Weekend Bear stuff, web site updates, business, career, etc.
This weekend I'm going to see one of my best friends, who is a musician and my relatively new roommate (although we've known each other over four years), perform at Bearapalooza.com. I helped Max redo his web site earlier this week. He has the performance schedules and even has MP3's which are downloadable. Besides his web site, business has actually been picking up for me (maybe a sign of the outgoing administration?). My technology/law consulting site is www.ursinet.com. Now all I need is a more challenging position in Manhattan beyond what I'm doing full-time. I am very disappointed in my IT career these days and am considering, once again, about embarking on the practice of law. I have a few months to decide if I want to take the bar exam in February 2005. I couldn't fathom taking it in July and studying in lieu of Pride, my birthday, the beach and generally enjoying the summer. It is only given twice a year. If I take the bar exam next February I will probably take the states of CT & NY. One of my best friends from law school, who is also a bear and who helped me in my coming out process tremendously, is moving back to the NYC area with his lover, with whom I am also becoming close friends. This law school colleague has offered to help me study as I graduated SEVEN years ago, so that might be an extra incentive. He is a little tired of practicing but he knows I'm not happy doing dismal jobs in IT in the meantime and the time has been ripe for a career change for many people.
