Between Gold Records and Rings
Title: Between Gold Records and Rings
Bandom: Taking Back Sunday
Characters: Adam Lazzara
Claim: Adam Lazzara
Prompt: Two of Wands
Word Count: 200
Rating: PG
Warnings: none
Author's Notes: Fake.
Summary: Wands are passion, and passion is not something that works well when split. Adam has a choice to make.
Adam heard her tears, felt them thicken the silence as she tried not to cry too much from five hundred miles away. He couldn't help it, couldn't do this in person because he knew that if he tried he wouldn't have the guts. Couldn't watch her eyes fill, see the tears shimmering on her lower lashes; it would all be too beautiful to ever consider letting go of. The band wouldn't matter, the fear wouldn't matter. He would wrap his arms around her, carry her to bed, tell her he didn't mean it. Then later, at 3 in the morning or maybe 5, the certainty that he was throwing his career away would return.
Adam could never really do two things at once and the band needed him now more than ever. He loved her with all of his heart, but the music was so much more to him. There really wasn't a choice. Not between gold records and rings, not when he was most creative when miserable and alone.
He told her she could keep the ring, that he would be home to pack before they started recording. And then he hung up. Tomorrow he would start writing it all down.
