We woke up early on Day 2. Around 2am when it started pouring rain. We lept out of the tent and tossed on the rain flap which covered the screen windows but didn't do much good otherwise. Emma is tall, so invariably, her feet or head were touching the sides of the tent, causing floods of rain onto her. And those floods were joining the pools that were welling up from underneath. Despite this, we tried to get more sleep. However, the rain had excited others in tents near us and we endured a loud conversation about computer repairs for about a half an hour.

Day 2: A Tent is NOT An Ark
Day 1: Walking through the Fires of Hell
At lunch, I had just endured my first really HOT stretch of walking. And it was exhausting. I didn't think I could continue in heat like that. I had some bandanas that I planned to get wet and tie around my neck, but didn't know how long they'd stay wet and didn't want to risk precious water. So I was very surprised when Emma pulled out a pink bandana and tossed it to me. She put it in a bag of ice water and it started plumping up and was nice and cool! With this tied around my neck, I changed into fresh socks, I filled my bottles with ice and beverage, and I set out on the path again. Day 1: Let The Walking Begin
This day started at ass-o-clock in the morning. It was still dark out and pouring rain when our wake up call came. We dressed in our walk clothes and zipped up our bags and stumbled down to the lobby. Emma and I volunteered to check people into the shuttle busses running from the hotel to the start of the walk. So we spent some time doing that and managed to find space even for people who had not originally made reservations. Walk Report: Pre-walk Humidity Training
I headed down to Florida on Tuesday night. My teammates, Emma and Steph, headed down earlier with Steph's sister Sheila to do a bit of Disney. They got us a room at the Disney Caribbean Beach Hotel and visited Epcot and Animal Kingdom without me. I still have feet
I want to make a longer post (or several) recounting my days walking, but that's gonna take some time. So I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm home (after a 6 hour delay in the Tampa airport) and my feet are doing well. I have a small blister on one heel (from rainy day #2) and a bit of a weird tingly sensation in a big toe, but both are doing well and I'm moving around pretty well. I could probably go walk another 60 miles. Voice Post: finished!
