This LJ is where I talk about my vids. This is one of the few places online where I share them. All vidding (or the fewer fic/art) related posts will remain open to everyone. As for the private stuff, it's now totally locked.

Feel free to friend this LJ for all my vidding updates. But if you want me to friend you back, please drop a comment here (they will be screened). I might not add everyone though. This is nothing personal, I'm trying to keep my friends list manageable. Thanks for your understanding.

Council Law

This journal is governed by The Evil Genius Council and does not conform to the normal rules of society, the internet, or the universe. Council Law is as follows.

Lemmings are dangerous beings. I strongly advise not to mess with them. We are totally insane BUT friendly and polite in most cases, but don't try to mistake us for random fools. If you go by the Evil Genius Council Law, you shall be safe all the way.

This video is the first installment of the "Beyond the Fight" trilogy. This one is season 4 only (I only had those clips when I did the vid in Germany in July) and it is a tribute to the woman of the show. It includes Kara, Roslin, Sharon, Six, Dualla, Deanna, Cally... Some couples are of course appearing : Kara/Anders, Adama/Roslin, Helo/Sharon, Tyrol/Cally, Lee/Dualla...

With my third vidding anniversary coming, I had planned this vid for a while, but thought the muse would remain on vacation. Yet, the beast returns because so_out_of_ideas made me the surprise of doing an awsome Obidala vid as an anniversary present that triggered the vegas mood again. Thank you sweetie!!! *hugs*

So, this video was made for my third vidding anniversary (August 24, 2008). I went back to basics, and used the song "Les nuits sans soleil" (by Ivanov) that I did for my first ever video (that was a John/Aeryn at that time). This song is a French one, a forgotten 80's hit, one of my all time favouite songs, that I spent 10 years of my life finding back... You can find the English translation on the video page.

As for the vid itself, it is a Han/Leia tribute from Han's POV about all he does for Leia and how she changed his life. This is the main topic of "I will know" but there is a secondary one, that wasn't planned. It is also speaking about Leia being Vader's daughter, which I might blame on Lionchilde's great fanfiction "Vader's Daughter", but it works too well for me to blame anyone.

Since Vividcon took place last weekend, I can finally share the vid I made for fwolfling who won me as the vidding auction for the event.

This is a character study for Alec, on the song "Capricorn (A Brand New Name)" by 30 Seconds to Mars.

This vid focuses on the character of Alec in season 2 and how he tries to find his way in his new life out of Manticore. He is a player, a fighter, but also a friend and once a lover. He has to live with his past and see how he can build his future, with also the help of his friends, Max and also Joshua.

In July, I started working on a new BSG vid, that was an ensemble piece for season 4, this vid turned out so greatly that it inspired me to make others of this kind. Two days later, I was working on a piece for a women of BSG tribute. After this, I decided that it would be nice to make a trilogy and add a vid dedicated to the guys of this incredible show.

This is how the idea of the "Beyond the Fight" project came to life. Once I had all the pieces, I thought it would be nice to release them in the order I saw in them. So, I made a short trailer to present this trilogy, that was also the place for some editing experimentations for me.

Time for a new vid update! I decided to posted two vids, here is the first one.This is an episode vid for the season 1 episode "Pollo Locco" that was done during summer 2007. This is focusing mostly on the relationship between Ben and Max, and the question of their identity with the Manticore upbringing they had. The vid also features Logan and Lydeceker.

This vid also features some of my visual experiments, when it comes to beats. I didn't do it again, but I still think it worked quite well for this vid. The music is one of my (many) favourite Nightwish song : "End of all hope".

*waves* I have been rendering MPEG versions of my vids for more than a year now, but I only started to play around with settings lately. I would be curious to know which settings you would recommend for the best quality of MPEG rendering in Vegas. I don't mind giant files, I have room for this. Thanks by advance for your answers!

When deprived from vidding, a Lemming shall make Photoshop fry until the software begs for mercy and that she gets tired of jumping on it to make it live longer. Since I had to make bigger graphics first to make the sidebar pretties, I kept the textless versions of all of them, and here are the text variations I made in the end.

All quotes are from Jason (squeeee *thud*) Manns's song Crazy Love. The only exception is the Luke/Mara one that features a line from James Blunt's song Tears and Rain.

A while ago, sabaceanbabe had the shiny idea to make a group vid for Kara/Anders on Daughtry's song What about now. This song had been my first ever idea of vid for those two. I told her that I might then withdraw from doing it, but she made me do it and post it along with hers. Since I had all the ideas of look and structure it was easily done. So, here is the result.

