| Happy birthday ragingamazon! I wish the Right Coast and the Wrong Coast (except it’s where you are, so it can’t be too wrong) could get together and throw you one awesome party. | |

| Too tired to do more than bullet points, but here they are: Great rehearsal last night. I'm excited about the show. Then went sushi with plumtreeblossom, surrealestate (who is in the one-act plumtreeblossom is directing; I’m just a rehearsal assistant), and a friend of surrealestate’s visiting from California. Lovely time with my sweetie. I love our balcony conversations. Got to work insanely early for me. I was there before 9. Did you know that the sun is actually up already by 9? Who knew? Slightly abbreviated gym trip after work. Then met cathijosephine for a late dinner at the place in Quincy that has our favourite pastrami sandwiches. Unfortunately she was feeling very ill and couldn't actually eat any pastrami. But she did have some French fries and some Vitaminwater, and that made her feel a lot better. Then stopped by her place briefly for a beer. Had a good time catching up with her. Got home. Found a mysterious package on the porch. Puzzled. Opened it. It has mugs with a picture of Hamlet, the Best Dog in the World, on them — a gift from sionnagh. Wow, that really made me happy! Also got email from allterrainbrain; delightful to hear from her. Tomorrow I have a davis_square gathering to go to after work, and I get to see my lovely plumtreeblossom at that. Right now, though, I am can’t-keep-eyes-open tired. ’Wabbit sleep now. | |

| Late Wednesday night (if I’m understanding the chronology correctly) plumtreeblossom hurt her foot really badly. Poor sweetie! Thursday night I got together with xmelancholia and cathijosephine for pizza at cathijosephine’s place and had a lovely time. Lots of catching up, and lots of stories to tell. After that, I got my car and drove to pick up my cane (which I got last summer when I had sciatica and had lent to somebody) and took it over to plumtreeblossom’s, and stayed over so I could drive her to work the next morning and she wouldn’t have to hobble to the T. Had another lovely night with plumtreeblossom on Friday night; I picked her up at work to save wear and tear on her poor toes, we had yummy dinner at Sound Bites, and we went to a party (where, delightful surprise, we bumped into surrealestate). Today plumtreeblossom and I went back to Nantasket Beach and had a wonderful time. This time we ended up at the more populous end of the beach, by the bathhouse and across the street from a little commercial strip. I got in a 20-30min nap, which was lovely. I waded into the water a bit, but it was a bit too cold for me. plumtreeblossom was braver than I was and swam a couple times (getting completely submerged). Yay for my salty sweetie. After the beach we stopped in at a little art gallery by the beach and browsed for a while. And we had Dairy Queen for dinner on the way back. :-) EDIT: The beach trip set plumtreeblossom’s toes back a bit in their healing, but she’s still making enormous progress; today she was walking almost normally and not using the cane much, while on Thursday she hadn’t been able to take a step without pain. I’m very encouraged. It’s been a lovely weekend so far, and tomorrow I have dinner scheduled with chienne_folle, so the loveliness is not over. | |

| So my hair is down to my shoulders — finally out of that clumsy sticking-out-in-all-directions stage. It was a long time getting here, but I’m finally here. So, of course, I’m considering chopping it all off again. This is partly because of the summer heat, and partly because it would just be easier and quicker to manage, and partly because I’m missing the way it felt. Of course, I started growing it out again because I missed the way it looked long. And as plumtreeblossom pointed out, I’ve got a few strands of grey coming in, and that will look even more awesome with long hair than with short. So I’m not sure. And of course, the thing to do when you have a decision to make is to post a poll, so you can ignore the advice of all your friends. Therefore: Poll #1219547 Wabbit Hare
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: AllWhat should beowabbit do with his hair? Feel free to argue for your position in the comments.

| On Sunday, plumtreeblossom and I drove up to New Hampshire to visit faerieschylde, whom I hadn’t seen in at least a year, probably more. We had a great time! It was wonderful to see faerieschylde and catch up with her. And it was good to see her cats, one of whom is doing very poorly. As is her custom, she fed us a wonderful spread, and for dessert we went to a local ice-cream place and I demonstrated my complete lack of willpower. The drive up and back was also lovely. We talked and listened to NPR, and just drove in silence for quite a bit. The weather was gorgeous. So that’s this past weekend. I still have a bunch of catching up to do about the last couple of weeks (one of which I took off to sleep and work on the house), but that will be for a later post. | |

| As I mentioned, I had a great time at the fireworks on Friday. It was particularly neat getting to hang out and chat and tech-geek with m_c_t. (I did end up finding my camera battery charger, by the way; it was hiding in the middle of a table with nothing around or on top of it. No wonder I couldn’t find it!) On Saturday (after doing some cleaning and composing a long message to my doctor I’ve been meaning to send for a while), I picked up plumtreeblossom for a yummy dinner at Firefly’s in Quincy. She had chicken ’Bama; I had St. Louis ribs and beef brisket. We both gorged on beets and their yummy pickled-cucumber salad. We ended up having leftovers for a couple more meals. Afterwards we went to my house and watched Smilla’s Sense of Snow, which we both enjoyed. I’m going to go ahead and post this and write about Sunday later, because my bus is arriving at work. | |

| That was awesome. There may be some photos posted, but I ran out of charge on my camera just as the fireworks were starting. (I meant to charge the battery this morning, but I couldn’t find the charger. Sure hope I find it.) The train ride back was insanely hot, though; our car had no air conditioning, and was packed with drunken people singing. We thought about switching cars, but it was too crowded. Sleepy beowabbit is sleepy. | |

| This afternoon I went to see meet plutreeblossom and a bunch of people organized by smacaski to see WALL-E. Had a wonderful time, and afterwards plumtreeblossom and I got hot dogs and sausage and lemonade from a street vendor on the Common and had a little impromptu picnic, feeding the birds with crumbs from our hot-dog buns. It was a lovely little interlude. Then I found cathijosephine and m_c_t at Faneuil Hall, whence we wandered through the North End to the waterfront, and then back through B.U. and to the Esplanade, on the bank of the Charles, where we are now planted waiting for the Boston Pops and the fireworks to start. plumtreeblossom cathijosephine is reading early late (I’m told) Heinlein aloud to m_c_t, and I'm posting to LiveJournal, because I can. Wishing you all joy and pretty explosions! | |

| Oops. You know that giant thunderstorm we just had?
My car windows and sunroof were wide open for it.
My drive to Methuen this evening is going to be, um, damp.
