Today marks the beginning of frantic cramming and stressful two-hours (sometimes an-a-half) sessions.

And what better way to start it than with the Moral paper.

On the floor affectionately dubbed 'the meat locker floor' (with good cause).

*mutters something about 'brain freeze' and 'mittens'*

What really didn't help was that I actually dreamt about the exam yesterday, where the entire Section A of my paper was devoid of any questions. Finished it somehow and woke up only to realize I hadn't actually sat for the actual paper, sob.

Well, I guess it could be worse, really. Gave myself a heart-attack when the invigilator announced the end of the exam just when I found out that I was supposed to shade in the objective answers, not circle them. Seriously, 30 seconds worth of panic, messily scrawled scribbles and five years of my life lost, I think.

The true moral of this story: PLEASE TO BE READING THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST NEXT TIME, KTHXBAI. *dies*

In happier news, happy birthday, Mom~! ♥♥♥ \(^o^)/

Bring back my monies to me, to me

Got a call from Highpoint (the Acer service center) and it's official: my laptop's motherboard is busted. Worse, they don't have any spare parts to replace it, so it's bye-bye Choutan. It has served me well for 3 years though, so I feel more than a little regretful about having to replace it. Thanks for all your hard work, Choutan; I had been looking forward to another few years with you. T____T

Acer did offer some trade-in options; 7 of them, in fact. All are worth at least RM1K though, with the most recommended one being RM2K+. Granted, the latter's original price is RM3K+, but wooooo, my monies. I NEED TO BE FRUGAL, DAMMIT - NEXT TERM'S FEES ARE ALREADY KNOCKING ON MY DOORSTEP. T____________T

(Thanks for all the tech-translations and help, [info]slay_x! Seriously, I really, really appreciate it. T^T)

So, I'm going to ponder over my choice for a bit - according to Victor, the cheaper ones are at least 2x better than Choutan and the two most expensive ones 10x better (for an extra RM1K that I could use for other things). Doesn't help that the logical side of my brain says 'GO, GO TO THE MOUNTAIN FOR THE MOST EFFICIENT LAPTOP' but the other side is hanging on for dear life to my wallet.

And of course, there is that neglected half of my hemisphere going 'WTF ARE YOU DOING TALKING ABOUT LAPTOPS; YOUR MORAL FINALS ARE TOMORROW AND YOU HAVEN'T EVEN MEMORIZED THE 12 HINDU VALUES, WTF D8<'

...*headdesks fervently*

(Lacking a frustrated icon, you guys can have emo Hirai Ken instead.)

My laptop finally caved today; all I get is a stubborn black screen whenever I turn it on.

So off it goes to the service center with a prayer that it'll be fine. *worries*

Oh and [info]futomimii? MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, DO I LOOK REPENTANT TO YOU? >8DDD *loops Arashi's 'Truth' again*

Haven't been studying, ORZ. I really should, but it's hard to muster up that panic-induced adrenaline needed to kickstart revision when it hasn't set in yet.

Anyway, got tagged by [info]futomimii, so here goes:

A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs & replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

B) Tag 8 people to do this quiz & those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by & cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. Continue this game by sending it to other people.

TMI? What TMI? )

Tagging [info]yuncyn, [info]carneaglariel, [info]aiwritingfic, [info]disutansu, [info]candy__chan, [info]dmjewelle, [info]a_lighter_side and [info]piratelicker. Sorry if you've already been tagged or something! ^^;;

3. Answer one question with one name.
4. Don't tell the questions to anyone who isn't doing.

Two days into study week and all I've been doing is sleeping. 8D;; Oops?

Took a lot of pictures in the past two days alone - makes me wonder if my subconscious was trying to compensate for the lack of photos throughout the semester.

Pretty large photodump - you have been warned.

First, here's the newspaper assignment we had to do for our Journalism 2 - 4 pages of brainbreak, layout woes, late nights and editting.

+3 Honeycomb pictures )

Then, on the last day of the teaching semester, I suddenly felt the need to take a few random photos:

That kinda expanded until we ([info]yuncyn, [info]folklorist, Sal and I) ended up taking a whole bunch of photos by the side of PG (the furniture block) since the cafeteria crew weren't in that day to stare at four students who are obviously tengah syok sendiri (enjoying (indulging?) themselves).