This vid focuses about Anders always willing to make things work with Kara and accepting her how she is, no matter what she goes through. It is built season by season, in a mostly chronological order, which I dont often do, but this also worked well with my textures ideas. SEASON 4 SPOILERS!

Yes, I know that I keep having problems those days... *bangs head* I wanted to rip some stuff on my laptop (the windows one) and then vid. So, I installed both VirtualDubMod (Shrink was already there) and my codec Windows Media Series 9 (WMV VCM 9) to compress the same way as usual and being able to play my clips in vegas. Both install perfectly. But my needed codec does NOT show up in the codec list offered by VD in the "compression" window. I would really really appreciate if someone had an idea of where it comes from. And yes, this computer is perfectly healthy. Thank you very much by advance!

First, I would like to thank all the persons having answered to my scream for help post. It was really appreciated. Thanks to all of this, I brainstormed and then I had the idea to check HP site for a possible way/software to wipe out computer drive. And there, I found out about the possibility of ordering recovery official cds for the model of computer I had. This is what I did. It should arrive while I'm away for a while, but should be able to fix my computer end of July when I get back. Thank you very much again!

One of my computer got a trojan horse today. I was able to save all data from it, and all my external have been scanned on an other computer and came perfectly clean. This computer is a HP desktop pc, running under XP (don't have the exact version in mind). It is not connected to internet for various reasons.

I tried a few spyware to try to scan and fix the computer : AVG Anti Virus, Lavasoft, Viruskeeper 2008 and AntiVir.

AVG Anti Virus found 2 Trojan horses that it claimed having been removed after scan. Then I rebooted, as soon as I try to access anything (my documents or so) I have an alert window telling me that my computer has a trojan horse and that I must do something. So I ran scans again, and it found nothing.

Then, I installed and ran Lavasoft. It found the same 2 trojan horses and asked me if I wanted them removed. I said "yes". It kept working, and at the end it told me that the analysis found no threads and so had nothing to do. *bangs head* but I kept having the trojann horses alerts next time I rebooted.

I then installed and ran the two other softwares. One found nothing (Viruskeeper) and the other one found 3 things but didn't mention what and did nothing about them.

So, I'm stuck. I mean I can now blow up the whole drive, I don't care, I have everything safe on external, so I don't have data to recover. And all my softwares can be re-installed. I have them. But my problem is, that I'd be up to re-format my drive, but I can't find back the installation windows cd. I looked everywhere. Even in impossible places. Yes, bad luck. I know.

So I wanted to know if anyone had a brilliant idea that could be of any help to me, except buying a new copy of Windows XP and a new internal drive and throw the other one to hell.

I've been on BSG vidding rampage for a while now, and it's far from being done. This is the last one I've finished. I've wanted to make a Season 4 video for a while, but was lacking the good song. And a while ago, I was browsing through my music and found back one of my favourite Sheryl Crow's songs : Redemption Day. Then, I knew I had the perfect song for what I wanted to do, especially after having seen Revelations.

This video is heavily season 4 centric, though clips from earlier are also used. This is a vid focusing on how the line between humans and cylons is getting thinner as time goes by. All of them are seeking redemption, in one way or the other, even sometimes unconsciously, for all the things they have done since the war had started. Time has come for change, and both humans and cylons are concerned.

On a side note, I would say that this song speaks very much about spirituality to me, and I think that it also fits the various religious beliefs that appear in BSG, and this also adds to the blurring of the lines between humans and Cylons.

My Lost hadn't showed up since mid 2006, but two months ago, the beast came back. And geez, she hit hard (especially my hormones LOL). So, I had to make a new Kate/Sawyer video. Since I still only have season 1 cut on my computer (though I saw until season 3 so far in France), this is a season 1 vid only.

It's a funny and action tribute with all the teasing and playing that happen between them. It's from Kate's POV about how she likes Sawyer (in all ways *g*) but also how she feels like smacking him (which she actually does well) when Sawyer gets on her nerves.

Music is Sin Wagon by The Dixie Chicks. *purrs at Sawyer* The song was kind of begging for it, and I didn't vid it before. Kate/Sawyer seemed the perfect subject.

This is not a really new video. It's actually two years old, but been in my vidding nest for all the time. I actually started this video before my computer at that time died on me. And I had to redo this short vid (1:38) from scratch with brand new computer (it's still my vidding main one actually *hugs computer*).

It was an early experimentation mixing colouring, sound edit and new transition. This is a Shikozu centric vid (my one and only so far), actually it should be a Crichton Kicks episodic too.
