OMG. Yesterday I was like I NEED TO REWATCH TORCHWOOD SO I CAN WRITE CONNOR AND JACK HAVING SEX. And then today sahara_storm posted this squeefest and I realize that dudes I remember that I love my cracky bisexual alien pterodactyl show. AND I MISS IT SO MUCH. AND GOD WTF BRITISH TV WHY DO YOU ONLY GIVE ME FIVE EPISODES NEXT SERIES? DO YOU WISH TO CAUSE ME PAIN. IT'S WORKING.

GOD WHY DO I NOT HAVE TORCHWOOD ICONS ANYMORE? I MUST FIX THIS.

Guys - I kinda want to marathon Torchwood. No - I'm not realizing that I'm probably boring the snot out of half of you all with my recent Buffyverse obsession - I just want to write Jack as the Immortal. AND I'M SLOWLY BECOMING OBSESSED WITH JACK/CONNOR (I cannot list all the kinks of mine they would hit, because the list would be too long).

TRY AND TELL ME IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. AND THAT IT WOULDN'T BE HOT. And I'll call you a liar.

clevermonikerr and I were talking about how a good portion of Buffy and Angel's arguments often boiled down to this: BUFFY: KISS TIME. ANGEL: OMG MUST PROTECT YOU. BUFFY: SERIOUSLY KISSY TIME. ANGEL: *KISSES AND WARNINGS TO BE CAREFUL*

And it inspired me to do a small pic spam of my favorite moment like that in Bad Girls.

I've had a kind of lousy day and there a friend I miss. So I decided to post some of my favorite Angel/Cordy hurt/comfort moments because I need BFF OTPs and living though them helps dull my pain.

But the abstinence-only sexual education isn't working in the US. As proof... it's not working. So I don't get why it's such a big deal to change how we teach our teenagers sexual education. They're having sex anyway. We may as well teach them how to do it safely, right?

I mean we can even pull 'think of the children!' - you know the babies that these kids are making.

(Let me not even get into why it's perfectly normal for teenagers to have a sex drive and for them to have sex in general. Because I've done it before.)

I don't really want to talk about the pros and cons of Obama in this post. What I do want to talk about is why his speech moved me so much.

3. Flist, remind me to write up a post of all my BtVS/Angel fic ideas tomorrow. If, for no other reason than I can strike out the fics when I'm done and I'll feel all accomplishedlike.

You know. I'm glad that half the fandom hates TGiQ. It means there is more for me to love.

Someday, when I'm less lazy, I will do a full picspam of the episode. For now, though, have two caps and some of my brilliant commentary.

IN CONCLUSION! This bit:

SPIKE: If this was L.A., We'd have him hog-tied by now.

Makes me want to write a fic where The Immortal does come to L.A. and Spike and Angel drive everyone, especially Wesley because Lorne, Gunn and Fred pawn him off to them, nuts while trying to bring The Immortal down.

In more conclusion, I love this show.

This is, perhaps, the best summary of Twilight ever.

You know, if we had more canon Buffy/Angel crossovers, I think my brain might feel less need to come up with ridiculous AU fics when I'm trying to code PHP stuff. I DON'T NEED ANOTHER.

...Even though it'd be awesome. It'd be a post-apocolpytic world set a bit after Time Bomb were the SP have left this world because there is nothing left to profit from it whereupon Buffy attempts to keep whats left of the world together with Wes as her second in command because Angel and Giles appear to be dead and latches on emotionally to Connor because Dawn is dead and slowly going nuts as she tries to keep things together and not think about her reason being dead. Xander and Gunn will be drinking buddies and Illyria and Willow work on getting her full powers back because a god would totally kill off all the demons overunning the earth. And Spike is there doing something because he's a really annoying blond cockroach that will never die and I'm growing more fond of the bugger.

Lately I've been pulling out my hair when reading people criticizing character deaths and how I want to treat that in my fiction. Especially an epic war story where I'm going to kill people off because if I don't, I think it'd take away from the story I'm trying to tell.

Anyway -

There has to be a balance between shoving a women in a refrigerator and treating a woman as a person: sometimes people die. There also has to be a balance between moving a character forward because a loved one died and killing off a character thoughtlessly to their role in the story and their characterization just to move another character forward.

And then there's the fact that some characters hold more weight in a narrative than others. Just how it works.

So um talk to me. Tell me about your favorite character deaths and why they were as such. Or tell me about your least favorite character deaths and why. Or tell me about character deaths you're majorly conflicted on. TALK DEATH TO ME FLIST.