+9 random photos )

And because I haven't posted her here lately:

Now, with the impending exams coming, this is my current state of mind:

Just got back from the overnight Cornerstone Baptist Church (CBC) Lock-In event; it was pretty fun - will probably go for the one at the end of the year too if I can. I just hope it doesn't clash with CF.

Next time though, I will bring a blanket and a pillow. *nods decisively* And by hook or by crook, I will figure out how to brown a sausage without turning at least one side into carbon.

Also, KJ's treasure-hung-clues hiding places are tough. >____> I spent goodness-knows-how-many minutes looking over the entire photocopier and STILL did not find the clue said to be there.

Going to go catch a few winks - Saturday was another whole day out, with uni, ECO tutoring and the Lock-In rolled into one - snowballing into an early next day meant an even higher sleep debt and believe me, I've accumulated quite a large one as it is.

Will catch up with my F-list skimming in a few hours or so. In the meantime, I hope everyone's doing okay. *hugs*

Happy Hari Merdeka, Malaysia! I felt a bit gypped regarding the fireworks though; I spent 30 futile minutes waiting on the church rooftop and forsaking the BBQ pit hoping for a few dazzlers and all I got was some distant booming noises.

Still, there is always next year. ^^;

Last lecture week of the semester - six days of study break and Finals exams will be upon us, egads. >___>;;

Coursework marks have been coming back - so far, it's all alright (phew!), with nothing that should pull my grade down. We still haven't gotten our morphology, psycholing. and academic writing assignment marks though.

The past few days have been crammed with quick trips to Midvalley Megamall from uni. Not purely for the pleasure of lepaking (hanging out) though; been searching for presents to buy our lecturers and my mom (since it's her birthday next month), the latter being a bit of a challenge. Doesn't help that I do my shopping with someone whose birthday ALSO falls in September and I can't ninja-buy her anything for fear the surprise will be blown. So how about it, [info]yuncyn, ol' pal? A spatula good with ya?

Moral learnt: Do not ever, EVER carry a heavy bag + books when you have to ride the KTM train; if leg ache isn't enough, I'm probably going to have sloping shoulders before I'm 25.

My long-standing grudge with the KTM train has been renewed in the past two days alone. Give me the LRT any day.

Thanks to early classes, we managed to watch 'Wall-E' today and HOMG, IT WAS AMAZING, HOW CAN A ROBOT BE SO CUTE AND SOULFUL ♥♥♥ The plot was fairly simple and understandable; what really makes the movie so memorable is the emotional relativity conveyed through the various characters. The cockroach, for one, was (I can't believe I'm typing this) so likable and likewise goes to the supporting cast of both humans and robots. The emotional growth of both Wall-E and Eve was also particularly well-done and pretty subtle. And I have a super soft spot for Moe, that obsessive cleaning disorder robot; LOL!!!

Seriously though, F-list - if you can, go catch this movie. It's really worth it - am now wondering if I should download/buy it.

Oh, before I forget, lemme just post this here:

Comic Fiesta '08
Date: 20-21 Dec 2008
Venue: Sunway Pyramid Convention Hall
Time: 11am-7pm

Never hurts to spread the word! ^^

Am tired, both mentally and physically. I really need to readjust my sleep schedule. In the meantime, study week means I can sleep in to gear up for the early exam mornings. I also predict lots of either DW or Reflexive Arcade games during that period.

Am not looking forward to revision but then again, who ever does?

Currently, I'm the only person in my family who is not sick. Ummm, strong constitution, maybe? ^^;;

My brother's getting better, but now my mom's the one who's wheezing all around the house. She's better than she was a few days ago though, so it should be alright.

Uni was a rush last week (last-minute shocker when we found out one of our assignments wasn't in line with one of the requirements), but two more weeks and hello, end of term (and Finals, SOB).

