Do not want: not having internets, doing homnework, worrying about graduation

Do want: internets, seeing Batman, having furniture

:(

I MISS YOU GUYS. SPAM ME SO I HAVE LOTS OF THINGS TO LOOK AT/READ WHEN I GET BACK ON.

GOING INTO INTERNETS WITHDRAWLS ;_;

Fangirl Night Out last night: me, Eryn, [info]inmyriadbits, [info]clare_san, [info]thousandjulys, and [info]sunn_doyouknow.

Went out to Side Bar for drinking, then to the home of Asshole Drummer Mason Musso. XD Where we discovered that his iTunes included not only Metro Station, but THE CAB.

ADMM: Hell yeah! Put on "Risky Business"! *sings along*
Eryn: Oh god we are DONE
Everyone else: lolololololol *awkward*

Still No Internets. Send moar booze.
Bad: Not having the necessary parts to run your stove, and having a leaky bathroom with water damage on the wall.

Good: Having a maintenece guy who shows up pretty promptly after your request and fixes EVERYTHING.

Embarassing: When letting the maintenece guy in, having to wake up and crawl off of the air mattress you are sharing with your room mate on the living room floor.

Moving Day!
It's moving day! My shit is pretty much packed. I have to go to class, then afterward I'm loading up my car and we're moving the essentials.

The funny thing is, the essentials don't include furniture. XD We have no way to move Eryn's furniture, and I don't even have a bed. Oh yes, we are classy ladies.

Classy ladies without internets probably, so expect me to be on sporadically for a while!

Yesterday was my last day at work!

Today was going to be 100% packing and then tomorrow was going to be cleaning for my parents to get back, but they decided to call this morning and say they'll be home tonight. So, suck it, your house is gonna be dirty. lol

Boxes are hard to find. :/ And I own waaay too many books. (or not enough. idk. BOOKS.)

I might trufax be buying us this sofa. Oh god it's so hideous, it looks like Ryan Ross' closet exploded on it or something. You know you can't wait to possibly sleep on that. "Re-upholstered in beautiful floral print several years ago." and by "several" they mean "1970" and by "beautiful" they mean "inspired by Little Shop of Horrors".

Chicken curry I missed you so much never leave me

Okay, so flisters who like punk/rock, particularly flisters who like girls who can rock? Should check out TAT right now.

After The Academy Is... at Warped me, Sunny, and Clare were walking to get water and happened to pass the stage these guys were on, and Clare and I totally got sucked in off the path. Even though we only caught the end of one song ("Champagne, Cocaine, and Strawberries"), I was pretty impressed and surprised they hadn't drawn a better crowd. But I think it's hard for UK bands to really get attention over here.

Anyway, TAT. Yeah. I think later I'll upload some other stuff I'm listening to lately.

With my parents out of town I have seriously cooked a lot. Homemade hamburger helper one day (mac and cheese with ground beef lol), chicken enchiladas last night with homemade guacamole, and currently baking banana bread with plans to make curry.

My parents are gonna come home and be like WHY DID YOU NEVER COOK FOR US?? and I will have to explain, again, that I prefer to do my cooking without my mom hovering over my shoulder going UR DOIN IT WRONG. Seeing as everything I make turns out fine without her there, I'm pretty sure I am not.

The automatic locks on my car broke yesterday. Actually, 3/4 of them did. The passenger side works fine. This is funny because up until now I have been telling people my car had a stroke because the passenger side has
1) a hole in it from how I got it
2) scratches from the time I scraped a pole at The Ridge
3) broken liner that makes the door hard to open
4) and actually once it's open it doesn't STAY open
5) a window that doesn't roll down

And the other half of the car has always been fine. And now something on my half of the car is broken! That actually makes me feel BETTER somehow.

Waaaaarped
Well, Josh was awesome enough to let me off work an hour early yesterday when I told him The Academy Is... was going on at 2.

I got to the amphitheater pretty much just in time, but went to the wrong stage, assuming the main stage would be the actual stage on the grounds, not just one they had constructed. Accidentally caught the end of The Higher's set in the process. They covered "Bye Bye Bye". o_o

I had to ask a couple dudes for directions, but eventually I found TAI's stage and they'd only been playin about 10 or 15 minutes. Since they won the extra 10 minutes of play time yesterday, it all evened out.

