180! And no it's not a bowling score or what I did on the roads today.
It's my 180th entry into my memories. And since
maybedarkpink answered my trivia question correctly, she got her choice of drabble/story/thing.
There Was No Thing
They sat in silence.
They hadn't spoken to each other since the fight. Since the Slayers arrived and saved their sorry asses. They owed their lives to teenage girls. They almost wished they had died.
Angel glanced at the nurses station, wondering if there was any news about Gunn. He was in surgery and still might die.
"Spike," Angel whispered. "About what I said right before the fight."
Spike shifted uncomfortably. "About wanting to kill the dragon? Yeah, I thought that was a bit selfish of you too."
"No," Angel slouched forward. "About the other thing."
"There was no other thing."
Angel was confused, "The love thing?"
"There. Was. No. Other. Thing."
"Oh," he rubbed his palms against his trouser leg. "Because I--"
"--You never said anything so there is nothing to say."
"You said it too."
"I thought I was going to die!" Spike shouted, receiving strange glares. He leaned forward so he could whisper in Angel's ear. "There were no declarations of love. That is not our style."
Angel turned his head and locked his eyes on his, "But they heard. Gunn, Illyria."
"And I'm sure they are trying to forget about it the same as we are," Spike had to look away. "Everything is fine. We're back were we started."
Angel straightened, "Back to hating each other?"
"Yep."
