watch themselves and the projected image.

I intend to make a nintendo ds, a cellphone, a digital camera, blackberry and laptop. I intend to make them all with cables that will ensnarl and tangle in a big pile on the floor.

So close to the end of the semester. All I need is sleep. I doubt I'll get a whole lot of it until this weekend. My skin has hived up in two hundred places and I both look and feel like a mess. I'm exhausted.

Materials:

One (1) 9 1/2 inch diameter metal drum, probably used for gardening
Twelve (12) mirror strips, 1 1/4 x 8 inch

Metal Rod, diameter unimportant. Scrap wood for base, diameter unimportant. Washers to fit metal rod. Wood glue, hot glue, scrap wood to brace center piece.

Someone is pissed and he or she or it has pulled the fire alarm TWICE tonight, once at 3 and again at 4:30. I'm exhausted.
