Water/ shower sling recomendation, please?
What water/ shower sling do you love? My son is back to hating bath time. And will put up with a bath if I hold him the whole time. This is very hard to do with a slipper toddler. My son is all most 14 months old. He weights 21lb 12 oz and he is 29.25 inches tall. I would like some thing I could use for a couple of years. Since my grandparents live on a lake. And a water sling would be nice for when we want to cool off the baby.

I would also like one that I can use when it is dry. Bonus points for being $60 or less. I would love to find a Water Solarveil Ring Sling. I also need to find it is gender neutral or boy colors. Since my boyfriend does not like when I do girly colors with our son. Even though I don't care.

I am 5' 4", 170lb, I wear large to Xl shirt(size 14-16 US women's sizes)I am also well endowed. My boyfriend is 6'2" and 250lb. All though I doubt he will wear it.

What to get
I'm trying to decide between a maya sling or a sling ezee. I had surgery on my shoulder a while bck to have a tumor removed and sometimes things rubbing on my scar irritate it. I was thinking the padding on the sling ezee might be easier on this, but I dont know. The lady at our diaper store heavily pushes the maya.

What are your opinions.

BTW Ashley is 11 days old, and I'm hoping to get something before the 1st of August when we ill be going out of town for a family reunion. The reunion is going to be outside at a park for most of the day so I'm hoping to have the sling to carrier her.

Looking for a hotsling
My sister had borrowed my hotsling for her daughter and loved it. She returned it to me, since I'm still using it sometimes for my 16-month-old (it's nice to have in the diaper bag for when he decides he wants to be carried). But I know she'd like to have one for her 10-month-old daughter. Does anyone have a size 4 hotsling (or similar pocket sling) they'd want to part with?

My husband's Babyhawk arrived today
We sold our stroller last month. With the proceeds of the sale, I got a Didymos Iris and he got a custom Babyhawk.

Babywearing in the airport, update
Thanks for everyone's advice to my previous post about which carrier to take on a trip, managing the airport, etc.  I ended up bringing my mei-tai, wrap, and comfy joey.  In reality, only needed the mei-tai.   I was able to wear my daughter through security in both airports, but randomly had to remove her Robeez on the way home.

Everything went very well for her first flight!

Hi everyone...
New member here :)

I hope this post doesn't violate community rules.

I am needing advice on making mei tais. I am planning to make mei tais for sale on ebay or etsy, I haven't really decided which yet.

So, my questions for you all are, what do you look for in a mei tai? What features are absolutely necessary? What features lacking would be a deal-breaker for you? And finally, what is the range of prices you would pay for a DIY mei tai?

And, here's my son in his mei tai that I made recently for a trip to Disneyland:

Constructive criticism welcome!

TIA!

ring sling or gypsymama?
So, I've been looking for a lightweight carrier and really either want to try a ringsling or wrap.  We currently have a Moby that we love.  Before I knew they were evil, I tried one of those SlingRiders and I really didn't like the shape or weight distribution.

Does this look like a comfortable ring sling? I still don't understand what you can do with the dangling tail besides throw it over your baby's head. Is there anything else you can do with it?  At what point does the child start to feel too heavy in these?

I've also been looking at the GypsyMama carriers.  There's a water wrap that looks pretty interesting and fun.  Does anyone own one or know what kind of frabric its made out of?  For the balibreeze wraps, is the feel really different than a Moby because it doesn't look like it stretches as much.

Thanks. :)

moby wrap questions...
I'm looking into getting a moby for the next little one due in march. Tell me weather or not it seems like a "good fit".  We live in Houston.  I want to wear this one since I have another lo that will only be a year and a half.  Its hot here a lot, but when it is we are in the A/C most of the time.  OH....I forgot.  How large does it go up?  I'm about a size 20 right now, but by the time I give birth I will probably be a 22-24.  Will it fit?
TIA!

ergo, mei tei, facing out
Hey,
I used to wear my baby in the Hotsling. facing out. He liked it a lot. He can't do it anymore (hasn't been able to for a while). He hates the Ergo. He pushes my chest and wants to turn around. I was thinking of getting a bigger Hotsling or a ring sling or maybe a mei tei...but I am thinking the mt would be bad because it's very similar to the ergo.
Can you use the ergo or an mt facing out? I tried the back carry, but he still did not like that.

At this point he is 8 months, and happy being mobile on the floor for some time, but sometimes he just wants to be carried doing whatever I'm doing (though more accurately - he wants to be carried to where I am, and then he wants me to put him down, and then he wants me to sit with him and watch him play which is fine but sometimes things need to get done so ants don't take over the kitchen). I carry him on my hip whenever I'm doing stuff, but I could really use two hands sometimes. I don't know.

