Roomate wanted

I'm looking to get a roommate for my new condo. I'm not in a rush to find someone, I'd rather wait and have the right renter than rush and get someone now. Feel free to forward this off to anyone you know who may be interested (and would be a good roommate).

Room for rent in Gaithersburg. Monthly Maid service included

I'm a gay male looking for a second person to share my three bedroom two
bath condo (3rd bedroom will be an office and not rented) someone to
rent a Sunny bedroom (10x11) in Gaithersburg. Monthly maid service is
included, we can make it more frequent if you're interested. Room is
freshly painted and has new carpet. The room is steps to a bus stop,
less than a mile from the Marc and Lake Forest Mall, and three miles
from metro.

No pets at the moment but I would be cool with a well trained dog.
There is a washer and dryer in the unit so you can save your quarters.
All standard utilities and cable TV are included (internet and phone are
not).

$500 a month + Security Deposit

I just got linked to a book by a friend. The book is supposedly a kids book about a child who feels that he is gay.

I don't want to ruin the surprise and give away the ending but it is slightly disturbing. I can't see any library of congress or other information on it so I hope this was just someone's privately printed joke and not a real book.

Good ride on the bike today. Decided to pick up new grips for my Katana. I really want to upgrade the grips, as it should reduce the numb hands I'm getting on the bike now. I start to unscrew the first handlebar weight and I can't get it to budge. I put some WD40 in it and it comes out no problem. I put WD40 on the other one and start to unscrew it. After applying some torque to the screwdriver it turns. The problem is that the screw driver turned and the screw didn't. Basically the screw is stripped. So now I'm going to need to drill it out. Tomorrow I'm going to try to drill out the screw head and then hopefully pop off the weight.

The problem is that the screw it uses is a 6mmx50mm (or 55mm I really think) and home depot doesn't have that screw in stock (they have it as a bolt but not as a screw). So tomorrow I'm going to call up the Suzuki dealer and see if they might have it in stock, or a weight upgrade kit (with screws). This is of course assuming that I can actually drill the screw head off. If I can't and need to drill into the weight it's not bad for the bike, it's just more than I want to do.

Let's hope for the best tomorrow.

Edits for j_dc

Katana is the model name of my motorcycle.

Grips are the plastic things you grip on the handlebars

Two bike related updates

So I rode my motorcycle into the office today. That in and of itself isn't unusual, I do it somewhat often and it actually saves me time because I get to use HOV. Due to the danger of road rash I don't want to wear dress pants on the bike so I always wear blue jeans when riding. However my office has a dress code and as such denim pants aren't acceptable. So when I get to the office I need to change out of the jeans and into dress pants. The problem is that my office doesn't actually have a true "changing/locker" room, this leaves me with two options. I could change in a stall in the bathroom or I change in the "nursing room". The nursing room is a room that was originally set aside for nursing mothers to lactate and save the milk but in actuality the room is rarely used. So the motorcyclist at the company have gotten permission to change into work appropriate clothing there after arriving. Of course the general employee population is not aware of this so I've gotten quite a few stares as I've entered or exited the nursing room. Honestly this doesn't bother me but I'd love to know what they are thinking.

There is actually a MUCH better solution to this problem but I refuse to do it because of the image it would project. If I were to buy a pair of motorcycle chaps I could wear them over my dress pants. The chaps would provide greater protection than the denim, they would be easier to take on and off, they would even eliminate my need to use the nursing room. There's just ONE problem. ..... I'd own a pair of assless chaps, and I'm not sure the jokes would ever stop (and yes I'm looking at you Mr whuey and Mr nonumnos.

For those of you who have never slept with me (which is the vast majority of my flist and I believe the entirety of my active readers) I figured I'd share something about me.

I hate wearing clothes in the house. If I'm home and alone It's likely that at most I'm wearing a pair of underwear. It doesn't matter if I'm working from home, playing xbox, or scrubbing the floor if no one else is here it's a good bet that I'm almost neked. Normally this happens a second or two after I walk in the door. I'll come in, drop the backpack, put away the groceries, whatever and then once my hands are free my first action is to strip down. Half the time I don't even consciously realize that I'm doing this, it's just part of my standard "coming home" actions. This means that there is normally a small pile of clothes right by the door (the first thing I pick up when someone is going to stop by). It's gotten to the point where I keep a pair of shorts and a shirt right by the door that I can easily throw on if someone unexpectedly shows up at the door.

There is really nothing sexual about this behavior I just dislike wearing clothes.

I've noticed an odd behavior has developed in the F2F meetings that I attend. During these meetings most of the attendees have laptops up and running front of them so quite a bit of "back channel" communications happens over IM. That's not unusual but what is is the behavior that happens when one of these IMs is sent. It's an interesting play that happens over and over.

First Person A (let's call her Alice) will send an IM to Person B (let's call him Barry).
Barry will receive the IM read it and then look at Alice.
Alice will then give a facial expression or a gesture that goes along with the IM.
Barry will then type a response back to Alice.
Alice will receive the IM read it and then look at Barry .
Barry will then give a facial expression or a gesture that goes along with the IM.
(and so on)

For some reason this really amuses me. Especially since there are many different conversations going on at once so you can watch quite a few different expressions and looks moving around