Even though I got there late, I went over to the far left and managed to sneak in pretty close. Ngh, William Beckett is gorgeous. No one is surprised! And I did enjoy the new stuff they played, as well as getting to hear "Classifieds" and "Phrase That Pays" and such... although if they played "Black Mamba" I missed it and am sad. ;_;

Took the tactic of standing still and waiting and, sure enough, managed to catch [info]sunn_doyouknow and [info]clare_san coming off the barrier. Clare and I went off to find her some free water, then went back to the main stage again to see Reel Big Fish, which was pretty much awesome. :D

Afterwards, I wanted to go check out merch because I'd heard there might be "Kiss My Sass" booty shorts. Little did I know that when we wandered over to the merch booth (finding Sunny and [info]shutyourface Lesa in the process) I would instead find actual Cobras there. *_*

So I stood there and creeped for a bit. Eventually, we wandered on and I totally bought something from the Clandestine booth. :/ And I bought this shirt. Bwahahahaha!

Went to a smaller stage to see Mayday Parade. I knew nothing about them, but they were actually quite fun. Plus, it started to rain during their set. It was awesome.

So then it was around 5 PM and Paramore was supposed to be playing. After them the same stage was going to be Gym Class Heroes so we figured, what the hell, we'll go see Paramore and get a good spot for GCH, right?

So Clare and I are standing in the crowd when it gets close to set time for Paramore and suddenly the crowd surges and we are like... shoved and crushed and possibly almost trampled. And we're like, really? We do not care about Paramore this much.

So instead we went to a tiiiiny stage and saw Charlotte Sometimes. :D She was quite good and adorable and generally fairly awesome. \o/

And then Gym Class! They were bad-fuckin'-ass. TRAVIE ♥__♥ They played a good bit of older stuff as well as the two new songs. I really enjoyed "Peace Sign". And Travie apparently has family in San Antonio! He brought his wee niece and nephew out on stage when he was talking about how he got clean and such. It was adorable.

And after that it was going to be about another hour before Cobras started on the other main stage, so I went ahead and walked that way. I figured I could use the other bands' set times to get a spot closer. As a result, I had to stand through Angels and Airwaves, which... no thnx. But I did get closer. We wound up one person from the barrier on Ryland's side.

Since Suarez was off seeing his daddy get remarried, we got sub bassists! Sisky Business, then The Butcher, then Eric-the-hot-bassist from GCH. Gabe gave them soooo much shit, it was hilarious. Also, I will never forget this: Gabe said "I was lurking the internet..." and then went into a story about how people online think Eric is the hottest guy on Warped, and Gabe agreed.

And then my liiiiiife omg they did "Bring It" with Travie and Beckett and ♥ ♥ ♥ It was as perfect as I had imagined. ilu, boys.

And then they finished out with "Guilty Pleasure" and Gabe sang the beginning in Spanish and I danced like a foooool. Which reminds me: wtf people who wear the band's merch and go to the effort of getting barrier only to stand there. Especially with a band like Cobra Starship that tells you to dance, throw your fangs up, etc.

I am totally that kid who gets super into the music, btw. Even when it's a band I'm not particularly into, I at least bob along. Given a good band and/or a frontman who will give me instructions, I will dance/bounce/scream my ass off, even if I'm a hundred yards away on the lawn at a stadium show, I will still be the kid dancing and singing along. That's the best part of the show for me, just totally fucking losing it.

Anyway, here's what you're really here for! Pics and a video! )

FUN! WOULD GO AGAIN.

I'm tired, sore, formerly disgusting, and slightly sunburned.

I own a shirt that says "Make love, not Wentz". It's disturbingly comfortable. And comfortably disturbing. It also cost slightly less than two beers.

I wanna go baaaack! :(

Parents are in Amarillo already, and I can't be sussed to clean off my bed, so I'm gonna sleep on the couch or their bed or something.

Pics tomorrow, except this one because *_*

Road Trip songs needed!
So my parents are off road trippin' to Las Vegas in a couple days. They'll be gone the 5th - 14th, and I want to make them a little mix CD to take along with them, but I need suggestions!

