On behalf of Megan (who doesn't have an LJ account), would anyone else like to join in on a combined knit picks order?
This would also be a good time to get some books (they're 40% off again) and some flexible 40" cable needles to do magic loop (for all those Tuesday knitters talking about magic loop the other day).Let me know before Oct 10th (the day we make the order).
EDIT Oct 4th: The new deadline is by the end of the day on Oct 14th. I'll place the order the next day.
Thanks!
Hi all,
Do any of you work with raw wool? Like, fresh from the sheeps?
My landlady has a few bags from her sheep and she would be happy to get rid of it (free) if someone can put it to use.
Here are some of her lambs. I'm not sure what type they are.
If you're interested, let me know and I will arrange to pick some up.

hey all,
just to let you know that i am having a six-month anniversary sale at my Etsy shop for the next ten days (the 18th to the 28th). if you would like to buy something, just send me a message through the Etsy site and i can reserve the yarn/fibre for you and also change the shipping so you don't have to pay it.

Hey Everyone!
Thanks to all of you who came out on Friday night and to those who couldn't make it but still signed the cards, I love them. I waited until today to post because I wanted to go spend my gift certificate first and show you the spoils :D (I am not very good at posting pics here.. usually Mairi has to come in and fix them for me so we'll see what happens) Naturally I went straight for the Hand Maiden (I did look around the store but nothing jumped out at me) and after some serious debate I got two skeins of Mini Maiden! Its a 50/50 wool silk blend in a fingering (I think) weight
Yay it worked! I have 1000 meters and in the running for projects are http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter07/PATTjean
If anyone has suggestions I will gladly take them.
and here is a pic of my passport chillin in the holder Sylvana very kindly made me :)
Once again thanks everyone and I will try and keep in touch and update my lj on a regular basis.
Take Care

That addy is in effect the entire time I am there and they will forward stuff on to me... I might be convinced to send vegemite or possum yarn in exchange for maple stuff or handmaiden :P
and if you want a postcard or two from me, email me your addy at bartley_megan (at) hotmail (dot) com
I just found out about BCs Creative Expo and wondered if anyone else was interested? Looks interesting - although not much fibery stuff.
Cheers! Marjorie

is tomorrow, SUNDAY, the 31st. sadly, we had a family show up today (saturday) - though i was downstairs and didn't hear them, and my sleepy husband was too out of it to do much more than say, "yeah, it's tomorrow".
so i'm not sure who showed up, but i'm sorry that you came with food in tow and no bbq to attend today. i hope you can still come tomorrow...
cheers
Ursa
1. I just wanted to remind you all about the BBQ & knit-out at Ursa's, happening this coming Sunday (Aug 31st)!
It is an invite the whole family event, so partners, and kids are all welcome!
For more info, check out the post I made a few posts back.
2. I am showing off my artsy stuff at The Roost cafe in sidney this weekend. I'll be there on Saturday (9am-5pm), and Sunday (9am-2pmish) (Aug 30& 31). So if you're around, please stop by to say hi!
3. I won't be at knitting this Friday, since I'll be prepping for #2.
Thank you, that is all. :-)

Hey Friday knitters,
since our friend Megan is heading off to NewZealand pretty soon, let's have a little going away get together for her!
When: Friday, September 5th, 6pm-8pm
Where: The Reef (click the name to go to the website)
Who Is Invited: All knitterly friends of Megan are invited to this gathering. Sorry if this excludes some of the Tuesday knitters, but since this is a going away thing for Megan I want it to be all people who actually know her.
What Do I Bring: Yourself, money for booze &/or food, and your knitting natch.
RSVP?: Absolutely required! Do so in the comments here, so we can make a reservation.
& here's a memorable pic of Megan with her infamous Lizard Ridge blanket, lest you be confused as to which Megan we're talking about.
Now that I have all my
bitchybees bi-monthly beer knit night!
sheepducks in a row (again, my apologies for jumping the gun earlier this week), it's time to make way for another night of beer knitting! With the weather turning on us, it seems like eons ago that we had our last beer knit night! So it's time to warm up with a woolly sweater, grab our toques and head on out for a cold one at the
Mark it on your calendar for Monday, October 27th!
Autumn Beer Knit Night!
When: Monday, October 27th from 5:30pm to about 8:30pm/9pm
Where: Canoe Brewpub (Find a map by clicking here.)
To RVSP, please kindly leave a comment on this post. [If you do not have an LJ account (have not joined our LJ community), please leave your name (or Ravelry ID) at the bottom of your RSVP so we know who you are.]
An RSVP will secure you a seat, so that the pub does not get bowled over by a large group, thus ensuring good service for our group.
Please note, with all large groups at the Canoe Brewpub, they will automatically charge a 17% gratuity on the food bill, before taxes, provided that service was up to your standards.
As always, please remember to get a safe ride home if you plan on having a bevvy. And even though we do name this event "beer knit night", one does not need to drink, the dinner menu will also be available for those who want one.
Thank you and see you there!
