I love that I live in a city where a woman goes into labor and hopping the F train to the hospital seems like a perfectly plausible idea. I think if you're born inside the turnstiles, then you're technically a citizen of the subway and should never have to pay to ride. |

I thought it was a classy and gracious maneuver for The Obama campaign to put a nice big "thank you" to Hillary Clinton on the front page of the site. I think a lot of the pundits and media outlets have made too big a deal about certain demographics not voting for Obama because of the contests clinton won. I think they're wrong about blue collar white voters, who may have voted for clinton by a heavy margin in a lot of states, but still voted Democratic, and not only that, voted for a woman. If these people were as closed minded and intolerant as some would have you believe, they would have looked at the choice between a Black man and a Woman, and simply jumped ship and voted for Ron Paul, or Lyndon Larouche. I think if you offer a person a choice between a hamburger and pizza, and they choose hamburger, it doesn't mean they can't tell the difference between pizza and a bowl of stewed prunes. I get a text message from my sister earlier... "Mom is wondering why you haven't called, she thinks you forgot mothers day" Seing as how I left two messages at the house, i figure I'll call her cell, and give her some shit for trying to call me out. Call her up, and I'm joking with her about having to track her down on Mothers day..."Where are you, Bingo?" "No...Me and your dad flew down to West Virginia to Volunteer on the Obama campaign" It's rough when your 63 and 70 year old parents make you feel like a total slacker. |

Anyone wondering why I've been completely M.I.A., awol, cranky and tired for the past 2 months...here's why The new site is finally live. a little buggy in places, but hey, that's what happens when your web team is exactly one person. Just for background Missbehave is the urban girl mag put out by my good friends Samantha and Adrian along with Mass Appeal magazine. Pick up a copy wherever magazines are sold. This project was a bit of a nightmare, but I think once we smooth out the rough edges, the site is gonna be hot, and I'm really happy to help some friends in their business venture. Adrian and our friend Pat who passed away a couple of years ago started Mass Appeal 10 years ago stealing color copies from kinko's. Mass Appeal has always been known as the mag that will give anybody a shot. We joke that it's the only publication where you can go from intern to editor in less than a year. There's always some wide-eyed kid fresh off the plane showing up at their office, and they always take them in and give em something to do. There's a lot of people making names for themselves at bigger mags these days who got their start at Mass Appeal. which is cool. So support these guys, cause they're good people. And Misbehave is looking for new bloggers, so if anyone is feeling sassy, and looking for an audience, drop them a line... |
