12:35 pm: Favorite quote from a soap opera as of today:

"You really think you could get away with sticking me in a box and shipping me off to Uzbekisatan??"

12:58 pm: I've been reading this website everyday lately called "Overheard in New York" Which is pretty funny..it's just random things that people hear in new york city and send in to this web site. Anyway, today I went to look at it and it says "Overheard in Space: The Voice of the Cosmos" (the New York one says : "The Voice of the City") and for every day it has a date and absoloutly nothing for what has been overheard. I was super confused until I realized again that today is April 1.

02:57 pm: I'm sooooo so ready for school to be done for the semester! I'm working on my last BIG paper, and then I have 3 other littleish but still significant papers...and that's pretty much it! I'm so ready to be done!

Random new favorite thing: Thigh High Stockings. The thing I always hated most about stockings was how tight they are and how freakishly high up your waist they go. With thigh highs that problem is gone, plus there's lace around the top!

10:52 pm: Teen girl #1: Yeah, it's totally true. I heard it on the olive branch.
Teen girl #2: "Olive branch"?
Teen girl #1: Yeah, you know. It's going around...It's a rumor. The olive branch.
Teen girl #2: You mean the grape branch?

05:30 pm: I've been sitting in the airport for about 4 hours now, and I've only got about an hour left! And then a 2 hour flight to SF and then an hour drive home and then I'm there! Woo!!

Weirdest thing.. while I was sitting here a guy from my school who Abby has a secret crush on came and sat down in my seating area. He is definitely on my flight. Weird. I had to call Abby instantly and let her know, but of course she didn't answer her phone. So I just left a message, but that's lame. I hope she gets really excited when she hears it.

Plus I am pretty much the picture of a modern girl sitting here typing away on my laptop with wireless internet for the past 4 hours, and I especially felt it when I whipped out my cell phone.

12:11 am: I am so disillusioned right now. This song that by Bon Jovi that is labelled as "shot through the heart" on my computer, and does indeed include the words "shot through the heart" prominently in the chorus, is not in fact "Shot Through the Heart". That is a completely different, longer, less upbeat song by Bon Jovi that also includes the words "shot through the heart" in the chorus. The song I own is actually called "You Give Love a Bad Name."

10:46 pm: My roommates and I were bored tonight..reading magazines.. and we found this lip gloss sample, and so we all tried it on and then abby suggested we kiss the mirror. Here are the results.

Guess which one is mine!

12:41 pm: Today I had a very local-celebrity-full lunch. My roommate and the school president (student association) are kinda a thing now, but I hadn't actually gotten to introduce myself to him until today. He started walking with us and he introduced himself to me (He said "Hi, I'm James." and I said "I know...I'm Alison.") of course I know who he is, he's Mr. President! Abby and I get very excited about meeting or even being close to anyone that is well-known. I met up with Abby a minute after I split with them, and I let her shake my hand so she could feel like she'd shaken his. And then he and Katherine sat with us for lunch. He was RIGHT NEXT to me! Incredible.

El Presidente himself.

And then, as if that wasn't enough, Jacob Moon sat at the table that was touching ours. He was so close! In case you haven't heard of him (which you probably haven't) he's a canadian singer who has come to Trinity a couple times. He sang in chapel yesterday and did a concert on campus, and he was right there. at our table. We don't really like his music that much, but he is a singer and he is locally well known, and we had just been talking about him a few minutes beforehand.

The Moonster.

Wow. How am I supposed to settle down and write a paper after all this excitement?

04:34 pm: Went to the library in Vancouver today with Julianne.. and it is HUGE. I don't think I've ever seen a library that big. Does SF have a huge library? If so, I definitely need to go. This thing was seriously 6 or 7 stories tall, and that's not including the kids books. And each floor was like one of Fremont library's floors.

We sat on the floor in the arts and crafts section and looked at different house decorating styles. I am conflicted between liking modern minimalistic styles and liking the rich indian fabric look. They don't really go together, but maybe when I have a house I can make my own fusion of the two.

I have to write a speech and a paper and I'd really rather go shopping. Or something other than writing them.

08:32 pm: I don't think I would do well living alone. My roommates are all gone this weekend and I think basically I've watched tv and eaten oreos. a lot of oreos. I'm surprised that I don't feel sick, actually.

10:39 pm: Sometimes I wish I was 4 again. I was babysitting today and hanging out with this 4 year old girl, and she and I were just chatting. I asked her what she wanted to be and it turned out the be a Princess-Ballerina. Sounds like a great job to me! She said those are both things she likes so she'll do them both :) She said that if she was a Princess she would get married and I asked if she would marry a prince. She said yes. I said "Well, if you don't become a princess do you think you'll get married anyway?" And she went off into a long talk about how her parents were married and blah blah ..something.. anyway I asked her if she had a boyfriend, and she said yes.
I said, "Oh, what's his name?"
"Brayden." (something like that)...
"Well do you think you and Brayden will get married?"
"No, I don't think he'd want to marry me."
"Why not?"
"Because he doesn't even like me."
"Oh, well how old is he?"
"I don't know, but he's half bigger than me." (what does that mean?)
lol
"So, does Zion (her brother) have a girlfriend?"
"No, no boys have girlfriends."

07:39 pm: I found a shirt in the street today. I've seen it sitting there for probably a couple weeks now, at a medium sized intersection that I drive through every day. It's been run over hundreds of times, probably. I decided it needed rescuing! I brought it home and it's in the dryer right now...it's got tons of holes in it but I'm sure I'll figure out something to do with it.

09:04 pm: here I am! still around!
Today I discovered that I'm not going to have to take another math class! Yay! I took one freshman year but thought it might not count towards my psyc major because it says "only for declared elementary ed majors" but it turns out that what they mean is really "you can only get into this class if you are a declared elementary ed major, but if you change your mind later it still counts as math credits and you just got yourself an easy class." Sweet.

I also bought a sweater today. Well, I bought two, but this story is about one of them. It had these big puff balls on the ends of the drawstrings (Like...1.5" big)...and they flopped around and looked stupid and annoyed me and I knew as soon as I saw it that I would cut them off if I owned it, but I had more shopping to do and I wanted to wear it so I did. Some lady stared at me on the way into walmart, and I'm sure it was because of the sweater puffs. That's the only explanation. So I asked the guy at save-on foods if he had scissors and he did. so I cut them off and put them in my purse.. just in case they'll be useful for something someday.

If you haven't discovered picasa...go discover it now. I love it. I love it so much I might marry it. But first I'd have to break up with Justin and I don't want to do that, so I guess I won't marry it. Plus I don't think a computer program would make a good husband even though it makes a fabulous picture finder/editor/everythinger.

It's been so long since I used this that I can't even remember how to do lj-cuts. Drat.. I'm gonna have to look it up.

Wow. lj-cut in crocodile brackets. I have a terrible memory.

I don't even really need it. I don't want to use it right now...

This is what the sky around here has been saying to me every day lately:

(actually that's not true.. it's been pretty nice, but it rained a bit today, and it has rained a lot overall since school began.)
