Where in the world are Abe & Kroenen?

Yes, that's right! Hollywood!
Not too long ago, I was super-lucky enough to get an invite to something amazingly awesome and I’d like to tell you about it. Regrettably, Rebecca was unable to join me on the trip, but on July 1st, I attended the fan screening of Hellboy II in Hollywood as part of a neat-o event by the name of Hellebration 2008. I met the cast and crew as well and a lot of other truly wonderful people whose acquaintance I’m just thrilled to have made. I can’t properly explain how grateful I am for the opportunity (hi, Maurice!), so I hope that my ridiculous smiling in the following pictures helps express it.
( Hellebration 2008 story and pictures... )
The people I met and the whole experience were just amazing. I feel so lucky to have been a part of all of it, and to think I got into this via a webcomic about action figures and forbidden love floors me. I thought it couldn't get any better after Del Toro did a write-up about us on his website, but here we are about 2 years later. Everyone was so nice, cast and crew included, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. GDT is working on the Hobbit next and that's actually one of my favourite books (and the LOTR trilogy my favourite films) so I'm very keen, but all the same, here's to a future including a Hellboy III!
Now, I'd like to get on with the business of shout-outs, because they are always needed.
kusanivy was there and helped me out when taking some pictures of A&K. She is an amazing artist and I was thrilled to meet her in-person. Super-nice, too.
Also the lovely eleganceliberty, a big fan of Doug and a sweetheart and thehellmistress too, the webmistress behind Doug Jones' official site.
And a ton of others sans-LJs who I still say a big "HI!!!!" to! One such person who I will name, though, is David Server, one of the nicest guys there and also one of the keenest. He's got a comic called FreakShow coming out in 2009, so keep an eye out!
Man. Okay, I think I'm nearing the end...but there's still more. Because when they weren't hanging out with the beautiful celebrities, Abe and Kroenen got a chance to see some of the sights...
( Their trip to the Chinese theatre, to the Getty and to the sea... )
AND THAT'S THE END. I had an awesome time, thank you to everyone and keep on keepin' on! We'll be back with our 101st episode soon!
Love, Kim & Rebecca
p.s. this was constructed slowly and painfully, so pardon any errors or oversights! I'll try to fix or add or take away!

WE ARE 3!
Hey! Guess what! Today marks THREE YEARS since we first set out to write about the forbidden love between two Hellboy characters who never meet in canon. That's well over...uh...three-hundred sixty-five times...um...carry the two...that's, like, well over nineteen days.
And for those of you who have been here since the beginning, thank you so much for everything you've done, whether it's commenting, critiquing, buying us e-gifts, drawing, writing, talking, enjoying or whatever else. We're incredibly grateful that we've gotten this much from you guys for something that is really ridiculous. It amazes and delights us that you read this and that you laugh and all that good stuff. And thank-you to everyone who's joined in since. We keep getting new people adding us and reading the comic and we really hope you continue to enjoy it and that it still makes you laugh because that's seriously awesome.
Now, just so you know, I (Kim) am currently away and I'll respond to the last episode's comments when I return because they are all super awesome on our 100th episode. This post is picture-free at the moment, but we have a surprise coming up (some of you know already, I think) and it's uh...pretty neat, to say the least.
But until then, let me just say thank you again. Because we're not a huge webcomic, but our fans and readers are some of the coolest people around. So thanks for three years and for following us through over 1500 (or at least well over nineteen) pages of this ridiculous story.
Woohoo!
Kim & Rebecca

We've got a new episode coming out in about 2 or 3 days, but the stars of the show have been out of town for the past little while, so you'll have to pardon us for being behind. I won't go into the details of how much money was gained or lost, but here are just a few pictures from their trip.

| (Late) Newspost! |
[09 May 2008|10:33am] |
So! News post, news post…
Let’s see…what did we do…
Oh! Okay, a bunch of weeks ago, we went to the New York Comic Con! As you saw in the last comic.
It.
Was.
Awesome.
( And here are some pictures! And the story! )
(This is us with the neat-o Mike Mignola, creator of Hellboy, for those who don’t want to read the cut. KEEN!)
Please note our awesome B.P.R.D. special ops badges.
And finally, even though we’re super super late on this, we still want to give a shout out to…
freetre, reader and super-talented artist who we met at the convention. She was great, had a neat-o very nice(because SOME PEOPLE have a problem with the word NEAT-O!) booth and you should all…I don’t know. Say hi and look at her very cool work.
Arthur Delaney of New American Graphic Novels, who was there with a beta book for the new comic he and his team are working on. It’s called NANOMAN and we got the beta books so we’re holding on to them for when it all takes off.
NOW! Next!
Doug Jones (Abe!) is also going to be appearing at a much smaller New York convention in June and Rebecca and I will be heading down to that. It’s called the Big Apple Con so if anyone’s going to that, let us know! We’ll be there the 6th to the 8th.
Thanks for reading! And we’ll be back with a new episode soon!
Kim & Rebecca
p.s.
dude, he knew who we were. :-O He CREATED 'HELLBOY', man!

| Happy sort of St. Patrick's day! |
[17 Mar 2008|07:48am] |
HEY!

Alright, so technically St. Patrick's day was two days ago but we're not purists so here it is on the 17th! And it comes with the promise of a new episode in a couple days (we're working on it! It'll appear on your friends page before you know it!) but also a question...
Is anyone here attending the New York Comic Con? Because we are! And it's the first con for either of us (or at least me...I should ask Rebecca. But I assume here and I like to make grand statements while she isn't looking. Did you know I'm also an astronaut? And that I once wrote a best-selling novel under my pen-name, Dan Brown?) so it's bound to be be neat. Anyway, if anyone's gonna be there let us know so we can say hi. And if you're an exhibitor, let us know so we can come over to your booth and take your stuff.
-Kim

( Episode Ninety-Three )
P.S. Things have been super-busy lately (Rebecca's moving) so we're sorry for delays. The questions in the previous post I'll (Kim) get to, but we are still 110% thankful for all your comments and these ones'll definitely get the replies. Thanks!

Wishing you health and happiness in 2008, thanking you for being so awesome in 2007 (and...pretty much as long as we've been around) and hoping that New Year's morning doesn't find you on the floor!
Lots of love from this 3-hours old new year, Kim and Rebecca
