You know an important event is coming up when you look at the expiration date on the milk carton and you realise that the expiration date is on your friend's wedding day, your interview day, etc.

The japanese way to write sarubobo is: "さるぼぼ".

I found myself thinking back to my last year in high school. I had a crush on a guy who wouldn't ever notice me. Even though I was all angsty and emo, there were times when I was convinced I could save the world, but I was still terrified of the idea of going out to "real life" and getting a job and such (obviously thinking I'd fail miserably at it) and then the idea of how life was supposed to get more complicated almost made me want to off myself.
Here's the thing that amazes me: life didn't get more complicated, it just got easier without all the hormones running through me and giving me all the ups and downs... and the things that were complicated back then (school gossip, best friends cheating on you, etc) are still complicated now (office politics, prioritizing family vs work). So either I just didn't grow up, or the whole "enjoy being a kid while you can"-philosophy that my parents kept shoving to my face was just bullshit.

Finally! It's mine... That watch which I've coveted for more than 15 months is at last in my posession. =)

Du är en engelsk bulldog.
Bulldoggen är en cool livsnjutare av rang. Den ser tuff ut, men har inte riktigt koll på vilket skrämmande intryck den kan göra på såväl människa som andra hundar. Den börjar aldrig ett slagsmål, det behöver den inte. Tvärtom så förväntar den sig att alla är lika fredliga som sig själv. Bulldoggen lever under devisen "peace, love and understanding annars får du riktiga problem". Skulle den dock mot förmodan hamna i slagsmål är det bara ett som gäller; vinna eller dö. Många skulle nog kalla bulldoggen för den perfekta hunden, lugn och sansad. Den skäller nästan aldrig. Och sist men inte minst, en bulldog älskar att åka bil, tåg, båt eller flyg. Den är lättskött och behöver inte alltför mycket motion.

Vilken hund är du?

Most people will at some point in life find themselves between jobs, between partners or between apartments. I've found myself myself between altitudes lately, not knowing whether to spend more time on floor 7 than 5, in an airplane or on the ground. But that's okay, because that will all be finished soon: starting tomorrow I will officially belong to the support and not be part of the QA anymore, and I'm as happy about that as my mates in the QA are.
This is what I've wanted ever since I left marketing and it's been a long journey with many twists to get there. But I feel that I'm finally about to come home now. An additional bonus is having a friendly manager.
Yes, I think I will like my "new" job.

It's been a long time since the last update and I guess facebook is to blame for that. It just sucked me in with all it's shiny bits and pieces.
Meanwhile I've officially moved out of the marketing department, but I'm not quite sure who is my currently is my boss. Or as the CEO of our company put it: "One day you will know, but currently you can look to me for all the papers that need signing". Dragon is looking for the silver lining and told me "You're a cloud. We have them at work. People can do whatever they want to and nobody really knows what their area of responsibility is so they leave the clouds alone." That's not true though, I know what my primary responsibility is: support.
My exhibition in sweden is looking very nice, but I've only sold one piece so far. I guess there's not such a high demand for circuit jewelry in the stockholm suburbs.
I've hung an additional 2 paintings in my gallery at the office though. People are starting to ask for paintings for their rooms and such. And the great thing is that I'm getting exposure, but the paintings are still mine. My old boss wanted to pimp me out to some gallery, we'll see what happens with that. She's not completely reliable when it comes to non-work related business.

You know how people always say "X wouldn't know [noun] even if it jumped up and bit their butt"?
Well, evidently I know frost because I have frostbites on my butt.

So one of our team-members decided to jump ship. Can't say I blame him, but still he's the first one to quit after the big cahuna kicked the company bucket in August. And the grapevine has it there will be more. Even I am now starting to consider updating my CV and moving away, before my family of colleagues becomes a company coal mine full of corporate clones.

The ML column showes the strength of the quake. The F in "type" indicates that you can feel the quake. As you can see there have been two earthquakes here this week.

and it reminded me a lot of those glittery stickers I used to have when I was a little girl.

When it was over, I slipped off the skins and drowned them in the river where we used to swim.

A year later in a shop, I was stopped by a man. He said, "I know you're looking for something that's hard to find and I think I have what you have in mind."
And he led me to a glass case and looked deep into my face... "It's just control."

Breath Control - Nicole Kidman

2 eggs
4.5 - 5 dl self-raising flour
0.75 dl honey
1 dl sugar
1 package of sourcream
1 grated carrot
1 tea spoon of vanilla extract
0.5 lightly squeezed lemon (I guess that gives around 2-3 tablespoons of juice)
cinnamon

Bake at 200 degrees around 10 minutes (make sure they don't get too dry inside)

Finally, I'm getting published (...Wehay! =)...), but it's only the company newsletter (...Woohoo =(...) . On the other hand it will reach all our customers and it will have my name on it. If they're not smart enough to do a google search they don't deserve the rest of my art anyway.

So I went to muffinrecipes.net to find a recipe for - yeah, you guessed it - muffins. I figure it might be nice to bring over some muffins as dessert for the friday dinner.
But then google ads got in the way and I suddenly don't feel like making those muffins anymore. And it annoys me a bit. I have a bad enough body image as it is.
In the light of how the ads on muffinrecipes.net reflect on the content of that page, I think that the owner of the site should be ever more pissed off than I am.

So today I brought the "crocodile" and the "blue tree" paintings to the office.

The crocodile was hung in the QA room much to the joy and amusement of my roomies and they used the painting as an IQ test for all our visitors today. "Do you recognize the unit? No? Well, think about it some more, I'm sure you'll figure it out... eventually."
A few hours later Dragon called and told him one of his colleagues wanted the crocodile for her house. I said no. As much as I would love some more money for art, I'm not about to let down my team. I'll just make the same painting again. I don't mind. Even Leonardo DaVinci must have made two paintings on the same theme, right?

The blue barely managed to touch the wall and then it was sold to my colleague who had wanted to buy the red tree. I like the blue one better.

So my art room (notice the upgrade from 'hobby room' to 'art room'), which was starting to look like Mr Isaac's studio, now only has three canvases in it, and two of them are going to be gone by saturday. The third one is leaving on sunday.

And then it's back to the jewelry, I guess. I think I'll miss being a painter.
