8:37 am - March 1st is International Women of Colour Day 2008!
|
We started, we stopped, and now it's back to Black Girls Blog. In London (UK) Sokari is organising Women of Colour Day turnout for the Black Women's Film Festival. More on that shortly. It's good being back. Peace.

BGB was borne out of a series of discussions between Marian and myself around the relationship between Africa and it's Diaspora. We felt that there was a continuing misunderstanding and lack of dialogue between the two on various levels and that this was detrimental to both Africans and the Diaspora. What we hope to begin here is a dialogue that will address issues such as social justice, gender violence, neo-colonialism, Pan-Africanism and technology with the view to educating ourselves and readers on the historical reality and similarity of all our lives and to seek news ways to build a partnership that benefits both Africa and the Black Atlantic.
