| The perfect zombie killer...? 5 Arguments for the Direct Microwave Ray |
[25 Jul 2008|10:12pm] |
If you could direct an amplified Microwave ray, so that it shot a blast with a five foot diameter, would this not be the perfect weapon for destroying zombies? 1) It's a cremator, meaning there's nothing left to reanimate. 2) It's heat based, meaning your dry variety of zombies don't stand much of a chance. 3) It's a directional weapon with an indefinite fire-time (Pending your power source) meaning you could hold it in a forewords direction and let it blow out anything that comes your way. 4) It's electrically powered, so you can recharge it/grab a car battery (I mean, if half the people are zombies, they won't need cars, right?) 5) It can be made with purchasable (or, depending how far into Z-Day, thievable) materials, as long as you have a basic knowledge of sodering.

so-so. :o/ I gotta be honest, I was disappointed with the story and I left the theatre feeling unfulfilled and a little mopey. I do have to say though that the makeup, costumes, and computer graphics kicked some ass.
..Kind of funny..and totally unexpected, but I think I may have a crush on Abe Sapien. Yes. Abe. He was irresistably sweet, intelligent, knows his poetry, and he was caring, protective, and sensitive. I don't want to give too much away and spoil it for anyone but I so LOVED how he acted around...a certain female character, and I almost died when he got tipsy with Hellboy and they started singing. (Okay. I won't say anymore!) :oX
Oh yeah. He also had a banging good body. LOL! He was all tall and lean and muscular. Yes, I admit it. I was totally checking him out in his little tight black get-up thing (wetsuit?). ...Is that creepy of me?
And now, pictures with Abe in them:

Have a great weekend everyone!

| Update |
[25 Jul 2008|05:13pm] |
It's been a while since I've written anything here. In truth, I've been meaning to but couldn't work up the energy, not really sure why.
I gave my two weeks notice today. If you had told me when I signed my staff contract with NBC that just 4 months later I'd be quitting I'd have told you that you were nuts. But here we are. Now there's a perfectly reasonable, and rational, reason for it but I can't get into it now. I will later, 2 weeks from now in fact.
In the continuing quest to get a good nights sleep I got my nose microwaved yesterday. The process took less time than than it did to numb my nose for the operation. Now my nose is filled with bloody snot and scabs, it's very sexy. But hopefully in 6 weeks I'll be breathing clearly through both nostrils again.
Denise and I are leaving the country. For two weeks. As soon as my employment ends we'll be jumping on a plane to Europe, so that we can check out Ireland, Scotland and England. Or least thats the plan. We'll see how well it goes once we start looking at prices.

| Seeking Lady Vaudevillians/Performance Artists Aug 12th, The Echo Curio, Echo Park |
[25 Jul 2008|01:58pm] |
Greetings Fellow Lady Vaudevillians and Performance Art Trailblazers,
The esteemed female-fronted Power Circus from Portland, Oregon has a scheduling conflict, and is alas, unable to grace the Echo Curio with us on August 12th for the latest installment of Veronique's Slice O' Red Velvet Vaudeville Variety Show.
Set length is 20 minutes (give or take).
Format is variety show style- I am the MC and "olio" entertainment (I perform musical comedy in between each act, as one is taking down and the next is setting up, so this means NO amplification and complex electric gear. The is no time for it, in order to retain the flow of the evening).
In their stead, I seek a worthy replacement. Perhaps another improv Noiz ensemble(?), or burlesque, or juggling, or art demo, or dancer(s)???
We have three gents on the bill already, to only one lady, so we seek two female performers to ensure an equal balance of yin to the yang presence.
Confirmed artists (including moi, of course) thus far:
1) Zachary Strange, Magician of the Macabre and Magic Castle Fellow 2) Paul Zollo, Soothing Troubador for Troubled Times 3) Gothic Cholo, Spoken Wordsmith 4) ? 5) ?
The venue, The Echo Curio, is a community-oriented performance and art space that runs strictly on a donation basis. The venue takes the first cut of the donations just to cover costs for opening the doors for the evening, and the rest of the donations (if any) will be distributed among the performers.
Please contact me ASAP, via MySpace: http://MySpace.com/VeroniqueRedVelvetVariety
Merci beaucoup!

The vast majority of people on the internet (ESPECIALLY message boards) are fucking dicks. These people trudge around looking for a fight and can't wait to launch into a useless tirade about how wrong you are and how right they are - for no good reason!
I don't engage in internet battles publicly, and I never talk shit about specific people anywhere. But these types of people make it quite difficult to maintain composure sometimes.

Holy shit am I irritated today. First of all my friend Stefanie who works in the cafe in my building, pissed me off this morning and then again a few moments later. Then my best friend Katie is accusing me of losing her house key when I gave it back to her months ago. This pisses me off even more then it should because she never puts forth effort to hang out with me or even have phone conversations then the one time she contacts me she says "I need the house key back" in an email...thats it...nothing more. Then my Netflix says that it just got a movie back that I never even received. That wouldn't have been such a big deal either but I really wanted to see this movie and it's on top of everything else that happened this morning. I was also going to go to the ocean this weekend but the people I was going with have made it far too complicated. I knew that my good fortune and attitude wasn't going to last. As is the peaks and valleys of life I suppose.
Yesterday I got to see my mom and we had cosmos. It was a nice visit but not nearly as good as the last one. Then I went over to Blythes for the best chicken dish I have ever had in my life.

Does anyone know a CD Significant Other community? I have some posts that I would like to run by some SOs, and this community isn't exactly the appropriate place for the questions I have. I am the CD, not the SO, but I want their unique perspective.

my only problem with ZSG and for that matter WWZ are max brooks' assumptions that this is what zombies are and this is how to fight them. which is fine, if you take these as works of fiction... however, too many 'zombie survivalists' treat these books as gospel. for example: z-day comes, you get yourself a .22 on max brooks' advice. z-day +1, you're one too. why? because YOU WERE USING A .22. .22LR rounds have difficulty piercing skulls, which is where you're gonna want to hit a zombie. go for a .30-06, .308 or .303 for maximum effect, many of these rounds will knock a target down even if a kill-shot is not acheived, giving you precious time to escape. and a machete? well, you'd want to be hoping you're a 'machete ninja' to decapitate a zombie...

| Hello |
[24 Jul 2008|09:42pm] |
Hmm... So I bought some makeup. I've only tried it twice and still haven't figured out a look to create with it. I think I need a better eyeliner... Anyway, I went shopping today and I bougt a white shirt with tie, and I bought some collogne. I figured I needed to step up the masculine touch if I was gonna be going around wearing makeup (not so sure I wanna... I'm hardly a pass as it is). Anyway, the only pic I have today is of me and my little son: Me and Robin Luv y'all! ^_~ *hug*
