The Land of Opportunity

John Kerry went on Regis's show and told the host and the audience one fantastic story: a woman in New York gave him $385 that her 8-year-old son had raised selling homemade campaign buttons, and a 6-year-old in Philadelphia handed over a plastic container with $685 he had earned selling homemade campaign bracelets.

Now, I do not care much that laws prohibit minors from making political contributions and that making donations in cash is also illegal. I would not be surprised if Kerry himself co-sponsored the laws that he violated - seems like it is just what he does. I also am not surprised that he bragged about it - he is the same John Kerry who bragged about committing war crimes. The interesting part is not how badly Kerry knows the laws or how routinely he violates them or how proudly he confesses.

Interesting is his testimony to the state of our economy! Now, when a 6-year-old can easily make 700 dollars selling homemade bracelets, and this money are just as easily given away by the boy and the family - wow! Is there any country, any economy - now or ever, that can compete with that? We are the fucking Land of Opportunity and Prosperity - and anyone who claims otherwise has just never talked to ordinary people.

This statement is about as correct as the rest of the story. Where did you get this b.s.?