In other news, I have gotten addicted to the Olympic song, Beijing Welcomes You/Beijing Huan Ying Ni . It's so catchy, one can't help but sway along (even if one's chinese skills are pretty much nonexistent like mine, oops >D;;). Stand Up! is also pretty cool; love the verses.

In the meantime, I'm looking for the song 'The Moon is Bright Tonight', the Chinese folk song sung during the closing but so far, no luck.

I'VE ALSO FINALLY UNDERSTOOD ALL THE 'BOOM DE YADA, BOOM DE YADA' DEAL GOING ON, ORZ.

Finally got to play DW5 again! T^T9 So far, I've maxed out 4 characters from Shu (Zhao Yun, Ma Chao, Jiang Wei, Xing Cai), 4 from Wu (Zhou Yu, Lu Xun, Ling Tong, Xiao Qiao), 2 from Wei (Zhen Ji, Cao Pi) and Lu Bu. Not quite sure who I want to play next, but I'm considering either Zhang He or Diao Chan, depending on whose 4th weapon is harder to get.

And [info]iyori? Zhou Yu's friendship with Sun Ce? WAAAAAAAAAY more disturbing than Zhuge Liang and Jiang Wei. I'M SORRY, BUT ZHOU YU, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUUUUU( YOU HAVE A WIFE, DAMMIT). D8< I liked him better in Xiao Qiao's musou mode.

My brother fell sick after all. And pretty badly too - he's even stopped snarking at me in favor of going to sleep several times today.

Had to drive him out to the clinic during lunch to get some medicine (and me not having driven in ages, orz). However, managed to not crash the car and nab a parking lot relatively quickly in an area usually congested with vehicles - thank God for little mercies.

My mom will likely be cutting her trip to Kedah short - apparently, the hospital only allows one visitor in at a time and since my 2nd auntie is constantly by my grandmother's side, my mom can't really do much up there. She's also a bit worried about things at home, I guess, though I've reassured her that everything's alright down here.

According to her, the problem with my grandmother lay in her ovaries(?I think; the line was pretty crackly when I called). They're supposed to shrink with old age; one of them did just that. The other, however, swelled to, in my mother's own words, 'the size of a pomelo'. O______<

Anyway, the operation is over and done with; now, all we can do is hope she recovers from it alright.

I'm glad my mom's coming back though; in between assignment deadlines, a puppy and a sick brother, I've pretty much got my hands full - gotta keep the house tidy and finish up my newspaper assignment to boot. Thank goodness there are no classes today and only a short two-hour one tomorrow- won't be too hectic commuting between uni and home and I'll be able to keep an eye on things.

Tomorrow should be alright though - given my brother's health record, he should be up and snarking just fine come tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, I'll try not to get infected by his germs, lol.

By the way, you guys who replied to my last post? Thanks yo; I really, really appreciate your concern. *hugs tightly*

Anyway, off to finish my Jap homework before class tonight~

It's a Slow Fade

The semester's coming to an end soon (give or take a month?) - I don't feel geared for my Finals at all and there's so many things hanging in the air at the moment (like assignment grades and whatnot).

Also need to finish off two news reports for our Journalism assignment, but I can't quite muster up the enthusiasm to write them, orz.

Just found out this morning my grandmother has an intestine problem, where it apparently gave out. She needs to undergo an operation, which is really risky, given her age. What doesn't help is the fact that she's already suffering from Alzheimers, which makes it all the more painful to picture the confusion she must be going through at the moment.

I've never been close to my grandmother (language and distance barrier), but I can't help but feel really, really sorry for her. Seriously, I can't even bring myself to imagine how bewildering everything is to her; I mean, Alzheimers is bad enough on its own, but coupled with the trips to the hospital, she must be pretty frightened. >___<

As heartless and stupid as this may sound, if it were me in that state [of not knowing anything], in my current frame of mind, I think I'd willingly choose to well, pass away (if I could). I don't think I can stand the sheer horror of losing one's grasp on memories and everything that's made precious because of those memories.

Is it then hypocritical of me to hope she makes it through this? It's so easy to state opinions like this, but the emotional impact it'll have on people close to you is....well, massive. Likewise, I don't want my mom and aunties to be so stressed out and worried.