What are your favorite road trip songs?

My parents prefer stuff with more of an oldies/classic rock vibe, but I like forcing new stuff on them, so toss out what you can. :D Preferably with uploads.

Also, I need a copy of "Viva Las Vegas", preferably the ZZ Top version instead of Elvis if anyone has it. And maybe other songs about Vegas! (Sorry, Bandom Crew, "Vegas Skies" doesn't count. I haven't forced The Cab on my mom enough for that yet.)

80 ON MY ALGEBRA TEST!!!

At this point if I didn't show up for the final? I'd still have a D. I only have to make a 30 to get a C, or a 66 for a B.

How crazy would that be? Flunk it twice and then get a goddamn B.

Taking Cultural Anthropology next month and then...

Got boxes today to start packing unnecessary things like movies and books. \o/

Am officially done at GameStop. I put in my 2 weeks last time I was in and Danny said he'd come see me at Thundercloud to get my hours. He never did, so I figured I wasn't on schedule since payroll closes on Saturdays. Sure enough, I had a facebook message from Tif this morning saying I wasn't on the schedule for this week and she'd heard it was my last. XD It's not my last week if I'm not working it!

Anyway, it's nice to be done with that, especially since I was there a whole year.

I want to buy my ticket to Warped finally, but I work that morning, so I need to know what time Cobra, TAI, and Gym Class are probably playing. Because I won't be able to get there till like... 3:30 or 4.

I'm so ready to move. ;_; I keep seeing so many people I know from HS and with a couple exceptions it's no one I want to see. Because the people I run into in NB are the people who never left because they didn't go to school or got knocked up, and now they're working at fucking HEB and getting married at 20.

In Which I Attempt to Fit In
So today I tried to tan.

No, seriously, I willingly stripped down, put on a bikini, and lay in my back yard on a towel. I did this because standing in line for 58534835 shows in May resulted in my arms being noticeably (at least to me) darker than the rest of my pasty self. And while I'm not fond of the "tanning" concept, I'm less fond of the "accidental farmer's tan" concept.

Having had this experience at last, I have a thought on it:

It is torture. Why does anyone willingly participate in this activity?

Laying on my stomach was tolerable, sweating aside, because I could read my book (An Abundance of Katherines by John Green) and that was pleasantly distracting. And also laying on my stomach is cozy.

Moving to my back, however, was like the worst idea I have ever had ever. Because I cannot read a book on my back, because I cannot keep my eyes open while facing the sky. This is maybe a just-me sort of problem, because I have blue eyes and they are very very light-sensitive, so staring at anything remotely light source-y tends to be incredibly painful, but still.

Also there was the issue that I had no clue how long I needed to be out in order to actually change colors. (Answer: more than I was out there for, meaning my torture was for naught)

But so I did 15 minutes on my stomach, then 15 on my back, then 10 on my stomach, then I got about 3 minutes into a round of ten on my back when I found myself trying very very hard to concentrate on my iPod in order to stick out the next 6 minutes and I realized "Fuck it, part of being smart is knowing that if something hurts you shouldn't be doing it."

And then I came inside and got back on the internet and read some more book.

Last night was drinking with Eryn and Scarlett and Lindsey. Several other people were there in spirit! Drinking from which I got home at 4:30 AM. And then got up to come to school at 8 AM.

XD I was totally slightly hung over when I first got up, but I've got it managed by now. I went to the campus convenience store and bought a tiiiiiny coke. Nom nom nom. Trying to decide if I want coffee or if I want to try to sleep on the way to Houston.

Yeah, Houston because tonight we are going to see LUDO. ♥ Me and Eryn and Scarlett and [info]eckerlilas and possibly [info]thousandjulys, [info]txtequilanights, and [info]playfullips. Texas Crew loves Ludo, trufax. This is because Ludo is made of adorable dorks.

I'm trying to remember what we rocked out to in the car last night. "Welcome to the Black Parade" for sure. It was hott. Yeah, two T's. There are a couple pictures on my camera, as well as one on Eryn's from the car. ("Katie, oh shit that truck says GSF!")

So yeah. Ludo. Drinking. More drinking tonight probably. Hopefully getting Ludo to sign my CD. \o/
