Ironman.

Just watched Ironman and while the build-up and maturation of the suit was pretty incredible and of course, very cool along with the soundtrack, I preferred The Dark Knight. Tony Stark just wasn't as charismatic as Bruce Wayne and I admire a hero who built himself to be a superhero rather than just the tools. Batman had all the intellect and tools as Stark, but Bruce also trained his body while Stark relied on JARVIS. The agent from SHIELD and the Commissioner are my favorites from their respective movies, however. Minor, but awesome characters will always come first in my fangirl heart.

Now, all I want is a movie where The Batman, Superman, Spiderman, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, the Hulk, and John Constantine to appear. The Hulk not so much and I DON'T want Hellboy in there. It would be... AWESOME.

Hey, a girl can always dream, can't she? ^_______________^

On another note, redheads are starting to REALLY irritate me. Pepper Potts, Mary Jane, Poison Ivy, Barbara Gordon, Lily Potter... I bet there will be more. xp

I have named my new phone!

Remember that Sony Ericsson I was so glad to get? Instead of the Urban Gray one with blue buttons that I had initially desired, I got the black and orange one due to necessity (I was returning to my apartment the day the order actually went out to AT&T and the black was the only one in the store).

Black and orange automatically brings to mind Halloween, right? So I now own Sam, full name Samhain. XD It was going to be Eve, for All Hallow's Eve, but I was too lazy to press all the button.

DIE!

DISBANDED!

First it was Evil-Empire, then Hochuuami, now it's Forever More and Doki Doki? O.O Yaoi-fans, DESPAIR!!! Perhaps the only good news in this area is that Nakamanga is now back up and slowly being updated, link-wise.

Got my new Konishi glasses. They're the first rectangular glasses I've ever worn and the lack of peripheral vision bugs me. It'll be another year I can get another pair, but oh well--they're pretty. *is superficial*

[info]snahjerblah's watching Disney's Hercules and a bunny hopped by... Imagine, Pegasus gets turned human by Aphrodite! Oh, and she and I made homemade sushi today! The shrimp and avocado rolls were good, but they could have used some cucumber.

Also, My dad and [info]darkestnight12 came up yesterday and we ended up gossiping about family and talking POLITICS! o.O

Freedom=Nascar? .... WTF?

After reading [info]copperwise's recent rant about Palin's complete lack of social awareness (or any type of awareness in general--after all that talk about Alaska not being the middle of nowhere, Palin does a pretty poor job of showing proof of it otherwise in her words -_-;), when she wrote, "JSP literally means 'the blue collar guy who picks up a six pack of cheap beer every night after work and goes home to watch Nascar (and probably beat his wife/kids and light a cross on the black neighbor's lawn but we won't say anything about that wink wink nudge nudge).'"

It reminds me of a National Guard commercial I saw when I watched The Dark Knight in theater. Kid Rock played an appropriately patriotic song about freedom and liberty while scenes of brave, American soldiers patrol, train, and retrieve the soccer balls of neighborhood, foreign children (Hey, we might have big, black machine guns, but we're not here to kill anyone!). It was suitably impressive and inspiring, when all of a sudden, Kid Rock wails, "Freeeeeedooooommmmm!" and BAM! Nascar race cars race across the screen. [info]darkestnight12 and I were shocked silent from out praise of the previous scenes. What on Earth does racing a machine have ANYTHING to do with freedom? Or the National Guard? Did one sponsor the other or something?

Wow... I'm getting dragged into politics despite my will--one thing to thank the absolute impossibility of Palin for I guess! XDDD

Torchwood, Season 1, Episode 1

Out of curiosity, I youtubed Torchwood season 1, episode 1 since I've read many janto fic, but could never understand why there's so much bad!fic out there when it should be a show for sci-fi geeks and most sci-fi geeks are pretty good writers.

Saw Everything Changes and completely understood. The ENTIRE episode centered around the most annoying PC Gwen Cooper! What a pitiful example of a cop. I was in love with Ianto the few times he appeared, but with a pilot episode like that, most fic writers would be het and most slash ones would be new and therefore bad. Also, when Suzie kills herself, wouldn't the bullet have shattered her jaw and most her face? Plus, where was the exit wound? Owne looks like some sort of long-dead scavanger animal--ugly in a pretty disturbing way. His features are like a snake's and wouldn't have looked out of place amongst some Death Eaters.

Can any rec and good Ianto-centric episodes? Besides the one about Lisa? If anyone reads this, that is. If I don't get any responses, to the comm I go!

Actual books I want.