*sighs* Don't mind me; I don't think I'm making much sense right now; logic's being derailed as it always is once emotions come into play. I'm definitely not emo though - more tired than anything else.

My mom's popping over to Kedah 1st thing tomorrow - my brother will be around (break from uni), so I won't have to bother anyone to accompany me. I think he's getting sick too though - hope I don't catch it from him (or that he gets sick in the first place).

Just finished watching the Gold medal round for Men badminton singles and I rather feel like strangling the people in the stands. =___= Even though I'd totally do it myself if it were in Malaysia, orz.

Their cheering was so incredibly loud even on TV; I can't imagine how immensely overwhelming it must be over there, much less in Lee Chong Wei's ears. >D;;; TRAIN WITH EARPLUGS NEXT TIME?

To be fair, he's definitely been in better form, but I doubt anyone can blame him from getting shell-shocked from all the insane yelling. Plus, Lin Dan is actually pretty darn good (and that's putting it very lightly), even without the home-ground advantage.

But like [info]yuncyn put it, it is still THE BEST MERDEKA PRESENT EVER, DARNIT. MALAYSIAN FLAG DURING THE OLYMPIC PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY SINCE.....SINCE I CAN'T REMEMBER. HAH, HAD TO DIG IT OUT FROM THE BOX, DINCHA, OFFICIALS???

*coughs*

And if anyone dares to bash his performance, why don't YOU go give it a go then?? Seriously, getting to where he went is amazing on its own, even without the gold medal match.

Fic: Complicated [Xiao Qiao/Zhou Yu]

  • Aug. 12th, 2008 at 2:24 AM
LOLZ, Robert
Second Dynasty warriors fic ever attempted and it just had to be because of a cracky MSN convo.

Since it is best illustrated by said convo, it all started with this:

[info]axtar: Wu men? Are all built for Mills and Boons

Cue discussion, contemplation, lots of laughter and headwalling until:

[info]yuncyn: ....SHIT WEI IF THIS CONTINUES WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WRITE THIS TO GET IT OUT OF OUR SYSTEM
[info]yuncyn: THOUGH I CAN'T IMAGINE ZHOU YU AND SUN CE WITH ANYONE BUT THEIR WIVES
[info]axtar: WU: X RATED
[info]yuncyn: I SAID _IF THIS CONTINUES_
[info]axtar:..SHIT
[info]axtar: ZHOU YU, GET OUTTA MY HEAD
[info]yuncyn: ....PLEASE DON'T SAY YOU HAVE AN IDEA
[info]yuncyn: YOU _HAVE_ AN IDEA.
[info]axtar: I WON'T SAY IT.
[info]yuncyn: YOU HAVE AN IDEA?!?!?!?!
[info]axtar: I'M PICTURING SOMEONE SCRABBLING DESPERATELY FOR A STRATEGY
[info]yuncyn: FOR A MILLS AND BOONS STARRING _ZHOU YU_ OF ALL PEOPLE!??!
[info]axtar: AND FAILING TO FIND ONE
[info]yuncyn: .....*DIES LAUGHING ALL OVER THE KEYBOARD*

Dare ensues, crappy drabble is done and then Denise just had to do it:

[info]yuncyn: YOU KNOW
[info]yuncyn: I TOTALLY _DARE_ YOU TO POST THAT ON LJ
[info]axtar:............................................I will do it.
[info]axtar: IF.
[info]yuncyn:....oh NO.
[info]yuncyn: I DO NOT LIKE THAT IF.
[info]yuncyn: WHAT'S WITH THE IF.
[info]axtar: You write SUN CE/DA QIAO MILLS AND BOONS DRABBLE
[info]yuncyn: *SPEWS* I _KNEW_ IT
[info]axtar: I'll even EDIT MINE
[info]yuncyn: ...OKAY FINE
[info]axtar: AND UP THE MILLS AND BOONS UST
[info]yuncyn: BUT I'M STILL SAYING THIS WAS ALL YOUR IDEA
[info]axtar:.....WTF, SINCE WHEN
[info]yuncyn: YOU AND YOUR WU MILLS AND BOONS MEN!
[info]axtar: YOU TOTALLY GOT THE BALL ROLLING WITH YOUR ZHOU YU SUGGESTION
[info]yuncyn: I SAID LING TONG!
[info]yuncyn: THEN YOU WENT AND CORRECTED HIS REACTION

Mentioned drabble (originally of 103 words) has obviously morphed into...well, this. I'M SORRY DENISE, I DID MY BEST TO MAKE IT PWP and Mills and Boons, BUT FAILED SO SO MISERABLY. Oh well. There is always Zhen Ji/Cao Pi.

