Last Days

Livejournal is a place, for me, that gets me all introspective for some reason - (at least some of the time)

While over on chubspot getting my visual fix on, I was drawn back to Livejournal, thanks to a post by [info]enigmacub on the passing of another livejournaler...

anyway, the whole thing made me realize, yet again, how tenuous our lives are - love each day that you have as though it is your last...

I have come to accept the reality that the whole world has yet to embrace email as the easiest (maybe even greenest) way to communicate. But it really bothers me when public agencies, whose existence is due to our tax dollars, do not have easy access via email.

I need to contact Prince George's County and while they list the telephone numbers for their departments, no one lists emails - why not? Dare we fear that access may be too easy? *sigh*

Anyway, listen to this very talented pianist play an appropriate song:

Michelle&Marvin

Michelle&Marvin

Taken last Fall, this is our cousin, Michelle (though her friends called her Angela or Angie) with Marvin, her horse.

She had just gotten Marvin and was learning to ride. Michelle always loved animals. She always seemed to relish taking in those who needed a bit extra love and attention.

Born the day before Christmas, she was taken off life support the day before Easter when she took her last breath and began her journey. Please keep her in your prayers as her spirit returns home.

Rumination - Don't

According to an article in Psyhology Today, rumination is a style of thinking in which, like a hamster in a cage, you run in tight circles on a treadmill in your brain. It means obsessing about problems, about a loss, about any kind of a setback or ambiguity without moving past thought into the realm of action.

So, let's stop ruminating out there.

thanks to  [info]bitterlawngnome for a bit of inspiration - he noted how as we age, our sense of accomplishments changes and it so does.

today, i am very happy to have restored my relationship with my partner - done with integrity all around.

having my mother live with us and being able to participate with her in this part of her journey is indeed a blessing.

opening up my heart and mind to those who wronged me is not as hard as i thought it would be.

keeping my heart and mind open to those who have yet to reveal themselves is also engaging.

knowing i can lead horses to water but not make them drink, is freeing.

i was very young and way too confident in my youth-ness and in NYC and told a homeless man who was asking for spare change to "get a fucking job"

hate it when i get some rage goin on inside of me...

it takes forever to subside, meaning i will have a restless night....

not wanting to re-hash it all, let's just say that it deals with my deep disappointment with a young family member who has squandered opportunities that many don't get....

there should be some tutorial some place on how to post LJ and do those cut things that link you to another web page - the LJ "inster/edit link" thing  never quite works for me...

anyway... was gonna post about how i think my mind is giving me the flu - what with all this talk about the resurgent flu virus... causing problems even for those (like me) who endured the prick of a flu shot...

lemme see...  who got me wanting to do more journaling... why,
