I was at the San Diego Zoo today. Now this is a zoo that knows how to do baby animals! There will be chimps and giraffes and meerkats and many others later. But I had to share these... I have tons more, but these are the two I could find and clean up the quickest. :)
Jin-Jin is going to be a year old next month and is the 4th baby her mother has successfully born and raised at the SD Zoo.

My Cat-A-Day calendar photo today is showing a peeved-looking tabby cat who looks just like my grumpy tabby at home. However, because Rob came to us at 18 months old from Animal Care, I have no kitten pics of him. *woe*
So, I went looking for tiny tabbies :)

OK, guys, I'm tired (because it's cold) and sad (because my puppy is sick and we don't know why although we'll take him to the vet tomorrow morning) so I've decided it's time for a flame war. And we all know the rules. Only ONE sort of Community Fight is allowable.
And here's my vote. What's the cutest, if you had to choose between a baaaaaaaaby hippo and a ( baaaaaby rhino? ) images courtesy of the George Eastman collection, date to about 1910, and alas, includes a hyoooo-man (as well as a monkey on the rhino's back). But I think you'll forgive me - once the fight is over.

I caught this family of bald eagles on the beach in front of my house the other day. Just remember, these are the noble symbols of the United States of America in about five years.