Anyway, before I forget, here is a direct dare for [info]futomimii and [info]iyori, which Denise and I agreed on:

I'M DARING EITHER ONE OF YOU TO ILLUSTRATE ANY PART OF THIS DRABBLE. SERIOUSLY. 8D

Anyway!

It's been ages since I've used the fic tag, wow~

Before you start wondering if I've suddenly kicked my fanfic-writing gears into action again, this isn't a new fic. ^^;; I can't even quite remember when I wrote this (forgot to check the date before I edited it), but I'm thinking sometime late last year.

Can't believe I forgot about this though! I'm quite fond of it - Fuji's fun to write, when he's being cooperative in my head. I think I saved it back then, intending to edit it when I was free only to forget about it when assignments flooded in. >D;;; Oh well. Didn't edit much of it; if there's any mistakes I may have made, I'd appreciate the heads-up!

Finally handed in my Morphology assignment today; phew, that's a load off my shoulders! Can't predict the grade I'll get for it, but at least I can't worry and stress over it any more. Half our class was missing for the whole day rushing it; we definitely weren't the only sleep-deprived students in class today!

(Not So) Fun Fact: It took me 3 hours to sort my citations, references and bibliography - roughly the same time it took for me to discuss Part 3 of my assignments (prepositions as a lexical/functional category).

This means after our newspaper project, Academic Writing essay and one more Morphology quiz, we'll be done with this semester (excluding Finals)!

In the meantime, I've garnered quite an extensive list of movies I want to catch at the cinema. 'Red Cliff' doesn't seem to be showing any more (darnit!!! D8<) and 'Dark Knight' might follow suit if I don't watch it in time. I'm depending on its popularity to keep it around for a little longer though.

List:
i) Red Cliff (DVD)
ii) Journey to the Center of the Earth (3D)
iii) Wall-E (coming soon)
iv) The Dark Knight
v) You Don't Mess with the Zohan (No, seriously.)
vi) Mamma Mia! (coming soon)
vii) Unleashed (on DVD)
viii) The Forbidden Kingdom (yes, still!)

Egads! My poor wallet. D8<

Missed the Olympics opening in favor of catching 'The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor', solely because it had Jet Li and Brendan Fraser. While not as good as the previous two, it was still pretty decent. [info]yuncyn and I agreed that it's not easy to break out of the formulaic 'kill-the-mummy,save-the-world' loop and reinvent it to make it seem fresh. The CG work was pretty cool and there were some funny moments here and there, so all was good. >D

Olympics-wise, the events I really, really want to catch are the swimming, diving, gymnastic and basketball; hope they don't clash with my classes!

Also hoping to be able to do free-style writing sometime soon; missing fanfiction as well. If I was rusty before, I'm probably really, really out of touch with it now, ugh.

I am a fruitcake and that is crazy-cool!

Expect incoherency - that's what you get from me late at night. >D

Just got back from Passion World Tour 2008, woooo! My throat is hoarse and my feet are kinda tired but wow. Just wow.

What can I say? I can't think of enough adjectives to sum it up, but here are the few I can think of at the moment: crazy-cool, amazing, God-driven, phenomenal. If I could attend it all over again, I would in a heartbeat, hands-down, no second questions.

The conference was at the Sunway Convention Center - we (KJ, Adam, Stella, Denise and I) got there relatively early, around 4-ish or so. Turned out to be a pretty smart move, considering the 4k-strong crowd that turned up (so many people!! O___O) We managed to secure seats four rows from the front, right side - with the exception of the large camera blocking off a part of the stage view, they were pretty darn good seats. Yay for assimilation? Inside joke.

