Progressive Flip Flopping Liberal Quotes continue to abound...
Last campaign I remember all the back-stabbing Nader voters calling the two parties "Republicrats" but haven't heard that once this time. Political terminology has been manipulated faster than I've ever seen in this campaign. Language is an interesting thing and of course is bringing the world closer together, facilitated by technology and travel. Some day we will have one language and it will probably be a derivative of English, so I implore our offspring to be careful how racist, sexist and homophobic our language currently is.

I still do not accept that "liberal" is a dirty word, but I don't mind being called a progressive. I also think "flip-flopping" is the criticism that Bush cronies have come to use for countering their "more of the same [misery] policies." Even with both houses of the same party as Bush in recent years, what good has he done for the United States?

Quote of the day I got from the Bear Mailing List (although I am not sure who this originally credited author of the quote is): "Not all conservatives are stupid, but all stupid people are conservative." H. L. Menckin

On the BML I also saw a quote recently that I've been paraphrasing which was something like: "Indifference is a Weapon of Mass Destruction."

"Anybody want to buy some wood?" No, Bush, surely you need to retain all the wood your little lumber company owns to replenish the gaps in your block head.

I like the word "fundies" for the Ralph Reed types (what a scary guy he is and boy has he learned to cut down on the geesus proselytizing), but I also think we should adopt other diminutives for our enemies like "Repubs" which, if you say it fast enough, appropriately sounds like "repugs" as in repugnant.
