How I feel: accomplished
I'm listening to: Richard Marx - Nothing To Hide
This weekend I basically have the flat to myself, arkore and the other two have gone to Nelson until sometime on Sunday. Partly because of that I'm intending to spend a portion of this afternoon, maybe the whole thing, at a friends place to watch Spider-Man DVDs. Before that I'll probably finish tagging my entries and will likely go back to the start and alter a number of them that I've decided to split up somewhat.
I watched nine hours of Farscape on Tuesday, and that was all after I got around to getting up and going out to pay my phone bill. That was the second half of the fourth season in a single day with no one else watching any significant portion of it with me. The cliff-hanger at the end was of course even worse than any of the prior seasons had so I'm now very much wanting to see "The PeaceKeeper Wars" which has just recently been released on DVD in Australia.
Much of the last three days I've spent at my PC with Database programs specifically designed for books, music, movies and games. What I've used of these programs from Collectorz.com has me yet again wishing I had surplus income beyond what I've ever had. Unfortunately the limits for the free samples of the Book and Movie databases are below what I have to add to such databases, however the game and CD limits aren't likely to be passed for quite some time so I can use those with impunity. Adding the information in has also led to me updating the makeshift databases I've been using for the past 10 years or so; now I know what is possible I regret settling for what I have been using. The completely free book database from SpaceJock would have been fine if I hadn't also decided to try out the collectorz program. Now it will have to do until I'm rich. I did end up motivated to tidy up a few things though so even though I'm annoyed that I won't be able to use what I want to I have still achieved something that was a long time coming.
Turns out there are problems where I have been working for much of the past year (it even got mentioned in the paper, not that I saw it but I was told). There has been redundancies for permanent staff and a reduction of the casual workers, so it isn't surprising I'm not getting a lot of work right now. I am however a "bloody good worker" according to the woman that I've had the most contact with so they don't want to lose me from the temp agency. Therefore I'm expecting that from next week I may end up getting offered work at a number of different locations around the city, hopefully not a different place every day so I have a chance to get used to where I am. |