Chris Tomlin was crazy-cool! Likewise with Charlie Hall (though I'm less familiar with his songs, admittedly). But really, Louie Giglio's message really took the cake - it was, for the lack of a better word, awesome. I can't summarize the full awesomeness of the whole thing, but one of the highlights is definitely how God reaches out to everyone who reaches out to him without any hesitation, even the 'screw-ups'. Oh and how we Christians are all 'fruitcakes' who go to conferences with people 'with no life'. >D

Man, I've never been prouder of being a fruitcake - I am, after all, a 'crazy person who has to act normal so that I can get along with others but am actually not normal because I'm crazy for God'. >D Woohoo! (Seriously, if I ever really do bump into Ashley in Heaven, I have to stop and thank her - her testimony is really beginning to shine all over the world. Our God is indeed mighty to save.)

A bonus was that just this morning in church, KJ showed Louie's 'How Great is Our God' message - that totally blew me away and really hyped me up for the night conference. You can watch the first part of that HERE on Youtube; the rest of the links should be in the 'related videos' sidebar. Watch it; it is mind-blowing on a whole new level of mind-blowing.

The main star, of course, was God - he was definitely there tonight, amongst us. Gotta thank Passion for reminding me that our God is awesome times infinity and then some and that he is looking out for us 24/7. ♥ And thanks God, for bringing up this opportunity to attend this - it came at a pretty good time, considering my life has been hitting a few lows these past few weeks. I'm gonna pick my self-confidence off the floor, shake the dust off it and start trying to use it; if You say I'm a miracle, who am I to say I'm worthless?

Will be wearing my wristband until at least Tuesday - I may not be able to beat KJ's 'wear-it-till-it-drops-off-my-wrist' though. >D

I also need to get my hands on a Chris Tomlin album. Now. Or soonish anyway. (T^T)9

Super-succinct post, but I have to go do some research on Garrett's speech production model for Psycholing, acccck.

Another whole day out: 7.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. on a cramped stomach to boot!

Spent my morning in Journalism lectures and EL meetings, my afternoon (and evening) at PC Fair and my night holed up at both the LRT and bus stations.

Swam through hoards of people, got bumped and pushed around, got lost once (when searching for my brother), gained really tired feet and endured the heat of goodness-knows-how-many-people cramped into a space.

BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT FOR THE 500GB EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE I GOT. ♥♥♥♥(T^T)9

And below my budget to boot! I was actually so physically (and mentally) prepared to pay more for one (and forego it if it proved too expensive) that I actually stopped and goggled at the prices until the throng pushed me along. Admittedly, I'll have to skimp on things for a few months and figure out how to rearrange the electricity sockets to accommodate for yet another plug but at least that'll be a load off my C: Drive. Plus, I can utilize my 80GB portable as back-up and for traveling purposes. (Thanks [info]slay_x for bearing with my pestering and bother for advice and help! Owe ya (more than) one! ;D Also, thanks [info]ultra_butterfly for the info on your HD. Really appreciate it! ^^)

Seriously, I was almost swayed into buying cheaper HDs with the same capacity - it's hard to make a choice when there's so many different brands around you and you're not exactly very tech-savvy.@_@ I'm pretty pleased with the one I got though; the brand is well-known and [info]slay_x said it performs fairly well. Here's to hoping it works flawlessly for the next few years!

Also bought a pair of earphones for below RM20 (student price apparently, whaddya know?); joy~! My bass-picky brother deemed them acceptable; we tested every pair we were interested in on his phone before we (or rather, he) pronounced judgment. I really should up my tech-smarts before I hit PC Fair again. =p

Extremely tired now - going to have to rush my half of the psycholing. assignment possibly on Monday (since I'll be out again tomorrow). Sorry Dylane! I'll make it up to you somehow! T______T

My icon doesn't quite match my mood, but that's the closest to what I'm currently feeling, I guess. Darn LJ random picks.

