Okay, I made a banner for ljlayouts.org and spent 23942390 hours trying to make a layout for it. The fucker, I have another layout made for the site, but I've decided to hate it. Phill helped me with the color schemes since I couldn't make up my mind.

This is how I made the banner, using Paint Shop Pro 7 (CLASSIC :OOOO), well the different layers. So yeah, only rule is to not take the banner and tweak any of the steps to make a thing of your own. Just demonstrating the steps so you can start understanding it, or trying the same thing on your own stuff. XD Bah, I'm sure everyone knows the drill here. And would you look at that, I did the usual Rebecca thing and made a typo on it. Oh well.

Original Image

File > New > width: 559, height:258, background:transparent

Layer 1: 100% Normal
Fill - #C0C0C0

Layer 2: 82% Burn
beforehand- Resize the orginal image to 80% then place in layer.
Original Wolf Image

Duplicate Layer 2: 92% Burn
Original Wolf Image

Duplicate Layer 2 (second time): 49% Dodge
Original Wolf Image

Layer 4: 100% Difference
Fill - #0A3172

Layer 6: 85% Overlay
Text - Lainie Day - vector - 20pt - black - White or black, I depart beyond you
Text - Apple Garamond - vector- 20pt - black - with the hope to change destiny... (custom size)
Text - Apple Garamond - vector - 48pt - black - ljlayouts.org
Text - Japanese - vector - 24pt - black - ;

Layer 7: 100% Normal
Text - Courier New - vector - 6pt - black - although in the body the soul blazes
in the darkness the distance becomes infinite
Text - Courier New - vector - 6pt - black ljlayouts.org - verson boxed in

Final Product:

Also, I've downloaded all of Wolf's Rain OST 2 thanks to AnimeMP3s.org. Which I find them all nice and soothing. Need a new layout, need to finish layouts, need new icons which I will do right now. :O And yes, I've conformed to the recent trend of layers and different blend modes. It's nice, I need a trend to keep me sane so to speak..

I hate when I want to use an image and there
is something written over it. Its so hard to remove it >________

smudge tool is very useful for removing type, also very easy if you are zoomed into the individual pixel level. also clone tool works nicely for removing type, but you will usually need to smudge a little as well. of course if you do some nice painterly or grainy effects, it helps cover your tracks ;)

yes very nice banner i like the colors bold and unique. i am sooooo used to designing corporate bullshit, i find i am not very daring with colors... always stuck in the corporate blues and greys, and of course, usability comes first! well fuck that, im gonna start doing stuff that is more along the lines of what i like... ME!!! not corporate!!! i need my cable modem and my computer hooked up so i can put my biz site back up and start working again. i got a job offer, but its all for nothing if im gonna work on dial up on this laptop with 10.1.5 operating system.. 10.4 here i come! and all the 2004 software packages ... yup yup... yummy!

:\ Editing pixel by pixel is a pain in the ass. It takes too much time and by then I'm bored with it and want nothing to do with it anymore. XD

.__o; I hate the smudge too, it's too smudgy.. but I guess then if you lower the opacity on the smudgige then it's okay.....

:O Yes, you need colors, they're beautiful and refreshing especially from a monotone world like that. What laptop specs are you working with? I'm stuck with dialup. It's horrible, but managable.

ugh tell me about it... i worked for this one company for a long while and the cheap bastards refused to buy any digital photography, so i was stuck de-watermarking stuff ALL the time... ive gotten quite good at it actually... well the laptop im on now is my old powerbook g3... i also have an army issue ibm celeron but that doesnt even have any software on it right now. my g3 has all the bigguns, but, since i havent been working really for the last 2 years, i havent updated them.. so its dreamweaver 4, photoshop 6, illustrator 9, and flash mx. my desktop is an old p3 550, with the same generation software. at least that has windows xp professional on it. my mac is making me mad because all the cool software requires jaguar or higher for your operating system. i think my desktop also has psp on it, but im more of a photoslop girl, for better or worse. i have just encountered someone who is willing to give me some programs... um steal? me? no way... not from major corporations like adobe who have zillions of dollars and multi-corporate sponsorships!! i would nevah evah do that.... software piracy is WRONG WRONG I SAY!!!.... i think private developers should get the software for free though. i mean, its not like adobe actually ever gets a red cent from us anyway, so it would only make us insist upon our employers getting the product, and then shelling out the big bucks. but! i digress!!! ahh perhaps when i get my old desktop up and running again and i get my cable modem (both of which should occur in less than 3 weeks, yay!!) i will show you some of my more colorful works of art. yes art!!! albeit, slightly dated... ahh curses to the corporations and multinationals and government lackeys!!!! curses!!!

ah smudgy, smudgy, i sing your praises... i love you so... and clone, oh clone... how i adore you. blur tool, you are ok too... sharpen, why do you exist i hate you so pixely and fake.

;-; I'm sorry, I dont know which one it is. Try installing the japanese language pack in windows on the control panel. That's the best I can give you.
