Did you guys see this: http://www.monsterpig.com
I think my new doll is gonna be about this kid and the pig - long story short, he goes on a hunt and kills this MONSTEROUS freaking hog - this thing is over 1000lb - that one doesn't have the picture, here's one with the picture: http://www.hitnews.net/hogzilla-hoax-monster-pig-photos-real/
and it goes from a story that's Really Probably only interesting to you and your family to this big internet thing, to something people were debating on the radio yesterday! The father set up the website to kinda tell the not-so-sensational whole story (yes, it was on a hunting preserve, yeah apparently the preserve bought it from a farmer, sure it was freaking scarey - look at it!, and no the photos aren't doctored). And then it gets really weird. (check out some of those negative comments, death-threats to a fifth grader - over a pig? I think I want a gun, there are some scarey people out there).
I guess the wife of the farmer had given that one a name (Fred) and once treated it as sort of a pet. I would think about 950 lbs ago.. if your only experience with pigs is like you know, Porky or Babe? The big ones is not 'messin with' kinda animals. If you've got enough sense to keep your hand away from your neighbor's 150 lb pit-bull, well, you've probably got enough sense not to worry hogs. They're aggressive, and this one was apparently a particular nuissance.
And I guess people were excited 'cause it was a stocked preserve - whadda they call that, a 'canned' hunt? Like Cheney there? I don't know why that's a bad thing, I would think it'd be a good thing, particularly if you're virilently Anti-Gun. Its not my cup of tea, I like Nightclubs and restaurants, fancy hotels - if I'm spending money to go somewhere its gonna involve room-service. But Hey, some people like that hunting/fishing/camping stuff, enjoy it, and if you're worried about guns, wouldn't you want people using them in designated recreational areas? ie away from You? I live in an urban neighborhood, but it borders some swampy river and a large park, really just marshy-brush type area but every once in while, you hear gun-shots! Now you'd THINK a person with common sense would say, 'hmmm, I could Walk to a place that sells sushi in about fifteen minutes, MAYBE this is not a good place to fire my gun' and yet... I think they need MORE of those farms/preserves/whatever they call 'em.