Found out today that our Psycholing. assignment is due on the 8TH, not the 12th of August. D8<

So, my life as it currently stands:

Morpho. assignment - next week, Fri (50% done, unchecked)
Psycholing. assignment Garrett Model) - next week, Fri (0% done, unresearched)
Psycholing. exam - tomorrow (0% revised, notes scattered)
Pend. Moral presentation - next week, Wed (0% practice)
Academic Writing assignment - next week, Thurs (100% draft, 20% checked)
Journalism newspaper - far enough for me to ignore for now (70% info, 0 % done)
YF meeting notes - possibly next week, 0% typed
YF directory - SOON, 0% typed
Eng Week - in progress; 0 puzzle books returned

And I just took my Moral midterm yesterday.

MY LIFE PROMISES MUCH STRESS, HEADDESKING, BRAIN-BREAKAGE AND POSSIBLY LATE NIGHTS. D8<

Only silver lining is the Passion World Tour 2008 this Sunday; Chris Tomlin live, woohoo! Managed to snag tickets by a stroke of luck (Thanks KJ; I owe ya ;D). I kinda want to go for the live conference in FBC PJ tomorrow, but I'll see how it all works out first; may end up being too busy, woe.

*trudges off to study*

axtar, hmmm, contemplative
I hadn't intended this to be a photo dump, but oh well. ^^

Finally managed to dig out the pictures from my mom's camera from Comiworld 2007...only to find out she deleted a large number of them.

Ah well, at least I rescued a few pictures out - I finally have that frontal pic of Chizuru I've been wanting!

+2 Chizuru photo-spammage )

Also, several pictures from Bon Odori (gratuitously nabbed from [info]futomimii ;D) :

Round the Clock/These Good Times

calm, Kagetoki
Two completely full days from 8 a.m. to 11.00 p.m/8.30 p.m, whoooooo~ *falls into heap on sofa* Not that I'm complaining, mind you, since a good majority of the time spent was in enjoying myself!

Went to Bon Odori - glad I did, if just to get to hang out with friends!!! (^o^) *hugs* Haven't met you guys in ages; blame it on uni and transport problems, ahahahaha orz. Met a number of awesome people as well. ;D Sorry if I accidentally annoy anyone or something; I can do that sometimes, I think. ^^;;

The event was even rowdier this year and not in a good way: there were quite a number of trouble makers who kept disrupting the dance lines again and again with childish clowning around, go figure. =___= And I still haven't figured out the reason for that creepy yellow rabbit-guy.

On the DW front, DYNASTY WARRIORS 5 GET-O! (>o<)9 Okay, to be honest, I got the game quite a while ago - finished Zhao Yun's story some time back. It's rather different from Empires in a few aspects. For one, the peons soldiers don't run away like they do in DW5:E. And whoa, they really do respawn like crazy - it's not easy reaching 600 KOs in Empires, but the numbers far surpass that in DW5.

Also, I now know why everyone grumbles about the English dubs - as much as I like Zhao Yun, his voice makes me cry when he speaks more that 3 sentences. WHY OH WHY MUST YOU SPEAK EVERY SINGLE WORD YOU UTTER IN SUCH AN ENTHUSIASTIC '8D' VOICE? T____T I'd be much obliged if he'd switch to the tone that he uses for thanking people. Empires has him only spouting one-liners, which is probably why I missed the full effect.

Worth mentioning: I got quintuple-teamed (is there even such a word?) by Ling Tong, Lu Xun, Gan Ning, Zhuge Jin and some other guy's name I missed, three of which have killed my character (Zhao Yun) six times before just by double-teaming alone. It would have been sextuple(?)-team but I managed to KO Shang Xiang before the others approached. Zhao Yun and Liu Bei were also the only two left on the map against all 7 of Wu's generals.

Even more worth mentioning: Zhao Yun survived. And won, even with his and Liu Bei hanging on with one-eighth of their lifebar and Liu Bei's erratic need to wipe out every single one of the enemy army before heading for the main goal. *True musou, never will I doubt you again*

Not planning to do work tonight - too tired to focus and I need some hard-core sleep. Will probably start (and hopefully finish) my Moral assignment tomorrow, mrrrgh.
