New house
I've been busy of late...Gabriel moved down from Boulder and into the Fortress of Awesome for a few weeks of crowdedness and hectic living. We then found a new place and moved out on our own. I haven't started getting much mail at the new place yet, so if you feel like sending me a letter I will be sure to return with one of equal or higher quality.

Why my job is the best....
Today I made hats with fruit on them,
did math based on vomiting
and went to a colonoscopy center to use the scope on the fake intestines we built yesterday out of playdough, paper towel rolls and glitter.

Peach Festival

Millions of peaches Peaches for me Millions of peaches Peaches for free
Zach and I went on a weekend getaway to take in some small town color and eat peaches in as many forms as possible. In the tiny town of Palisade (on the Western Slope of Colorado) they have a three-day peach festival (Palisade Peach Festival). We were only able to stay for a day, but it sure was worth it. We drove the four hours out there on Friday night, camped and awoke in the morning just in time to catch the Lion's Club Peach Pancake Breakfast.

The festival was visited by locals and tourists alike, with booths of crafts, merchandise and tons of peach-related deliciousness. As well, Palisade is located in an absolutely gorgeous natural setting.

There was a Peach Recipe contest and the general public was allowed tastes of each of the goodies at $.50 a pop. I ate Peach-Stuffed French Toast, Peach Cheesecake, Peach and Coconut Pie and Peach Sushi. Zach ate Lemon Peach Cobbler with Peach Ice Cream, Peach Salsa, Peach Cake and a mini-Peach Cookie. Mmmm

And what small-town festival would be complete without a parade? This one included visits from the mayor, the local real estate agent, the Town Grouch (an official festival position) and my personal favorite, the Mesa County Belly Dancers with requisite Veteran. He was definitely enjoying himself. Zach and I did the same, eating more peaches than one could shake a stick at...and we brought a crate back with us to continue the orgy of peachyness.