Not just fanfiction--published stuff! All m/m of course. *g*

Josh Lanyon's Adrien English omnibus. LooseID. Argh! Read the "After Series" interview Lanyon had with the main characters and it was so depressing, I'm striking this. T_T I'm a romantic at heart and while the ending wasn't the typical "happily ever after", I WANT that type of ending in anything I'm actually paying money for. T^T

Er... Nightrunner. Who wrote it? Trilogy. Fantasy.

Kirby Crow's Scarlett and the White Wolf. Trilogy, only as eBook. Fantasy. Hee, blonde top, brunette bottom? Maybe? <3

Elisa Viperas's Dark Lord Seeks Friendship, Maybe More. Torn because, who does he end up with? I'm hoping for the cliche answer--it's the adviser. But, only one novel! Ugly cover art b/c only offered as eBook ($4).

Jet Mykles's Heaven Sent Just Heaven and Purgatory, though. Art by PL Nunn! >.< ($12.82 print omnibus) Excerpts match the title. Maybe Faith from the series as well.

Emily Veinglory's The Wicca Man: Tongue-Tied Only first in series. ebook only. HOT excerpt.

Prolific authors who CAN'T bloody write shouldn't be prolific

Prolific authors who CAN'T bloody write shouldn't be prolific. I keep on seeing these two names on my flist who can't write very well, but post in communities and post so often it just clutters my flist! Anyone know of a way I can specifically block people, whether they be in communities or not?

*headdesk* Why do they persist in posting crap examples of their work? Can they not tell, from reading well written examples, that their fiction could use vast improvement? I would be ashamed to have people read anything not written well! What's worse is that no one calls them up on it; just heaps and heaps on the praise, so of course they won't try to improve their writing! And when I comment with suggestions I feel like the harbinger of DOOM. Though it is funny because those great comments? Also poorly written. XDDD

I'm cranky because my Design 1 class has an annoying professor. I wish D.R., the original professor, was teaching it because while I've heard horror stories of his grading, this one? Wasted half the class time today with some pretty stupid activities. I learned NOTHING in the two hours of class. His name is Housefield, which took me approximately three minutes to remember, but he took ten minutes in class to use images and clever words to "help". *facepalm* Why, oh why, am I stuck in these freshmen classes this quarter? I sincerely hope that the seminar and DES 1 were terrible only because they were the first days and nothing really ever happens on the first day. But thank god for ENL 135 and my Spanish class.

Heh, about the frosh seminar, the teacher said we could bring our laptops. I think I will, but will I be prevented from typing if she's lecturing on stuff I already know? ^___________________^ <---evil grin Maybe if I move into the hallway so I can hear her, but the clicking of the keys won't distract too much?

Also, just googled my name, and its numerology is "If it wasn't bulls**t, it would mean that you are motivated by material success and have an aptitude for business, managerial and financial matters. This comes through your uncommon discipline and persistence." And, get this: my name's pretty uncommon. The site estimates that 25 out of approx 300 million Americans might have my name (first AND last).

My IQ, srsly?

So after reading much fic featuring (fictional) geniuses (Bruce Wayne, Rodney Mckay), I caved and took an IQ test. Question is, is this site valid or not? It made me go through 6 pages of ads before I could even see this. It also seems remarkably high when I remember that [info]snahjerblah took one not too long ago on facebook and got a 137. She's a biomed engineer and I'm majoring in the humanities. Consider also the fact that Einstein's IQ was 160, and I'm very doubtful of this:
Online IQ Test
Free-IQTest.net - Online IQ Test

Then again, I'd taken ANOTHER one before, which took me to a page that made it appear that I would need to pay before I could see the score, but checking my e-mail, it appears that I have an IQ of 130, according to iqtest.com.

Is it just me, or am I particularly sad that I'm taking these things? ^^;

Also, I returned to McD's after two or so months of hiatus for summer school and they had Madame Alexander Wizard of Oz dolls for girl children! The wicked witch looked so awesome, I snuck three out (moi, [info]snahjerblah, [info]darkestnight12). After some extensive digging through many Tin Man and The Lion dolls, I found ONE Wizard of Oz. Wasn't he supposed to be a wizened old man? The doll bearing his label was the most adorable looking blond boy with a top hat, a cape, and painted on, fair, curling hair that I have since dubbed "Draco Malfoy". Boy children get plastic Lego characters from Batman. The theme was awesome; the products I saw--not so much.

It was great, [info]snahjerblah came by at around 7 or 8 to pick up the doll and then vamoosed back to her boyfriend's place. XD
