Coach Eric Taylor, Tami/Eric, Tami Taylor
Title: Right On Time
Author: [info]angel_grace
Character/Pairing: Jason/Tyra
Rating: PG
Word Count: 892
Spoilers: None
Disclaimer: If they were mine, Lyla would be long gone and Street would have a lot more to do. But they're not, so I'll have to be content with playing with them.
Summary: When it comes to Jason, Tyra keeps track of certain things. Rather schmoopy.
Author's Note: After seeing a promo for season 3, FNL has pretty much eaten my brain. I've always loved the possibility of Jason/Tyra, and actually have started two other fics besides this one. We'll see how those go.

U2
I am beyond pleased with this year's winner. Despite my apathy for most of the contestants, this might be the most invested I have ever been in a contestant through all seven seasons. It's a little...sad. But dude, he sang U2. What's not to love?

Looking forward to the Ugly Betty finale tonight...Betty/Gio for the win, please!

Finally, someone needs to tell the weather gods that it's time for Chicago to get up past 62 degrees on a regular basis. Eesh. It was a wretched winter, and it's been a mostly miserable spring. Summer, please! Of course, watch it go straight to 90 and humid, and then I can bitch about that.

Finale fever

Seeley Booth, Bones, David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel, Temperance Brennan
*sigh* So I realize that everyone is pretty much OMGWTFBBQ about the Bones finale, but I gotta say...I'm surprisingly okay with it. Even more, I sorta saw it coming months ago. It's really all about Booth and Brennan )

In other news, I absolutely loved the Gossip Girl finale. Shut up, Serena )

Also watched the OTH finale... 1) Shut up, Peyton. 2) Shut up, Lucas. 3) I vote Brooke/Dr. Hottie. 4) Haley-Nathan-Jamie-Quentin for the effing WIN. Love them. That is all Oh! Except that the thing with Dan was AWESOME and the ending with Lucas was 27 kinds of lame.
Chuck/Nate
Gossip Girl and Greek and Bones, oh my. (Oh, and HIMYM too!) Monday night television is officially overwhelming.

That said, I got bored today, and decided to write a bit of fic, since I'm stalled on the Sam Winchester/Veronica story I'm working on. I wanted to write Dan/Blair, but somehow ended up writing Chuck/Blair instead. Whatever.

Title: "Not Quite Peace, Love, and Understanding"
Author: [info]angel_grace
Pairing: Chuck/Blair
Rating: mild R, for a bit of language and some sexual situations
Disclaimer: Gossip Girl isn't mine; just playing for fun and no profit.
Spoilers: Through 1.17, "Woman on the Verge"
Summary: Blair and Chuck, together again. The back of a limo. Banter. Anger. What could it possibly lead to?

Oh, Ugly Betty, thank you so much for an episode that didn't make me cringe. After the awful Henry-Charlie nonsense, Wili's over-the-top manipulation of a person's mental health (a personal hot-button issue for me), and the prolonged separation of Marc and Amanda, there was quite a bit about the second half of the season that I haven't really enjoyed. However, I finally watched this week's episode, and on the whole I really, really enjoyed it. Gio for the win )

MTV is marathoning the last season of SYTYCD. I love this show beyond reason. Can't wait for the new season!

Technology YAY

David Krumholtz, Numb3rs
So I've finally caught up with the rest of the world, and bought myself a laptop. My desktop was purchased in 2001, and is not only outdated, but practically full and therefore very, very slow. Of course, this also meant that I needed to buy a wireless router and get a network set up, since what's the point of a laptop if you're stuck in one place? Actually getting it set up was a bit more challenging than I felt it should have been, but it's all good now.

Because, you know, I didn't spend enough time on the computer *already*.

In other news, I watched the season finale of Numb3rs last night, and...meh. It certainly didn't pack the same punch that "The Janus List" did last year. Oh, Charlie )

Also watched the season finale of CSI, but I was trying to set up the wireless router at the same time, and I think I missed a lot of the details. That said, however, Oh, Warrick )

I'm not dead. Just lazy.

Have been playing catch-up on various TV shows, which I am, again, too lazy to detail here.

I did, however, see Iron Man opening weekend, and loved it beyond reason. See icon.