Carrying twins?
Hola! I've been watching this community for quite some time but don't have a baby to wear yet so I've not really participated. I do have a question though...

I've got twins rumbling around inside me right now and would still love to baby carry. Is there a way to carry twins with wraps? Do you recommend any specific baby holsters for twinkies? I've found some carriers designed for twins online but I'd like to make mine and would also like to wrap from time to time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
TIA

Mei Tai recommendations
We have a tiny carrier collection that includes an SBP ring sling the baby and I have never been comfortable with, my husband's Ergo, a black MTB we share, a full buckle tie Dream Carrier that is missing the snap that holds the shoulder straps behind my back, and a Beco I'd use more if I could figure out how to put it on quickly and comfortably.  So I have some obvious questions.

I'd like a new mei tai in another color for when I'm not wearing black. What is your favorite brand? Ideally I'd like this to work for my six month old and still work when he is a toddler. So far I'm searching the FSOT for Olives & Applesauce and Freehand, but I'd like hear about your well loved brands.

Is there a good Beco (4th gen) tutorial? I use it for a front carry and I can never adjust the straps once it is on for a comfortable fit and I can never place that back strap perfectly.

Thanks ladies!

Which carrier(s) to bring on a trip?
 Hi ~

I'm heading off on a five day trip on Wednesday.  It's a work trip, but I'm bringing my daughter (and my sister to watch her while I'm working).  I'm trying to figure out which carriers to bring, if I need more than one, etc. etc.

I'm definitely bringing the mei-tai.  I was considering bringing my Indio, only because it's so soft and comfy.  I don't know if I really *need* it, although it is versatile.  Also, maybe my comfy joey or one of the hotslings?  I also have a solarveil ring sling, but I don't know if that's necessary.

Is this overkill?  Maybe I should just bring the mei-tai and a pouch.  Any thoughts?

Also, has anyone one their baby in an airport?  Will I have to take her out to go through security?  I'd hate for her to be sleeping and then have to take her out -- I'd rather keep her in the stroller, and awake, until we get through security.

Action Baby Carrier - review
I've been meaning to post my thoughts & experiences with the Action Baby Carrier, since mamas on this community were kind enough to chime in their thoughts & opinions when I was choosing a carrier.

I ended up purchasing an ABC as a soft-structured carrier sounded like the best bet in terms of something that would be good for baby + me with the humidity and easy to use. I bought it from HeavenlyHold.com as they offer free shipping for purchases $90 & above and at $89, it was close enough. :)

Pros:

+ price - I think the ABC is worth its price and I can see how it will last baby + I into toddlerhood
+ padding on the shoulder and hip belt - soooo comfy!
+ pretty colours & prints available - I got the Larissa
+ easy to use and easy to adjust straps
+ can be folded to a nice, compact size to fit in diaper bag, etc.
+ baby likes it and he can still look around, etc.

Cons:

- instruction sheet - it covers the basic front & back carry, but could stand to have more info
- even though you can use this carrier in a hip carry, it's not exactly designed for it...I was somewhat misled by that
- due to my (petite) size, the hip belt strap (after adjusting) is too long

All in all, I'm pleased with my purchase.
It's been nice to wear baby without feeling like my shoulder will soon fall off (I had a ring sling prior and baby was just getting too heavy!) and he feels good & secure in the ABC.
Over the next couple of weeks, we'll be taking a trip and it'll be great just to bring a carrier & not worry about a stroller.

That's all...hope this review helps a mama out :)

Homemade Moby
Since no one bothered (perhaps everyone was doing something for the 4th) to respond, I decided to just cut the fabric and try it out. It works like a charm! He's still in it and out like a light! I got a load of laundry done, photos uploaded, a lengthy email to my MIL sent, and after this post I plan to do dishes and start a very late supper (which seems to be all I ever get now). Woot! Yes, it did take a bit to tie the thing on me but getting him in it after that was a breeze! 13 bucks at Wal-mart for the fabric and I still have a whole other piece that I am going to give to a friend so she can babywear too!

Please ignore the goofy facial expression!

Did I eff up?
So I bought some material and now am worried that it won't be sturdy enough for a homemade moby. It's 50% cotton, 50% poly. I only spent 13 bucks and got 6.5 yards so it's not like I would be out a ton and I do have my Maya, but I was hoping this would work. Yes? No? Help!