Also watched tonight's Gossip Girl, and although the show is by no means perfect, there were many, many parts that I absolutely loved. I'm Chuck Bass. )

Holy crap. Tonight's episode of HIMYM was legen... wait for it... DARY! I'm not even going to post spoilery thoughts behind a tag, because it's so awesome that I don't want those with no willpower to click and ruin it for themselves. If you haven't seen it, I suggest hunting it down ASAP.

NPH is made of win. That is all.

The O.C., Ben McKenzie, Ryan
Tagged by [info]monimala... This was actually more difficult than I thought it would be--perhaps I'm too picky even when it comes to fictional characters?

List ten fictional characters you wouldn't kick out of bed (in no particular order) and tag five people to do the same.

1. Captain Mal "Tightpants" Reynolds
2. Bright Abbott
3. Special Agent Seeley Booth
4. Bond, James Bond (the Daniel Craig incarnation)
5. Julian Sark
6. Ryan Atwood
7. Sam Winchester
8. Alex Karev
9. Bruce Wayne (the Christian Bale incarnation)
10. Indiana Jones (the Harrison Ford/River Phoenix/Sean Patrick Flanery incarnations)

I'm not much for tagging people, so anyone feel so inclined, join the fun!

Okay, I get that OTH really wants me to root for Lucas and Peyton as a couple, but mostly they just make me want to vomit on my television. That said... there were a couple okay points tonight )

On writing

Gilmore Girls, Trory, Tristan, Rory
In a previous post, I made of the mention of the fact that perhaps watching CMM on OTH would inspire me to finally remember some of my Tristan-love and finish off "Unholy Alliance." Rather to my surprise, this was met with rousing approval by more than one person.

So...I went back and read the last few chapters, just to see where I had left off. And I noticed quite a few typos, which then inspired me to go back and print out ALL of the chapters, reread, and try to find the mistakes so I can correct them on my website.

Dude. It's over 80,000 words long. And it's not even finished. That's practically book-length. And sure, some of it is crap, but even after all these years, there are parts that I genuinely like. So why the hell can't I ever find inspiration to write 80,000+ words of "real" fiction?

Okay, so I'd have to come up with my own characters. And provide backstories for them. But is that really such a terrible thing? At least then I'd be less likely to be "out of character"? :) *sigh* I know that a big part of it is discipline. I don't make the effort to write. And I don't know how to find the motivation to start. NaNo doesn't do it...so what will? Gah.

Head hanging in shame

Okay, I have a confession. After a hiatus of three or so years, and a strong belief that the show pretty much sucks, I...I watched the two-hour season premiere of One Tree Hill last week. Damn you, writers' strike! What have you wrought?

So here's the thing...I, um, didn't totally hate it. And *gulp* I'll probably keep watching, at least until something better comes along. Sure, it's totally unrealistic. And yes, Lucas pretty much needs to be slapped upside the head every 7.3 seconds or so. But I'm basically going to be watching for one reason, and that reason is spoilery )

Also went to see a sneak preview of 27 Dresses this afternoon, and I really liked it. Was it predictable? Yes. Was it fluffy? Yes. Was it a bit cheesy? Sure, but I went to college in Wisconsin, so me and cheese? Likethis. Katherine Heigl made me remember that it's Izzie I loathe, not KH herself. And James Marsden seriously needs to be the new go-to guy for romantic comedy leads. Seriously. He should have every role Matthew McConaughey has ever smarmed his way through. (And I like Matthew McConaughey. Or I did. Back in his A Time to Kill days. Which was, um, 12 years ago.) Plus JM has the prettiest blue eyes I've seen since...Chris O'Donnell back in, like 1993. Hee.

Shut up, Lorelai

  • Jan. 7th, 2008 at 4:50 PM
Proud & Prejudiced
Randomly, am watching "Teach Me Tonight" on ABC Family right now, and holy crap, as much of a twerp as Jess often was, Lorelai was pretty much all about the self-righteous judgmental bitchiness in this episode, wasn't she? Come to think of it, Lor spent a lot of time with her mouth set to "condescending, snide, and holier than thou." Guess she's her mother's daughter after all.

Guess that's why I stopped caring about the show and who Lorelai was actually dating, since I didn't think she was really worthy of any of them.

(I realize this will probably be an unpopular opinion, since I think it's only cool to rag on Rory, but enh. I don't much care. Besides, no one reads this anyway.)

P.S. I still love Christopher, dammit.
Veronica/Lamb
Last one! I can't quite decide if I'm sad or relieved. :)
